Another fella I was really looking forward to in this challenge.
Ithaqua is often interpreted more along the lines of Yeti, but for my part, when I'm told about a Great Old One whose element is ice and snow and who is surrounded by hypothermia and maddening hunger and all the horror that comes with the fear of the cold,
a Wendigo immediately appears in my mind's eye.
The prompt from day 13 that timidly asks for a deer or something similar (?) plays right into my hands :) While cryophobia isn't something that scares me personally, the way this fear is dealt with and played out in stories and pop culture (think Frostpunk, the Thing or even HBO's Terror) is actually the kind of horror that fascinates me - and somehow excites me in a morbid way. Designing a creature that personifies this primal fear - this literally twisted creature with the maw of one so desperate to escape starving, they wouldn't even make a hold for their own kind, limps in the colour of frostbitten flesh and antlers like ice crystals.... - I really had a blast here :D

PS: Those weirdos of you sharing my fascination with this kind of horror, lemme give you a little recommandation on the way:
The magnificent Jacob Geller did this awesome video essay on the topic a few years ago putting into words what I tried here to put into ink.
I in general can just recommend the guy and his content. He has a damn good eye for this kinda stuff :)
