some royal family au headcanons for y’all, since zeus is a very different person in this au.

regarding his siblings: he adores ALL of them, and looks up to them a lot.  hades most of all, however -- he wants to be a prince just like him, wants to be as strong and smart and rule a kingdom just like hades will --- but he’s told to keep his mouth shut about all of that.   i think he’s closest with demeter and hades, though -- he trails after hades, and spends lots of time playing / training / exploring with demeter.  he’s also close with hestia, just not as dependant on her int his verse as he is normally.

he’s pretty carefree??  he’s not concerned with conquering a kingdom, or ruling, or having any real responsibility at all.  he can be a little cocky around lesser people in the kingdom, still that familiar zeus we all know and love -- but around his superiors, he becomes very quiet, reserved, and careful, because of his father.

he’s also quite the flirt when he grows older, unabashedly so.  there’s no real tact to it like he has normally, he just does it at every turn.  this being said, i think he was a virgin for considerably longer than he was in main verse.

he’s very dutiful in his lessons, considering he’s taught by very valued members of the kingdom and wouldn’t dare disrespect them; but he also has a thirst for knowledge, as per usual -- he wants to be like hades, remember?  he just doesn’t want to BE in hades’ shoes.  the idea of a kingdom is appealing to him for about three seconds until he remembers all the work he’d have to do / all the freedom he would lose.

he’s excellent with a sword, and has shown prowess in his control over lightning -- but that’s something he’s had to practice very minimally so as not to seem threatening to his father.

He’d witnessed things in the Mortal world that seemed to prove otherwise - mother and father happily gathering about the new babe, mother dutifully stoking flames for supper, little son stopping his crying upon the very threshold of his home - but Mora knew what others like to forget: what goes on beyond closed doors is never as pretty as the image put on display.

Royal Verse

Hades has not anger or resentment towards his parents or zeus in this verse.

Shockingly Hades doesn’t feel left out by his family. Even when spending his days in the library or in training on Kronus’ order. There is moments he would rather be doing something else. The feeling never lasted long.

Hades does venture outside without being caroused out by a sibling or one of his parents. He enjoys tending to his gardens that are sectioned off just for him to work on. Cerberis is still fairly small at this point and his snake mane is just coming in so Hades is out more during this time to play with the hound. Hera often joins him on walks with the hound.

Hera is Hades favorite siblings. Often he refers to her as his “favorite.” Before finding out that Prometheus planed to court Hera, Hades use to be his friend. Now he longer speaks to Prometheus and ignores him when possible.

When Zeus was small Hades had his own carrying wrap like his Mother. For some reason the boy felt protective of his baby brother and when possible would carry him around. Still Hades feels over protective of his baby brother at times but, he now is trying to allow space so Zeus can fuck up and learn without Hades being there to help picking things up.

Demeter test Hades’ calm tempter at times but, he adores her none the less. Hestia and Poseidon help bring out Hades more child side and can make him laugh easily.

 By defualt Hades speaks in a monotone ever since he was a child but, when he was passionate about something or was speaking with someone who enjoyed, he would speak not like a weirdo. His voice is deeper then most would assume by his size.

Hades is the most regal of his siblings but, he is still a child of many. It was easy for him to break out into small fights with his siblings if they were all forced into one room together for more than an hour at best.

Emmanuel paused, looking over at Hestia before smirking just a touch, doing his best to not be too terribly pleased with what she just said to him. Or at least, not let it be too obvious, anyways. Chuckling some, Emmanuel reached over and drew his wife in closer, closing his eyes to press a long and lingering kiss to her temple as his hand rubbed up and down along her arm, “Well that’s good cuz… we both know I’m a delight to be around,” he teased, laughing playfully as he dipped down and scooped her up into his arms, grinning that shit eating smile he was so well known for. Though for her… it was always so much softer. 

Bringing her closer, he brought his lips closer to her ear, a bit more of a serious nature rising, “…I love you too,” he murmured quietly, just loud enough for only her to hear.

Ezra gritted their teeth, neck muscles visible as he strained against the pain that pulsed through their whole body. God damn it that hurt! With a snarl ripping from his throat, it was likely far from human at that point, not bothering to hide how his teeth were bared in such a manner the sharper-than-normal canines would be in full view. It was one thing for him to have such a wound in full view to this stranger... but it was another for them to comment on it. It was honestly quite the struggle for Ezra to not snap at them, nostrils flaring as he took in a deep breath through their nose instead. 

Calm down. 

“No... no definitely not..” his words were incredibly gruff and growl like, moving to stand with a building noise of pain that only died down once he was upright and his arm stopped moving. “..Hospital?”
