Inktober day 2 - Silence

This one would have taken too long in one day so I decided to sleep and to overlap it on several days because I liked it very much (: (might do a few simpler things to make up for the missed days tomorrow)

This time I wanted to study manga Witch Hat Atelier's art, which I love very much and admire a lot ! I own some very beautiful french editions which include extra artworks at the end and choose one of them (displayed in the setup photo) to study and copy, because I wanted to study the way the artist, Kamome Shirahama, did her lines.

My idea for this theme involves a spoiler in tomes like 7-8 (not sure which one) so let's put the rest of the explanation under the plus line.

So I wanted to depict the way Qifrey choose to keep silent and erased Olruggio's memories instead of letting him help him. This scene was striking to me and I'm still so sad about it ! I changed the reference drawing a little to show the hat with the memory spell and slightly different expressions. Unfortunately I don't own the relevant tomes (yet!) so I couldn't find the spell reference. I'll complete it when I have the reference.

I haven't read much farther than that yet so no spoilers please !

I'm happy I got to draw my first Witch Hat Atelier fanart, even if it's just a study c: my lines are not as thin and steady (I suspect they might even have been drawn with a pen with a nib, not a brush as I did ?) but it was very enjoyable to draw and line !

HAHA!! I finally read Witch hat atelier and oh myyyy.... I admit I started to read it for the aesthetics (not because Orluggio look like Suprem Strange noooo...) and so... I’m not disappointed!!!! I love him of course but the WHOLE story and character are adorable too !!! :> Lot of the owl house vibe too!

And omg the bug-brush....
