Page 23. ---- Throbbing drums yesterday welcomed members of the Six Nations Indian confederacy to Oshweken for a ceremony at which chieftainship was bestowed on two leaders of the Ontario government. Premier Hepburn, ill at his home in St. Thomas, was represented by Mrs. Hepburn, who received as his proxy the title of Chief Roe-Ne-Ren-Ne, meaning "The people are following him." In this photograph Mrs. Hepburn is shown with Mrs. George Green, wife of the chief who conducted the ceremony. Also honored was Hon. Harry Nixon.

“Foils Holdup,” Border Cities Star. April 14, 1932. Page 19. ---- Cab Driver Flees From Two Young Indians In Vehicle ---- BRANTFORD. Ont.. April 14. Two Indian young men attempted to hold up Norman Humble, taxi driver, here last night. They asked to be driven to Ohsweken.

When nearing the Soursprings road turn on the Cockshutt highway, Humble said, he received an order to keep on going and felt something pressed into his ribs. He kept “on going" until he got to the corner, then jumped the cab, heading for a house on the corner, with the two Indians after him. The owner of the house heard the commotion and the two Indians swerved, being soon lost to sight. Provincial Police and the R. C. M. P. are on the trail of the two, who are believed to have imbibed too much fire water.
