Tubarão gigante e mais antigo que dinossauros está vivo nas profundezas. Um tubarão gigante pré-histórico de 8 metros, de uma ascendência anterior à maioria dos dinossauros, foi filmado atacando um submarino de pesquisa. Os exploradores do grupo da OceanX identificaram o animal na costa da Ilha #Eleuthera, nas Bahamas. Segundo a OceanX, o encontro com os tubarões foi um momento “histórico” para a equipe. A fêmea de 6 anos come uma isca e depois nada em volta do submarino, ela não parecia interessada nos pesquisadores, até que se vira para bater com o nariz no veículo. Raríssimo, esse animal têm seis branquias primitivas que são uma herança do período jurássico, conhecido como tubarão-albafar ou tubarão-vaca (Hexanchus griseus), esses animais podem viver a até 2,4 mil metros de profundidade (a zona escura dos oceanos, lar dos peixes abissais) e chegam a medir até 8 metros de comprimento.
