if i had a nickel for every hobby that i got into sort of vicariously but then learned what my options were and then got really into the subculture and had a certain chunk of hobbyist youtubers that i dont like and theres one brand of thing that everyone hypes up but then people tell you that you dont really have to worry about it because its overhyped you can try these more budget friendly brands instead but really theyre still kinda unobtainable because they still cost a decent amount of money and the sunk cost fallacy makes it hard to commit to a purchase so instead you collect a sort of gear from manufactures that nobody really talks about but you have good experiences with but it still leaves you very isolated from the community and then you start to develop weird (or at least uncommon) opinions of how to do the hobby that some people do actually do but their stuff is considered high art and its really hard to convince the everyday people that support you to take interest in the art but the people in your life still like you and somewhat appreciate the uncommon way to practice hobby and you just can never find a group of people who really get you and you can be super close friends with like in all those stories you hear of great hobby-praticers who have little intermingling circles have but youre just stuck there with your weird shit in which it feels like noone is really a true friend-

id have 2 nickels which isnt a lot, but its weird that it happened twice.

u can be a cringe loser and get bullied and still have done drugs or had sex in highschool. lot of posts lately are like ‘sorry i wasnt doing drugs or having sex like yall and was just being BULLIED’. no you were the one bullying the kids doing drugs who were also just trying to get by, you still are. do you not understand the pain and horrors the kids who ‘did drugs and had sex in hs’ also had to endure?

It’s difficult. After such a long period of absence from you. 

It’s the Easter holidays. I still have quite a lot of work to do, which is upsetting. And I can’t quite seem to move forward. There is no me. I’ve forgotten the things I like to do and the things I need to do to become a happier version of myself. I can’t even make the leap to talk to anyone because, honestly, I feel like I’ve forgotten how. How to have a conversation that isn’t about lesson plans and behaviour management and assessment for learning. 

I’m turning 30 next week. I’d like to retrieve myself before I do.
