What we should be like
Like Christ who:
-devour in the word and spent His time studying scriptures;
-teaches the word and always seen in the house of His Father;
-has disciples;
-intercedes and always talks to His Father;
-did not depart from the word of God.
-heals and performs miraculous things;
-humbles Himself, though He is God, He did not consider Himself important but what's important is to fulfill the will of His Father in Heaven;
-was persecuted for the good reason
-was suffered for the Salvation of mankind;
-was obedient to the voice of His Father in Heaven.
and this is what we should be like...
to be like Christ and Christ be seen in our life!
To be like Christ:
We are called to be like Christ in every way. Designed to be like Christ and purposed to be like Christ. That we are not called to share in faith and believe in Christ only but to suffer also for His sake.
Abolish our self-centeredness and embrace to be
Christ-centered.
Keep the faith and keep on believing
JOHN 14 (V1) DO NOT LET YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED (DISTRESSED, AGITATED). YOU BELIEVE IN AND ADHERE TO AND TRUST IN AND RELY ON GOD; BELIEVE IN AND ADHERE TO AND TRUST IN AND RELY ALSO IN ME.
Faith is believing! The Lord works in our lives, never let your heart be agitated. Jesus is true in His words and He never fails. KEEP THE FAITH AND KEEP ON BELIEVING in Jesus. Testing and trial comes for the application of what we have learned in Christ. These test proves the great power of the Lord. We know that He is mighty to save. And His Saving Power never ends! When you fail today, get up and try it again. When you fail once more, get up and try it again. Again and again until you get it right. Again and again until you’ve learned it right. Again and again until you habitually do what is right.
Do not let your hearts be troubled because the Lord has already prepared your way. He has prepared your home. He already said to you your future. The only thing you have to do right now is hold on to the faith you have in Christ. Embrace the everlasting love of God. And know that when you firmly stay in the core of God because of the vehement love you have in Him, you’ll never be moved, you’ll never be shaken. You know the way because God has revealed it to you. Just trust in Him and never allow the threats of satan disturb your firm faith and focus to God.
Let God be glorified through our bodies.
Jesus said to His disciple: “If any of you wants to be my followers, you must forget about yourself. You must take up your cross and FOLLOW me.”
We carry the Name of Jesus, let His nature be an evidence and be exposed in our daily lives.
Therefore I always exercise and discipline myself [mortifying my body, deadening my carnal affections, bodily appetites, and worldly desires, endeavoring in all respects] to have a clear (unshaken, blameless) conscience, void of offense toward God and toward men.
-Acts 24:16-
"exercise one thing and you will develop many things." As 2 Peter 1:5-8 tells us of exercising from faith to Christian love. This week, the Lord gave me a word and that was "discipline". As for what is presently happening in my life I ask Him what to do with it. How can I have a review and work at the same day or should I say at the same time. Then God who is the God of wisdom and good strategy told me "exercise" and "discipline". Surely, He wouldn't want me to be in this situation without a cause. My hope is upon the Lord, I KNOW he won't disappoint.
"meditate the word of God day and night."
His word is gentle and yes is easy to bear. A person physically exercise to keep his body firm, stamina strong and maintain a healthy body. They discipline themselves in what food to eat. God is glorified whenever we take good care with our body. "Love God with all your mind, heart, BODY, soul, strength, might, (the whole of your being)"[paraphrased]. A person spiritually exercise as well. Keeping his spiritual man healthy, active and alive. Because it is by the spirit that we can commune with the Lord. The Spirit hears, feels, talks with the Lord. And the Scripture tells that we shouldn't grieve the Holy Spirit. Grieving the Holy Spirit is when we resists Him. It is when we resists His ideas or commands or when He speaks to us and yet we choose our own wants and necessities. Always exercise the word of God and develop a heavenly discipline. Having a good conscience void of offense to God first and void of offense to man follows.
