Doodled Eske and Yras because I was bored and they’re in recent chapters.
I forgot how much fun I had naming the scenes back in this rough draft.
This scene in a nutshell:
Yras: I just want to be friends. Eske: Sounds fake but okay
Andromeda! Gemini! Scorpio!
The maker herself blesses my inbox!
I’m using Legacy of the Remembered for this.
Andromeda: Describe your main characters
Eske is an anxious mess who doesn’t know how to deal with the fact that he’s an anxious mess, which just further perpetuates the fact that he’s an anxious mess.
Bohjin is trying his best to run a kingdom that was set up for failure a long time ago. He’s not incapable, and has help, but he makes mistakes and doubts himself. He just wants a good future for his people.
Ollyah is an optimistic pessimist who thinks things will go well, but also decided it’s inevitable for bad things to happen and that they all will have to go through them. She’s also shy.
Yras is a ray of sunshine who enjoys helping people and defending those who cannot do it themselves. He loves history and is easily excitable.
Gemini: What inspired you to write this project?
I was reading a lot of medieval fantasies and wanted to try my hand at one. The rough draft had little direction and was just me throwing events at a paper. I built the themes of trust and prejudice out of that and then went back to set everything straight.
There is no Scorpio, so I’m making up a question
How would your characters fare in a horror story?
Because genre-bending is fun.
Eske and Ollyah wouldn’t even end up in that situation unless they moved into the house that was haunted. Ollyah would try and make friends with the ghosts. Eske would not make it very far.
Bohjin would be the sensible protagonist that survives. Rime would too. Yras would sacrifice himself to save someone else.
Thank you oh esteemed one for sending me asks and then forgetting what your asks actually were!

Legacy Excerpt: Chapter 7. Back and Forth
Yzuan held his smile, eyes crinkled with mirth. Eske wanted to believe him, but there were too many reasons for him to be happy. Not all of them were safe. "Word travels of the prince with white hair."
While Eske was able to hold back the urge to shield his braid, he did tense. "I see." What else could he say? Where were his manners? Why should he care? It was obvious to Eske that these people held him in the same light all the other foreigners did. All anyone cared about what his heritage.
The older brother kept the conversation going. "Ah, my apologies, your highness. It was not my goal to make you uncomfortable." He gestured to a third chair at their table. "Would you care to join us?"
Would he? No, Eske wanted nothing less than to run away. He stared at the offered chair, inhaling a deep breath. If he sat there, he would be stuck between two strangers with their own agendas. There were no guards around. No one familiar.
His heart was racing, hand on his necklace again. No, no he could not. He would not. He had to leave. This was not safe. These people—foreigners, were not genuine.
It was just like last time.
And Yras had not stopped staring.

A very quick doodle of Eske and Rime for Pride Month.
Eske: Bisexual
Rime: Aroace
I didn’t draw Yras because I’ve never drawn him, so he’s not set in stone yet, and I also haven’t decided exactly what his sexuality is. Probably pansexual.
And Ollyah has no canon relationship so far, so her sexuality is literally just ???? who knows. It’s an open slate right now.
maybe I’ll do the Divine Humanity characters if I can ever get James’ hair to cooperate.
Original Fic Fest Day One: Characters
I’ll keep these brief. For more in-depth information, I’ll link the intro posts to the characters that I’ve made them for (I haven’t gotten to all of them yet).
Divine Humanity
Ethan
Ethan Ellis is a 22-year-old Anamium. His bloodline is considered pure. At the age of six, he was kidnapped from Anamaia by human traffickers. At the age of seven, he was rescued by the Powell family, but instead of returning home, they took him in as a ward. He has lived an extremely sheltered life in Noktorya ever since. At the time of the story, he is killed. However, because James caught Ethan’s soul, he was able to choose a second chance at life. He is now bound to James’ life. Ethan’s current goal is to return to Anamaia and find his family.
James
James Powell is a 25-year-old human. His father is one of nine Lords of Noktorya. His country has committed terrible crimes against Anamaia and Valorae, as discovered by the Powell family. Though James enjoys working against the corruption in Noktorya, he does not enjoy his immediate family. While he finds Ethan irritating, after saving his life, James grows more tolerant of the other. He chooses between his family and Ethan, while maintaining the desire to set Noktorya back on the right path.
Legacy
Eske
After 23 years of life, Prince Eske found himself much the same as ever. Due to a traumatizing event when he was a child, Eske has closed himself off from the rest of the world. He remains hidden away in the castle, barely trusting his own kingdom. Though he has managed his anxiety for years, it all falls apart when Bohjin invites foreign lords to a sacred Ehverian festival. This is the catalyst to further mistrust, but also a chance to grow. Not only is Eske a descendant of the legendary mage of life, Jule, but he has much of her abilities. This makes him a target for other kingdoms, especially Panjuun. When Eske is forced to leave Ehvera after his kingdom is attacked, he must learn to trust and judge without unhealthy bias.
Ollyah
Over the years, Ollyah has learned to expect betrayal. Though she manages decent relations with her family, she only interacts with people that are necessary to know. Unlike Eske, Ollyah tries to get along with those she does not know, and is not as quick to dismiss them. However, the thought that any of her people may turn their back on her drives her to spend as little time outside of the castle gates as possible. When she leaves with Eske to Fumari, she finds that it is her own people she fears, not others. A descendant of Jule, Ollyah has the rare ability to speak to the dead. This is not well-known outside of her family. Ollyah is not a fighter, and enjoys diplomacy and economics.
Bohjin
Bohjin was crowned King of the Kingdom of Ehvera at a young age. The weight of the kingdom is on his shoulders, and he often feels he is unprepared to accept that. With the help of his wife, Rime, he does what he can to run a kingdom that already has an interesting reputation. Because of his relation to the mage Jule, Bohjin can see aspects of a person's life at their birth. While this gave him advanced knowledge of future events, it did not prepare him for the ongoings of foreign powers. With his kingdom already isolated from decades of poor foreign relations, Bohjin has to pull it together and work to strengthen the bonds Ehvera has. Something is amiss, and Bohjin fears being inadequately prepared to defend his home.
Rime
Born in the Tsunizar Empire, Rime grew up in a noble family that arranged her marriage with Bohjin. She lived in Ehvera for a few years before they wed, giving her time to understand the culture she was to protect. Though she has not forgotten her roots, Rime has dedicated herself to Ehvera. Due to its reputation as hostile towards foreigners, Rime persevered to become a queen of whom Ehvera could be proud. As a child, she loved reading and pretending she was an adventurer. Despite being married to Bohjin, she considers him a good friend (as he does her) and has no desire to take their relationship further. When events take place that leaves Ehvera shaken, Rime must consider her past as a useful factor.
Yras
Cheerful and friendly, Yras enjoys meeting new people and travelling to new places. When King Azak requests for Yras and his brother, Yzuan, to travel to Ehvera in the King's stead, they accept without question. Yras found himself awestruck with not only the landscape and culture, but the people as well. Though not always good at reading the atmosphere, Yras has a perceptive eye and quick mind. After learning about Ehvera's unfortunate history, Yras decides to open Fumari's borders to a friendly alliance with it. He is considerate towards Eske and Ollyah when they are forced to return with him to Fumari. Yras makes it his mission to make both Ehverians comfortable, and perhaps get closer in the process.
Happy Worldbuilding Wednesday! What is the significance of dreams in your worldbuilding? Do they come from somewhere? Are they influenced by any outside forces? Are they magic? Are some of them real? And dont forget their darkside: nightmares. Tell us all about the things that go on while people sleep.
Dreams!
Dreams and nightmares aren’t special in Legacy. The closest I can think to them being magical would be Ollyah speaking to the dead, but that typically takes place in a limbo state she puts herself in. It’s rare for her to be contacted in a dream.
But there are a lot of things for them to dream about. Ollyah and Eske in particular have reoccurring nightmares from their own traumas. Ollyah’s used to revolve around seeing her mother die, then other family members (the mother one being based on actual reality, while the others are typical nightmares), and now she has nightmares about her attack in the book. Eske’s nightmares focus on his fear of killing people close to him on accident, the time he actually did kill people on accident, and the time he was kidnapped.
A lot of trauma all around for those two especially.
Thank you for the question!
