Gaul, Gallia and Gaelic all refer to Celtic things, but etymologically they're not related in any way. Gaul is related to Wales, Welsh, Cornwall and Walloon instead. Gallia didn't become Gaule in French but Jaille, which survives in toponyms. Here's more.

No colleges (near me) offer the really interesting languages

Like Old English. Or Scottish Gaelic. Or Welsh.

So, I found a Welsh podcast. Bet I could find an Old English one, too, but I've got some readers to get me started on that. I was once told that they've recently (a year ago, I heard this, mind) discovered some old Welsh manuscripts that have never been translated before, and there's only a small handful of people that translate from Old Welsh into English... and they were going--if not already started--to look for up and coming people to help them with all that. It was also suggested to me, with my known love of languages and all things old and Celtic, that it might be beneficial and mightily interesting to look into such a thing.

I won't lie and say the idea of that isn't extremely appealing to me... I often imagine if I could have any job of my choosing, it would definitely include pouring over old tomes and manuscripts and illuminations for one reason or another.

Maybe it's something to start seriously considering.
