He sets like the moon and rises like the sun.
This afternoon, during lunch, I felt like crying when I saw a news report on television, presented as positive, about the drop in meat prices.
I cried when I saw my mother reduced to percentages, subjected to degrading handling, cruelty, and disrespect that made me want to vomit.
I'm still crying, trying to find answers as to when it became so common to celebrate violence, but I failed to notice that it has always been this way.
I see no difference in any animal, how could they? I see the protection of some and the exploitation of others; I see them without the slightest remorse in their eyes when they decree the slaughter of my mother more times than I can count.
We created laws to protect humans to fill every hole that threatened our safety, but how many efforts were made to protect all animals without distinction?
Mom, I'm scared, I'm disgusted!
So many people see misery in effort, transforming lust into necessity and the destruction of nature into convenience.
Once again, I implore you, Varaha, protect Bhumi.
Please Varaha, protect Mom, hey Bholenath, protect the animals.
Please Pashupati please, please Narasimha please, please, please
Don't let my mom suffer, please
Some beautiful things I’ve made in the kitchen. All vegan, all me, avec amour!!!

The Veg Passages Blog: The Early Christianity, the Jesus Movement, John the Baptist Sect (Nasoraeans), Mandaeans and Other Gnostics
My Veg Passages blog is intended to serve as a major resource on the web for many seeking greater access to these rare, difficult-to-find veg and vegan passages from early Christianity and related spiritual movements of antiquity (Essenes, John the Baptist Nasoraeans, Mandaeans, Ebionites, Gospel of the Hebrews, Gnostics, Apocryphal texts, church fathers, etc.., along with references from various scholars exploring the evidence for a vegetarian Jesus at the beginning of Christianity! My veg article was recently updated and greatly expanded. Pack a lunch as you'll be there awhile. Lots of plant-based passages from the early years of the Jesus movement await you! There are also a lot of references to John the Baptist.

“All living creatures seek a life of peace, So pass your days on this Earth humanely. Even the heart that beats in an animal’s breast Knows sympathy, brims with love. So look on all living creatures with loving compassion — bring to humanity’s night the light of dawn.” (Sant Darshan Singh poem)
Roots Torn, Truth Forgotten Remembering the Soul of Yoga
A meditation on values, roots, and remembering.
Yoga was never meant to be easy. Not a trend. Not a sale. Not a neatly packaged hour squeezed between meetings.
Yoga has always been a path of return - to essence, to Earth, to the quiet flame of inner knowing.
But as the world shifted, so too did the ways we practise and share it. This is a gentle inquiry - not a judgement - into how our modern systems shape our sacred spaces. And how we, as a community, might remember what lies beneath it all.
A White Yogis Responsibility Right Now.
A few weeks ago I was struggling internally with an issue that I was having. I turned to reddit (which i know was the first mistake there) and it made me even more angry.
I asked the yoga subreddit how they are handling current events on their mats and in their teaching... you know gennocide, ICE murdering innocent folks and kidnapping and tearing away families, the united states invading other countries, millions losing health care, racism, zionism, classism, homophobia, transphobia, prisons, forclosures when banks are being bailed out, and the list just keeps going on. All of this is a lot, and I was seeking advice on how we can incorporate and work through and empower students when all this is going on.
The biggest response I got was "nobody comes to yoga class to be preached at."
I'm sorry but the practice of yoga is inheartenly political, and I'm sorry susan but fuck you, you have no idea what you are talking about because white people yoga is an appropriated, stolen, and bastardized version of yoga that white suburban moms like to use as their numbing agent.
As a white yogi (holding that I practice and teach an appropriated and bastardized version of yoga) I say FUCK THAT. I want to tell all my students this week to wake the fuck up.
The very first Yama is Ahimsa, nonviolence. Nonviolence in thought word or deed. I am sorry, but watching families get torn apart and watching people be murdered and DOING NOTHING is not ahimsa. It's not enough to be non violent yourself, you NEED to be anti violence. And I believe there is such a thing as a non violent fist (or bullet for that matter). It is our duty as yogis to stand up and fight for a world where we lessen the drops of violence and harm into the bucket, if that means protesting striking or even fighting back so that your little bit of harm is creating less harm overall.
The second Yama Satva or truthfullness also tells us that it's time to say something. I am sorry but if you as a yoga student cannot hear that people are being murdered, that we are literally evil, and that we are killing the world and ourselves you are not being truthful to yourself.
I have so many more thoughts but I want to hear from you... what do you think?
