at least my immediate family does enjoy sherlock and the tolkien stuff just not to the extent i do and then most of my extended family has some inkling (just like oh 'she's into...nerdy stuff i think??') so i mean that stuff is not on their minds when we all get together hah

Me too! If only you could just hit them up and be like “here’s the work in progress! Your thoughts?” …professional emails take forever to write (and a thesaurus sometimes haha)

exactly!! i just want to talk to them like normal and instead it's like i feel like i have to write a five paragraph essay and you want to make sure your tone sounds okay and maintaining that 'professionalism' even with people i've worked with a lot i still have a hard time feeling casual about writing anything eughdjsfdf
