It is a Virginian-breed bat which it is huge compared to normal, real-life bats, They grow bigger and stronger when they feed on blood and the flesh of their preys, and their screech is strong enough to burst someones ear drums so they are considered extremely dangerous. When Arouj was a en evil and monstrous Incubus ‘Jaroud’ he found himself a pet and a loyal one, A huge Virginian Bat that he named ‘Rigel’ which translated to ‘loyal’ and also ‘dark creature’. With training and time, Arouj managed to make Rigel lovable and acceptable towards people and children.
