Like, go fucking look at the bill. Read it. Continuously call your senators and representatives. Protest. Email them. Are you pissed about the YouTube age verification thing???? Then you should be scared of it happening to the entire internet. It's not about protecting children. It's about surveillance and control. I feel like I'm screaming at a brick wall.

I reblogged a post a while back about discord having an opt-out clause that they included in their updated terms of service that you had to actually e-mail them to opt-out of their arbitration clause and do it within thirty days of getting an update that requires agreeing to their ToS....

Yahoo! is doing the same thing now, and yes you do have to e-mail them to opt-out and NOT waive your right to a jury trial

I have questions about why, all of a sudden, internet companies feel the compulsion to do this

AND incase anyone tries to yap about how this "won't do anything"...you're right, I doubt this'll change their minds, so here's some other benefits that might convince you to sign!

1: the UK government is supposed to serve it's people! Them ignoring genuine concerns would only look bad on them as a result!

2: it'll spread awareness of these topics, and expose it to more people!

If you still don't wanna do that, then emailing and faxing your MPs works too! So does simply spreading awareness!
