He actually hates roses. Hates them with a burning passion. If he never had to see another fucking rose in his goddamn fucking life it would be too soon.

Okay the roses thing is actually a lot more real Canon than Headcanon. See Offender was quite the "wild child" you might say, the moment he was reborn as a slenderkin he was enraptured by the power he suddenly had. Offender was human before he was a slender, and let's just say he was already prone to well, Offend. Not that he remembers a lot from being human.
At first Offender playing around was merely annoying to Slender (who is the guiding shepherd of his species, but don't think that makes him kind, he is judge, jury, and executioner). Offender was testing his limits, exploring his new body, learning how to hunt and feed properly. Many young slenderkin go through this phase, but Offender kept pushing.
Eventually Slender gave him a single warning. Which was promptly ignored.
So Slender attempted to kill him, but Offender didn't die like other third generation slenderkin. He regenerated. Every bit tipped apart and eaten simply grew back. And of course Offender still didn't learn his lesson after getting his ass ripped in half (& not in a sexy way). Slender needed to put a leash on him & fast before he poisoned the whole food supply. So with Splendor's help (the slenderkin who made Offender) Slender used incredibly powerful dark magic to create the roses. They are a cursed vine covered in thorns that are ever growing. Then he cut Offender open and put them in his chest.
The vines are twisted into every part of his body, they curl around his bones, they dig into his muscles, they pierce his organs.
He's in constant mind numbing agony (it's why he does so many drugs).
The roses are a punishment, and Slender has 3 rules for Offender that he must follow unless he wants this punishment to get worse:
He cannot touch children. Children are Slender's preferred food, this preference fades over 14/15 though Slender casts his protection over all children until they are the age of consent.
If Offender wishes to indulge his hedonistic urges he must give a rose to his chosen target.
All roses he wishes to used must be torn from the vines inside him. (The roses bloom when the vines break skin.)
It's not hard to see why he hates roses.

Okay brief explanation of the Offender & EJ fight. So EJ started dating someone, they put a protection mark on them to claim them and ward off other demons and such. Offender targeted this individual, EJ told him to back off and he said no. A nasty fight broke out between them, Offender bit EJ across his shoulder and EJ clawed Offender's eyes open. The eyes are the most sensitive part of his body so he immediately let go of them and teleported away to heal. Since then Offender treats EJ like a close friend and enjoys spending time with them!
