First Impressions of Thailand

So yesterday I moved to Thailand.. It was the first time I have ever been out of the country and probably one of the craziest stunts I have ever pulled. My thoughts are as follows:

1. The billboards are massive.

2. I am the minority.

3. Cab drivers/taxis/public transportation are scarier than the Rock N’ Rollercoaster at Disney World.

4. Everything is so damn cheap! Taxation in America is ridiculous.

5. Yes, there is a Starbucks one block from my hotel. 

6. I will never be fashionable or as thin as the girls here.

7. “Asian” food in America is just American food.

8. The beds are really hard.

9. Jet lag is no joke.

10. It is possible to get lost inside the mall.

Lost

When you lose a friend. Someone you knew for such a long time you felt as if they have been stitched into your soul. It almost destroys you. A beautiful woman given to this world, so suddenly taken away. With a 6 year old daughter, friends, and a degree. God decided to take a light from my life. On Friday February 24, my best friend Favinn passed away. She was a light in any room. Her laugh contagious as she held her tongue in-between her teeth and giggled. Her usual sarcastic greetings as you walked in the door to my barn. Her bright eyes and ability to turn any situation into a good one. She was miraculous woman. A gift from God. Thursday March 2nd, was her funeral. It’s hard to say goodbye to someone you've loved so dearly for the past 4 years. We wear our ribbons proudly this weekend and further on to show our love and respect for you. We will never forget you amazing capability to capture our hearts. Praying for your daughter and family. I love you Favinn... Rest in peace. I will miss you so much. God didn't only gain an angel in his home, but a beautiful, perfect human being.
