Holdfast: Nations At War Community
I’ve played a lot of games over the years. Too many, probably. Every genre, every setting, every promise of “the best multiplayer experience ever” that usually lasts about a weekend before it collapses into silence or toxicity. So when I say there’s nothing quite like the Holdfast: Nations At War community, I mean it.
Most multiplayer games treat voice and text chat like a liability. Something to be muted, moderated, sterilised. Holdfast does the opposite. It leans into chaos, humour, historical absurdity, and collective nonsense, and the result is genuinely brilliant.
The community is loud, sarcastic, and completely unapologetic. No matter what you do in game chat, someone will respond with a joke, a reference, or an over-the-top patriotic speech delivered with absolute conviction. It never feels mean-spirited. It feels theatrical.
Play as the British and you’ll hear it immediately. I’ve lost count of how many times someone has yelled about fighting for the tea, the Crown, or the King. Redcoats charging into musket fire while belting out mock patriotism like they’re auditioning for a historically inaccurate stage play. It’s ridiculous, and that’s exactly why it works.
Switch to France and the tone flips instantly. Suddenly it’s “Long live the revolution,” cries of liberty, exaggerated accents, and dramatic speeches about overthrowing tyranny. The jokes change, the energy changes, but the commitment stays the same. Everyone understands the assignment. You’re not just playing a faction, you’re playing a role.
That’s the magic of Holdfast. The community doesn’t just inhabit the game, it performs it. The humour comes naturally because the setting invites it. Line battles, bayonet charges, naval chaos, all underscored by players who know that half the fun is leaning into the absurdity of it all.
In an era where online games feel increasingly corporate, cautious, and joyless, Holdfast feels refreshingly human. Messy, loud, unserious, and deeply entertaining. It reminds you that multiplayer games are at their best when people stop trying to win at all costs and start trying to have a good time together.
I’ve played many games. I’ll play many more. But communities like this are rare, and when you find one, you notice it immediately.
Long may it last.

Why I made this blog!
Truly cannot begin this with anything else I believe.
Ever since I was a little girl ive grown up being encouraged to play by my father and older brother. As a child I would spend hours watching my brother play all sort of games; from shooters, to story telling games.
So as you can guess, I grew up and started developing a separate love for games: meaning I started collecting my own consoles, videogames and merch.
Growing up in this perfect enviroment for self expression I was not aware of all the misogyny that goes around in the gaming community, so it all hit really hard when I was around 9, casually chatting with a classmate. Hobbies were brought up...and I was lectured as to why girls were not fit to game.
I was extremely puzzled, as I, in the most non-bragging way, have always been good at most games and have never had much trouble beating anything, even as a kid.
Me being me, I stopped talking to that kid altogether, but it really stuck with me for years, even now it comes back to haunt me from time to time. The thought of a kid having such ideas saddens me.
Once I became older and started being more involved in online gaming, I was met with the same discourse over and over again. You'll find more than half the time, my only mistake was letting myself be percieved as female in lobbies, which led to very uncomfortable situations.
Ive always been a hyper femenine girl, so you could guess this would reflect on my game accounts, even now I still do it because I refuse to have to hide myself in order not to get harassed.
It's exhausting; honestly! Always having to prove yourself, that you're worthy of a space...always being invited to 1v1 as a way to try and humiliate you, you win and suddenly you're 'good for a girl' or 'they were just joking'. 'Show me your game hours!' 'Give the controller back to (insert male figure here)'
I'll be damned if I ever allow someone that started gaming at 15 to discourage me from doing the hobby ive been enjoying ever since I can remember.
Anyway...villain backstories aside, the whole reason I made this blog was to:
1.Have a creative outlet for myself so that I can remember small bits from my games and also show my drawings, and other hobbies from time to time.
2.Give visibility to female gaming in it's most cutesy and fem shape, even if i recieve like two views LOL.
That being said, thanks for sticking by, and to all my fellow girl gamers: enjoy gaming however the hell you want, make it pink, blue, purple or green! Don't let anybody dictate what you do or how you do it.
Love,
Eva

I Tried to Survive 1 Hour on Donut SMP My Discord Dared Me to Survive 1 Hour on Donut SMP... So yeah, this was a terrible idea. Donut SMP is absolute chaos, it's full-on PvP, barely any rules, and players who love making your life miserable. The second you spawn, you're a target. And for some reason, my Discord thought it’d be funny to dare me to survive a full hour. No gear. No help. Just me, a fresh spawn, and one goal, don't die. Can I actually make it, or will I end up as just another death message in chat? ✅ Subscribe To My Channel For More Videos: https://www.youtube.com/@Brogan2k/?sub_confirmation=1 ✅ Stay Connected With Me: 👉 Twitch: https://ift.tt/haDSf87 👉 Discord: https://ift.tt/Bwp2oZj 👉 TikTok: https://ift.tt/OPjr6gh 👉 (X)Twitter: https://ift.tt/nL3CvyU ============================== ✅ Other Videos You Might Be Interested In Watching: 👉 Iron Farm That Works Beautifully in Minecraft https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN7ivjoAwmY 👉 This Minecraft Server Is a Game-Changer! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjZ2mu7efEw 👉 The Top Minecraft Server You Should Join https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UqxYj1m9j8 👉 Fastest Growing Minecraft Server You Should Join Now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSPF954lbUE ===================== 🔎 Related Phrases: Donut SMP Hardcore Challenge, Surviving on Donut SMP, Minecraft Hardcore PvP, One Hour Minecraft Survival, Playing Donut SMP for the First Time, Minecraft Survival Challenge, Most Dangerous Minecraft Server, Noob on Donut SMP, Minecraft PvP Chaos, Donut SMP Base Building, Minecraft Death Trap Moments, Minecraft Hardcore Survival, Surviving PvP Servers, Minecraft Hardcore Experience, Minecraft PvP Server Challenge #DonutSMP #MinecraftSurvival #HardcoreMinecraft #MinecraftPvP #DonutSMPChallenge #MinecraftHardcore #MinecraftChaos #PvPMinecraft #MinecraftServerSurvival #1HourChallenge #MinecraftGaming #SurviveDonutSMP #MinecraftFails #MinecraftMoments #FirstTimeOnDonutSMP via Brogan https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm8NjGgWWhpBxBxMHJPNihQ May 13, 2025 at 10:01PM
