I wanna write for Loki (One Piece) but I'm not super confident with writing him yet and I wanna practice sooo
I'm opening my requests! If you have any Loki fic requests, pls go ahead and put in an ask ^^ Although I do not promise that I will write all the requests, I do want to try my hand at as many as I can. I'd prefer shorter fic requests but you can be as specific as you want! I've read all the way upto 1183, and keep up with the manga. If you haven't caught up/don't want spoilers, just mention where you've reached :)
(if you wanna be tagged in my Loki fics, lmk!)
(also for my previous followers seeing tjis, requests are open only for Loki fics, not Sanji and Ace rn ^^)
some Loki x reader who was a tenryuubito slave maybe?
hi, sorry, my requests are closed since June 5th! since my college is starting soon I decided to close them as I won't have the time to take on any requests.
if I do open them again, please feel free to request ^^ thank you for the interest!
I wonder why is it that when my requests are open, I don't get any, but after I have closed them, I start getting more than I did when they were open 😭 guys my requests are CLOSED now !! sorry but my college is starting again so I closed them, pls check the bio before you request, or even my masterlist, or even the post I made;;
I am absolutely terrible at declining requests, I feel really bad so please check before you send requests :((
Same anon from the first Loki prompt I love that guy so much so I might send in a lot of reqs sorry. Imagine reader just doesn't care how mean Loki is cuz they know deep down he doesn't mean it, and the more they star the more Loki falls in love with them so in a last ditch attempt he tries to push them away by showing them his eyes and reader is like "...you have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen." Fuck they're so cute together

You were… strange, for a weak human.
Loki knew that strong and powerful humans did not care for the fact that he was a Giant, because they could fight him. Weak humans were always afraid of him, because Loki knew he spelt mischief and trouble even for other Giants. But you, despite being a puny human, seemed so unmoved by his threats and Loki didn't know what to make of it.
Every time you would visit, Loki spoke meanly because he didn't know how to get you to fear him. You had the audacity to laugh and smile brightly whenever he said that he didn't care, and somehow, at some point, your laugh had become the only source of sunshine in the Underworld.
Loki would never admit to you that he likes seeing you laugh. Something about your unfiltered joy that was never cruel made his heart beat a little faster. You never laughed at him, or think that he was fearsome, or even think that he was disgusting for what the whole of Elbaph knew he had done.
In fact, you even avoided the topic yourself, only choosing to give him quiet smiles whenever the topic got brought up, only to switch to something else the next minute. From the way you always reacted though, Loki assumed that you either knew and just did not care, or you did not know and didn't want to speak on something you were ignorant about.
He didn't know which one he wanted it to be.
Being chained in the Underworld would have been a lonely exercise if Loki had ever truly had friends. But he had not, and the only difference it made was that Loki wasn't able to move and do all the things he wanted to. So he never thought himself lonely, only oppressed, until you came into his life.
He didn't know when he started to look forward to your visits. You would come every now and then, for no reason but to keep him company. And it felt nice that someone could enjoy just talking to him, that someone could enjoy just hanging out with him. That's what he had always heard a 'friend' is like.
Nobody on Elbaph liked him or ever wanted to spend time with him. Loki knew he could never be loved, and so he had never tried to work for it either. If nobody liked him, then he would give them a reason not to. It made sense, and it worked, until you.
Somehow, nothing he did could make you dislike him. And that was dangerous for his heart, which was falling steadily but surely in love with you.
How he wished to have his hands unchained, only to hold you in them. How he wished to be free of his demons to give you the quiet peaceful life you dreamed of. How he wished he could be the one to give you all the joy and happiness—but he was not. Loki could never be that.
The smart thing would have been to never ever fall for you. But it was already too late for that.
The next best thing he could do was push you away. If you would just stop coming, maybe he would have a chance to move on. The first and last time he had fallen for someone, it had ended in rejection. Now, in love with you, the ending would still be the same.
The next time you visited him, Loki knew what he had to do. There was one thing that made everyone scream in horror and disgust upon seeing him.
His eyes that marked him a demon, as a cursed creature of bad luck, would also help him drive you away. The very eyes that has broken his heart time and again would now help to protect it. The irony of it all made Loki laugh to himself.
"What are we laughing at?" You asked as you settled yourself on his right thigh so you could face him. Loki didn't know that you had avoided sitting on his shoulder recently because you couldn't stop getting flustered by how handsome he looked so up close. The intimacy had your heart jack-rabbiting and you didn't want Loki to know.
"At how weak you are," Loki retorted. You snorted in amusement because wow, that was bad even for him.
"Good thing I have a big strong Giant to save me then, right?" You teased, nudging the boundaries to see if Loki could truly be interested in you. The words flustered Loki because yeah, he liked the idea of being the one to protect you, to be so strong that you would be free to do as you wish because you knew he would not let anything stop you.
But no. You couldn't possibly mean any of that. And even if you did, you would not mean it any more after seeing him.
"You once asked me," Loki paused, unsure how to word it. His hesitance drew your attention and concern, because Loki was brash and blunt and straightforward. "If I told you that you could see my eyes, would you climb upon my shoulder again to undo the bandages?"
"Huh?" You flushed at his words. No matter how you tried, that sounded like Loki wanted you on his shoulders again, up close and near to him. But the fact that he wanted you to see his eyes… That was more shocking than anything you had come across in Elbaph in your three years. "D- Do you want me to?"
"Yes," Loki said, jutting his chin upwards with a grit to his teeth. He didn't seem happy, and that made you frown even as you climbed up to remove the bandages. The thick white strips were tied tightly over his long locks, and it took you a fair bit to undo them fully. Tugging it off, you stepped back and slid down to his thigh to face Loki, finally taking in his eyes, his full face.
Nothing about the black sclera was like anything you had seen before. The golden irises with dark slits bored into you and Loki demanded, "Well?"
"You have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen," the words spilled out of you before you could even stop to think about them. They were honest, and true, and the words of your heart, because they truly were so beautiful. "I have never seen anything like them but… Should I consider it Nika's blessing that I got the chance to see them? You truly are so handsome, Loki."
Loki was frozen still, his lips parted in disbelief and eyes widened in shock. You only stepped closer to see them even better, wondering how anyone could look as he did—so clearly not of this world, beautiful in a way that would haunt your waking dreams.
"You do not mean that," Loki's voice was weak, but his words made you huff out a short laugh that you tried to hide in a smile.
"Whatever do you mean?" You asked, placing a tiny hand on his stomach, right beside his abs. "You know I have never lied to you."
"They are the eyes of the devil," he spit, looking angry and hurt and devastated, and your heart lurched in response to the pain visible on his face. "They mark me—they are the signs that I am accursed, not meant to be loved or to love in return."
"Impossible," you shook your head, jutting your own chin upwards in anger and determination. "They are beautiful, Loki. The loveliest eyes I have ever seen, because I can see every emotion you hide from me in them. I can see you in them. They are proof that you can love, and be loved, for who you are, as you are."
Loki only stared at you, and you stared back, firm in your stance as you waited for him to refute you.
"Marry me."
The words nearly sent you tumbling, at their unexpectedness and at the breathless quality with which they were spoken. Loki was smiling, not his usual smirk, but this soft and gentle smile you had never seen before.
"W- What?" You squeaked, panicking that you may have possibly misheard him. Loki tilted his head just so, and so close with his gorgeous eyes staring down at you so intensely, you found yourself unable to breath or even think.
"I don't think I can stop falling in love anymore."

When you were writing fics with self-insert or y/n character, did you use your personal experience for the y/n? Did writing those are more difficult than writing "normal" fanfics? I tried to write a y/n fic but it never felt clicked
ooh, that's an interesting question!
for me personally, I have been writing reader insert fics since I was 13, maybe even earlier, so I have never thought about it deeply. I don't find it more difficult, but I would say it is a little different than writing a third person fic for many.
I tend to write all my fics regardless of their pov, from my own feelings towards the character and world. When I write a character/reader fic, I write through the lens of someone who is truly in love with that character as a person, who sees their flaws and beauty. But because my own lens would limit the words I could write for the character, I like to make sure that there are different ways to show that love.
Reader insert is a broad concept. It is difficult to write a consistent character that is vague enough to be projected upon, yet consistent enough to write a coherent story. I try not to put pressure on myself to make it vague, and instead attempt to give the reader character (y/n) some values or goals, or perhaps a personality, that I feel would complement the love interest character.
Sometimes I do write y/n like how I would personally react, and sometimes I write it very differently. To me, writing a reader insert fic is an excuse to write a love letter to the character I deeply love. To shower them with my love and care and understanding.
I don't think reader fics are for everyone, but if you enjoy reading them, then I believe you can also enjoy writing them. Maybe they just never clicked for you because you found it difficult to write a blank character like that. As long as you don't make it too specific, you can make up a character with 40% personality and make that into your y/n!
After all, a y/n without any personality is hardly fun to read or write :)
fir you are the best and sweetest 😭💕 I really wasn't expecting anything but every year without fail you give me such beautiful gifts and I'm :(( I love you so much, thank you for this!! <33
Yuuki looks absolutely gorgeous, I love the art so so much, this is amazing ❤️
this has nothing to do with this pseud/acc but I just cannot believe that I am already 22. the age itself feels still like a child to me, but when I pause and think abt it, there are people my age out there living alone, paying their own bills, or working hard to survive—things I find so scary and difficult to do. I have had the privilege of comfort and safety net in my parents for all my life and yet I have my own inner struggles.
This account has been a sort of happy place for me. I just want to take this moment to appreciate and thank everyone who has followed this pseud, whether it's for my One Piece fics, or for my subtitle work for Idaten Jump, or something else entirely.
Hiiii, can you do a Sanji x fem reader who usually wears baggy clothes but Nami convinced her to wear a bathing suit and tan with her and robin on the deck

The council should really stop meddling, in your opinion.
Being born with Ancient Giant traces in your lineage, you knew the perceptions of your kind better than anyone else. The idea of being 'pure-blooded' for the royal line was quite an outdated idea, really. You did not want any part of it, but when Prince Loki proposed marriage to Big Mom's child of all people, the council panicked and immediately put pressure on King Harald to set his marriage up with a Giant having Ancient Giant blood in them.
King Harald did not want to engage his son to anyone, knowing full well himself what such a marriage could lead to, and yet he could not completely overthrow the council's… 'kind advice.' And though you had no respect for the council's whims and demands, you did have great respect for King Harald. In an attempt to retain some power over the decision making, King Harald had gone through all the possible candidates (a measly three) and chosen you, for you were the only one actually around Loki's age.
Not to mention, you supported King Harald's views on Elbaph's future. When he had learnt that, there was unmistakeable relief on his features, and you couldn't help but wonder if he truly thought you could make a difference. Prince Loki was well-known for his bigoted and elitist views, claiming Giant supremacy. And yet, he has proposed to Charlotte Lola, who was notably not a Giant—which made you wonder.
It had been two years since she had run away from the marriage, but to Giants, that wasn't as long. He could still be nursing a broken heart, and you did not want to impose yourself on him in any case. An arranged marriage for the purity of maintaining the royal bloodline was the last thing he needed after such a rejection, you thought.
But King Harald had requested you personally, and you were unable to refuse.
So here you were now, waiting with the King and the council to meet the man you were going to be betrothed to. The throne room was filled with the incoherent whispers of those old meddlers, and you could not bring yourself to look at King Harald. He did not want this any more than you did, but between the two of you, there was still this sense of awkwardness brought forth by the fact that you were only agreeing to this for the sake of the respect you held for him.
After all, Loki was truly your opposite. It was impossible for him to agree to marry you, who was so different to him.
The doors to the throne room banged open, startling you out of your thoughts, and the Prince finally barged in. You were already irritated by how long he had made you wait, having no respect for your time, and it only compounded upon seeing the glare he immediately sent you as if you had planned all of this.
"I refuse!" He announced immediately. You couldn't stop yourself from rolling your eyes in time, and decided to commit to it by folding your arms over your chest. Let him know you were not begging to marry him either; it was the last thing you wanted.
"Loki," King Harald immediately tried to placate him, but the council, ignorant and arrogant as they were, interrupted him to regale all of you once again with the speech on how it was important to maintain the sanctity of the royal bloodline. When they started talking about how you must marry and bear children for this great honour, your mouth twisted into a look of disgust even Loki's couldn't match. The two of you were only 45, in your Giant equivalent of what the humans called 'teens.' You were both impressed and disgusted by how clinical they could be about uttering such garbage, but if King Harald couldn't throw them out, then you were even more powerless.
"Why are you acting like you don't know the end result of this insanity?" Loki roared, glaring at his father but pointing at you. You swallowed the urge to speak up, because the adults had all warned you to let them deal with him first.
Everyone knew how Queen Estrid had denounced her own son for he was born with demonic eyes. You never liked her, or the fact that she could so easily abandon her own child over something so inconsequential. How unfeeling and selfish does a person have to be to do that?
Loki's claims had basis. You could have been just like her, like one of those other Giants who only care about the title and the power. But the truth was you did not care for that—you only wanted to live a peaceful and happy life on Elbaph, learning and teaching and shaping this land into one where knowledge, culture, history and love bound people.
"Prince Loki, argument is futile," one of the council spoke up, unfazed by his anger. "This is your duty, the one you have been bound to since before your birth."
"And you want my future child to be bound to this ridiculous notion as well?" He hissed, and you could truly understand his anger in that. Honestly though, if you became Queen, you would try your level best to abolish the council first and foremost; they were far too meddlesome and powerful for your liking.
"Enough!" King Harald boomed, shutting up both sides. "Loki, the blood you claim to take so much pride in was the result of my marriage with Estrid. Our beliefs aside, there are certain duties we are bound to for the sake of Warland. And because I did not want you to suffer as I did, I chose the one you are going to marry. You will not be disappointed, of that I can assure you."
You laughed mirthlessly and soundlessly at the words; there was nothing harder than to please Prince Loki. For him to be not disappointed, for him to be okay with you, was a pipe dream at best.
"Talk amongst yourselves before you refuse," King Harald growled. He promptly stood up and left, leaving the throne room. Loki sent you one last glare before stomping out himself. You wondered if it would be okay for you to ignore the king's order and tried to make your way to the door.
The council stopped you in your tracks, and you tried not to let your disdain of them show, but their words made it all quite too difficult.
"You would do well to remember what is at stake, child."
A threat to your family, to your village, to all those you held close—all simply because they happened to be subjects of Warland, and these old jerks happened to hold sway over them all.
You were against violence, and you did not believe in the crap that Giants have inherently violent tendencies. But these people, they made you wish that you didn't advocate for peace—just so you could punch them to the next century. No, next millenium. May mother nature swallow their flesh and bone before they could wake up.
"Prince Loki, wait!" You called out after him. He had already walked quite a distance, the palace left far behind as he made his way to the underworld. Loki ignored you in favour of slipping down to the snow covered hellscape. You ran after him, cursing under your breath as you found yourself in the snow covered underworld.
And yet all you could do in your position was nod and not let any of your thoughts show on your face. They filed out, leaving you standing in the empty throne room, reminding you that even at your best, you were going to be all alone in this.
•
"Stop following me," Loki snarled, finally stopping in his tracks. You huffed out a breath as you finally stood across him, hands on your hips.
"I do not desire this marriage any more than you do, Prince Loki," you offered him a plain smile. He stilled at those words, and you briefly wondered how his expression must have changed beneath the bandages. "I cannot imagine how difficult this must be for you, so soon after…"
You trailed off, unsure how to word it. Loki tensed, his body dropping into a defensive posture.
"Do not speak of things you do not know," he warned, and you decided to switch tracks.
"But we are duty bound," you whispered, looking down at your own palms. "I cannot fight against the council, and neither can you. Though we share no love, I believe it would be in our best interests to play our parts. I will not bind you to the duties of a spouse, so long as you do not beholden me to the same. We can be engaged in name alone, until we can figure out a way to circumvent–"
"Or," Loki interrupted, a smirk on his face, "I could beat you up, and then no one would insist we marry."
You paused, taking a second to scrutinise if this was a terrible attempt at a joke, or if he was being serious. You didn't have the luxury to truly wonder though, because Loki pounced on you the very next moment, and your instincts kicked in to dodge his attacks.
With every punch and kick that you dodged, Loki's expression changed. He had thought that you, who advocated for that peaceful nonsense crap, would not know how to fight. It wasn't his brightest idea, but Loki had thought that if he just managed to hurt you a bit, you would not stand to be married to him and the council and his father would have to change their minds.
He hadn't expected you to know how to fight, though you were refusing to fight back. You were carefully only dodging his blows, on your defence. And that sent a thrill up his spine, as he wondered how he could make you fight back.
"Stop holding back," he said, unable to hide the excitement in his voice as you once again dodged him with the kind of ease that spoke of consistent training. "Fight me back!"
"Prince Loki, I do not wish to fight you," you replied, barely ducking in time to avoid the swipe he attempted. "You know I have no interest in violence for the sake of violence!"
"And yet you are unexpectedly good at fighting," he pointed out, not toning down his advances in the least. You scowled at his relentless pursuit.
"Knowing how to defend yourself is a skill I believe every Giant should know regardless of who and where they are."
"And this doesn't go against your no violence nonsense?" He asked, finally slowing down to challenge you in a verbal argument. You huffed, straightening out your hair and clothing before you answered.
"I believe that Giants are not inherently violent," you explained. "However, what I truly advocate is the freedom of choice. I do not want our future generations to grow up believing that fighting is in their blood and so that is the only end they can have. I want an Elbaph full of Giants who are learned, who are strong enough to defend themselves, and who have the knowledge to make a choice about what they truly want to do. I do not agree with all of King Harald's changes such as completely erasing fighting skills from the children's curriculum, but I still admire him for at least taking a step in that direction. Not everything is black and white, Prince Loki."
"So that's your grand plan for when you become Queen?" Loki's voice was strange, and not for the first time, you wished you could see his eyes, if only so that his face would tell what he was truly thinking.
"No, that is my wish as a citizen of Warland, as a Giant of Elbaph," you corrected him. "If you would stop fighting me, and agree to this arrangement, I might become the Queen. But that is not for a long time. Even if I do not become the Queen, I want to do my best for this wonderful land we have been fortunate to be born on."
Loki was silent for a few seconds, then snorted. "You speak a bunch of fancy crap. Whatever. I guess I can tolerate this… arrangement, as you put it."
You blinked, staring after him as the prince walked off. The words took a few seconds to click, but when you finally understood, you gave a sigh of relief.
Somehow, your betrothal turns into an excuse for Loki to spar with you. Eventually he wears you down and you start fighting back, treating it as good training for the both of you. It becomes your thing, with the two of you ignoring the topic of marriage and simply engaging in fighting. Although Loki was still the brash, violent, and crude prince you knew him as, there was a shift in how you saw him.
"You better be back here tomorrow to fight me for real," Loki called out from the distance. "If I don't find you here for a spar, I can't say if I would be able to tolerate the arrangement anymore."
•
Maybe because of the difference in distance, maybe because there was this strange satisfaction in outsmarting him, or maybe because you got to see his cocky smirk from up close so often—you found your heart beating a little faster than normal.
And though Loki would never say it, he found himself enjoying the time spent around you too. You didn't seem to care about his reputation as the problem prince, and… surprisingly, you didn't seem to care about his eyes either. In fact, you seemed to even like them.
It started off innocently enough.
In one of your sparring sessions, you had nicked his bandages, causing them to tear. Loki's hands automatically came up to hold them in place, but that was all the gap you needed to topple him down, and then you were bracketing his waist, with your sword pointed at his throat; and Loki's face was fully visible, his eyes widened in surprise. Your own eyes had widened for a brief second in shock, but your smug smile did not drop.
"It's my win, handsome," you teased him. You had figured out that Loki could get surprisingly flustered with certain compliments. Although he was arrogant enough to not blink at compliments about his strength, he was weirdly cagey about compliments to his looks and to his personality. You had seen his eyes and yet teased him like that, and Loki frowned, thinking that your words must hold no weight. Empty praises to get a rise out of him, that's all they were.
And so he had averted his gaze until you clambered off and held out your hand to help him get up. He ignored it in favour of retying his bandages. You pouted and walked off, murmuring, "What a shame."
Loki paused at the words, unsure why your behaviour seemed to jab something inside him. He did not care for others' opinions of him, and you were no different. Right? If you found his eyes as disgusting as his mother had, as everyone else did, you would be no different.
But the next day, you nicked his bandages off again, and the smile on your face was somehow brighter than before. It did not seem like his eyes mattered to you. The way you saw him, the way you acted around him, none of it changed. If anything, you seemed to smile at him more when his eyes were exposed.
Still, he kept them covered. Somehow, his eyes remaining open made him feel vulnerable. Like you could read him, and see through to his soul whenever your eyes met.
He was more careful with his bandages from then on, and the sparring sessions seemed to build up a different kind of tension from before, the distance between you two diminishing so that you were pressed up against each other more often than not. Yet both of you hesitated to act on anything, and Loki would end up speaking harshly afterwards, as if to balance it out.
You never seemed to be hurt by his words, but one day, his words must have been particularly harsh because you had this expression that he never wished to see again. You had thrown your sword at him, and by the time he got up from dodging it, you had walked off faster than ever before. Loki found himself following you quietly, and was surprised to find you at Ida's empty, closed bar.
"Oh no, sweetheart, what's wrong?" The older Giant was always sweet and kind to you, and you sought her comfort and advice when things became tough. Your family and village had some outdated ideas about how to deal with the engagement (re: seducing the young prince), but Ida seemed to be on the same page as you.
"'S nothing," you mumbled, asking her for a drink. "Loki is being an ass again."
"Ah," Ida smiled knowingly, not speaking anything more as she wiped down a glass for you.
"How are you?" You asked, hoping to change the topic. Ida seemed to be slightly sick these days, and you worried for her health. She returned an exhausted smile.
"Same old, same old," she tried to reassure you, but seeing you frown, she tried to change tactics. "Think I could see a marriage anytime before I get well?"
You snorted, joking, "If you set me up with Hajruddin maybe."
Loki, who was totally not eavesdropping on you two from the window, froze at the words.
"Then I can finally be your daughter-in-law and you will let me take care of you whenever you get sick," you teased her.
"Nope, not even then," she whacked you lightly on your head with her towel. "And between us two, you know I know that you wouldn't really be happy with my eldest son."
"I don't know what you are talking about," you grumbled, looking out the window. "Liking Loki sounds more like a painful experience than however love is supposed to be. Nothing like what you and King Harald have."
Loki decided that he had heard enough; for some reason, his chest felt funny at your words, and there was an uneasy pit in his stomach at the thought of you marrying Hajruddin. It didn't make sense because he hadn't really wanted to marry you, but at this point, it felt more foolish to deny it.
Somewhere along the two some years he had gotten to know you, he had started liking you. And the truth was that Prince Loki of Elbaph, who had given up on love right after his birth, knew all too well that love was not something he was worthy of. A pure love was not something he would ever receive. Not when his own mother could not love him.
So how could you? Maybe you would really be happier with Hajruddin. And wasn't that an ugly thought?
Even if you would be happier with him, Loki didn't want to give you up. So what if you like Hajruddin better? So did everybody else on Elbaph. And yet you were betrothed to him, to Loki. So he just had to make you stay.
You never figured out what changed, or why, but Loki stopped saying mean and harsh things to you. Instead he would awkwardly break off the tension to escape conversation. You were left watching him in confusion every time, wondering if this was some weird truce he was trying at. Then you thought, nah, that can't be.
Prince Loki was not worthy of love, in his own eyes. But he could try to become worthy to one Giant. To you.

But you noticed the changes more and more as time passed. The way Loki was relaxed around you. The way he would hold back in the spars to never let anything even accidentally hurt you. The way he let you touch him, sometimes even initiating contact. The way he asked questions and listened to you talk about your ideas.
And you didn't understand what was going on, but you couldn't say you disliked it. He was still gruff and rough and said things he didn't quite mean, because he would always do the opposite—but he was trying to be nicer, and if you pointed it out, he would just get angry and stop, so you didn't.
You just tried to show your support through your actions. Smiling more at him, bringing him food sometimes, leaning into his side when he let you, and once even telling him that you really liked his eyes so if he wanted to remove the bandages just around you, he could do it.
The silence at your words had been deafening, as you wondered if you had crossed a line you shouldn't have, but then he removed the bandages, and you noticed the pink in his cheeks and realised—Loki was shy. And his eyes looked a little scared and a little disbelieving, but you just gave him a soft smile and said, "They suit you well, my prince."
Things were going so well, you thought that within a few years, you might actually get married. And the impending marriage didn't feel that damning anymore, not when you found yourself falling in love, not when you felt Loki reciprocating in his own actions.
Though you both ignored talking about it, you dreamed about a future where you could be married and happy. Where he might be king, and you might be queen, and you shaped Elbaph into the greatness King Harald had kick-started.
And you thought that it would be nice to go out and explore what is out there for yourself so you could do more good as a Queen someday. So you requested to get on a cargo ship that conducted trade with some of the neighbouring and allied islands. The council wasn't happy but Loki agreed and so did King Harald and so you set sail, thrumming with excitement to learn and come home with enough courage to let Loki know how you really felt.
But good things never last. You should have known that.
When you returned to Elbaph 3 years later, you had lost too much. You lost Ida. Loki destroyed Brewers village, and your village immediately retracted the marriage arrangement because they feared they would be next. And then King Harald died, and everyone said it was Loki who killed him, calling him the shame of Elbaph, while you watched everything you had dreamed about crumble one after the other.
Nothing made sense. It was difficult to even look at Hajruddin, when you could feel his anger and grief, and you couldn't agree with him. It was difficult to stand in front of Ida and Harald's graves, not knowing what to say. It was difficult to face your village without feeling like you were living different lives, with very different priorities and goals.
Time doesn't heal much when you are burdened with questions and no answers. It only taught you to make peace with having the questions unanswered, especially since Loki had long left Elbaph and you doubted he would ever come back.
But he was brought back eventually. The Red-haired Emperor of the Sea brought him back and Chief Jarul had him chained up in the Underworld. You wanted to see him, but the decision to not execute him struck you as odd, and you decided to confront the oldest Giant in Elbaph first before you went down.
Chief Jarul had denied answering you before when you had questioned him, but this time he finally relented and told you the truth of what had happened. And everything fell into place once more, because yeah, that sounded more like the Loki you knew.
So you went down to the Underworld to face the prince who had left Elbaph to go destroy the World Government. Seeing him chained and bruised up, you couldn't help the small gasp that left you. Loki had always held such an imposing figure in front of you, full of strength and power, that it was jarring to see him defeated and wounded.
He tensed upon seeing you and smiled derisively.
"Come to mock me, have you?" He asked, and it was like the first time you had met all over again. You ignored him in favour of running your fingers over his bruises. Loki flinched at the featherlight touch, the sea-stone chains jangling from the movement. "No? Ah, then you must be here because of that stupid arrangement."
You paused in your ministrations to raise an eyebrow at him.
"Maybe you are a little out of touch," he hissed, his mocking smile never waning. "You are free now. This sham marriage they tried to push on you is done with, so you don't have to keep trying. You got what you want, so go and live out your life however you wanted to!"
And really, did he think he was a good actor? You really weren't very impressed with his attempts. Tilting your head at him, you smiled back at him in the same way you had before you had left Elbaph. The sight made him freeze, as always.
"I'm afraid that what I want," you said carefully, bringing a hand up to undo the bandages covering his eyes, "is chained up in the Underworld at the moment."
Loki's breath hitched, and you saw him open his mouth to probably barrage you with insults and mean taunts that had once upon a time hurt your young heart. But you knew better now, and you knew what he was truly like, what he truly meant to say beneath crude words.
"You cannot be rid of me, Prince Loki," you said sweetly, your own smile taking an edge as you finally slipped off the bandages. Loki's eyes were wide in shock and disbelief. You brushed your thumb over his left cheek, right under his eye, and continued, "So what if they had arranged this marriage first? There's no rule saying that I can't marry you of my own accord. If anything, their arrangement shows how perfect I am; they cannot deny me on the basis of my status or who I am."
"You…" Loki seemed to be stunned speechless, and the sight of him like that made you laugh softly. "I don't want you. You give yourself too much credit. You have no place in my ambitions. I am Prince Loki, the Sun God, and I will destroy the world!"
"Okay," you agreed, still giving him a loving smile. "Let's destroy the world together. I know what happened 7 years ago. I have a score to settle with those World Government people too."
"You, you hate violence." Loki tried to say it like a statement but it came out as a question.
"I do," you replied. "I just hate them a little more."
Loki was looking so bewildered and baffled by every word out of your mouth that you decided to take pity on him. Backing away from where he was chained, you tucked your hands behind your back and said with all seriousness,
"I love you, Prince Loki of Elbaph. I will get you out of these chains so you can stand next to me on the altar of life to swear your soul unto me. And when we are married, we will leave this island to 'destroy the world' and set it free. So I won't ask you if you will marry me. You have a tendency to lie about your feelings, and it seems you haven't changed in the years we have spent apart."
"When did I lie?!" Loki sounded outraged, but you just smirked.
"If you think I didn't recognise your ploy to get me away from you so that I don't get involved with the World Government, then you must think me stupider than I am."
Loki paused at that, and then finally let out a huff of laughter.
"Fine, you win," he murmured. "You want to marry me so bad, you look stupid."
You barked out a laugh at his sad attempt.
"No, silly," you said, just a bit sweeter than usual. "You love me so bad, you look stupid trying to be the hero you are not."

A/n: also, just as a fyi, I was doing giant age math for this fic and realised that since Loki was (human age) 17 when he had to kill Harald (which is insanity to me, he was so young TT) the Lola marriage proposal must have happened after Harald's death during his marine hunting phase. I really wanna know the details of how and why he proposed to Lola lmao,, I hc he asked Lola's hand when she was 20 and he was 19-ish (in human equivalence).
Not a request but I just had to say, I read both of your Loki oneshots and I loved them sm!! I think you write him splendidly and lay out a great story despite it being a short one. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MORE OF YOU ON MY FEED!!
you made my whole day anon (灬º‿º灬)♡ I'm so happy you are enjoying my work, I have a longer one in the works rn that I'm really really excited for myself, so I hope that you stick around to see all the requests get fulfilled! <3
and thank you for the sweet compliments, I really couldn't stop smiling for a few minutes after reading your post >////<

A/n: Thank you for the request, anon! I really went a little beyond with your request because I wasn't sure how to incorporate the devil fruit aspect. I hope you enjoy this!
Since the zoan type was not specified, I decided to use the Bird Bird Fruit, Model: Eagle, because in Norse mythology, there is a myth about Nidhoggr having an eternal feud with a wise eagle, and Ratatoskr actually conveys their hateful messages to each other lmao. Real good material for a longer enemies to lovers fic idea, where Ragnir loves reader;;

"LOKI!" Your shout pierced the noise of the snowstorm, and Loki startled in his chains, looking up immediately just as you descended in your beast form—that of a giant eagle the same size as Loki. Your talons grabbed onto his face, digging into the tough skin, tearing through the bandages that covered his eyes, and soaking him in blood. You let go of him only to attack each of his limbs, with your talons and wings and your overgrown beak.
"Hey, stop it!" Loki yelped, with a pinch of concern because your wings flapped against the sea-stone chains and all your power felt like it was draining. You transformed back to your Giant form, crumpled up in a crouch between Loki's legs, and faced him with more anger and hatred than you had ever in your life. Loki's mouth was open, in shock, probably because this was the first time he was seeing you cry. "Birdie, what's wrong?"
"You dare to ask me that?" You hissed, ramming your hand straight into his chest even thought the chains over it jutted into your palms to draw blood. "Prince Loki, I never once thought you hated me so much that you would kill my mother. As if King Harald was not enough for you, you had to take away the last remaining family I had?!"
His mouth closed, and the ancient giant in front of you stayed quiet, not even refuting your claims like you had hoped he would. You never wanted to believe that your—your oldest friend, rival, whatever he was—would do something like that. You came here demanding an explanation, a release for the anger and pain you were in, and all he had for you was silence?
"Your silence is crueller than I had thought it would ever be," you choked out, collapsing in on yourself as a fresh wave of tears overtook you. With this, you had lost the last person closest to you.
You were the child of an Elbaph warrior, your father a member of the Giant Pirates. Although you did not see him often, whenever he would come home, he would bring you all sorts of treasures, foods, and human trinkets. And though they were tiny, they meant everything to you. You loved learning everything there was about the humans, and to appease your father you also trained everyday so you could be a pirate like him someday, but you always thought that King Harald's dream of a peaceful Elbaph where you could do exchanges with the humans sounded like a lot more of a fun dream.
When your mother, who worked as a guard in the king's palace, brought you with her to introduce you, the king was everything you had thought him to be like. There was no one in the world that you respected and admired more than him. The prince, however, was a sore disappointment. All Prince Loki seemed to enjoy was fighting and he was so inconsiderate of others. So of course you had to get on his back about that, chasing him to tell him off, and then he would chase you in turn, to assert his dominance over you. The two of you always ended up fighting, of course.
And yet you had always remembered those days of your childhood with so much fondness. Somewhere along the line, you and Loki had developed a relationship that was akin to a friendship, but resembled more of a rivalry. Though you did not care for violence, you were strong and you trained yourself so you could always match Loki's frankly overpowering strength. The thrill of being evenly matched, of not knowing the outcome, of having a partner who would never betray him—it seemed that Loki enjoyed your presence far more than he would ever admit.
And that was fine. You did not need him to admit anything. Not when Loki had been there when you had accidentally eaten the devil fruit amongst the human foods your father brought back, and complained about how unfair it was to your matches while you had been mourning the loss of your swimming prowess to distract you. Not when Loki had held you wordlessly the day you learnt your father died at sea. Not when Loki would always seek you out when you made your way to the palace to drop off lunch for your mother.
He had always been next to you when it mattered.
Even when the other Giants called him the shame of Elbaph, to you he was just a fiery idiot of a prince who needed to be knocked down a peg or two. To you, Loki was your closest friend.
So when you had left Elbaph to go explore those human islands, you didn't expect to come back home to the news that Loki had killed King Harald and your mother along with a hundred other soldiers, all for the sake of some legendary devil fruit. Nothing in that sentence had made sense to you, until you had seen the graves, and learnt that Loki had gone missing from Elbaph.
You had ventured out again to find him, but when news came that Loki had been caught, the relief and anger you had expected to feel were tainted with grief and disappointment and fear.
Fear that he had indeed done those things everyone claimed.
Fear that he never truly cared for you, or loved you, like you did. Like you always thought he did.
Fear that you never truly knew him at all, this whole time.
"Birdie…" Loki's voice was different, his tone was all wrong. And yet…
"Don't call me that," you said sharply from where you had tucked your knees up to your chin. This close, he could probably feel the tremors shaking your body. "You lost that right when you refused to tell me the truth."
How foolish can a person be? To trust him even after all that, to show him that trust like it was something he deserved, just how foolish do you have to be?
"The truth will hurt you more," Loki said quietly, and really, why was he acting so unlike himself? Where was the brash and uncouth youth you remembered? Had it really been so long since you had last met that you could no longer recognise the man carved into your very being?
"Don't you think this lie is hurting me just as much?" You pleaded, hoping that between your tears and your words, he would find the courage to tell you the truth. "If you have ever cared for me, if you have ever thought of me as your friend—"
"Stop it."
Why did it sound like he was pleading to you too? You closed your mouth and just watched him, even as he turned his head away so he wouldn't have to look at you. What could possibly be worse than finding out Loki killed your mother? And suddenly like a puzzle piece falling into place, you realised what must have happened.
"Why are you chained up like this?" You asked instead. Loki finally looked at you again. "I'm pretty sure the punishment for such high treason is execution."
"Chief Jarul made the decision," he answered, and that was all you needed to know. If Loki had truly committed treason, then he wouldn't be here. Wiping away the tear tracks frozen on your cheeks, you got up so that you were looming over him. Loki raised his head to look at you.
"If you really want to kill me," he said, with the ghost of the smirk that usually decorated his unnecessarily handsome face, "how about you set me free? And we can duel once more, so you can finally try to defeat me for once."
You knew what he was doing; trying to provoke you with the sense of honour you had, by reminding you of the fact that you had never once won against him. All your matches had ended in draws, except for the ones where Loki had won by cheating or pulling dirty tricks over you.
You didn't need to set him free if you really wanted to kill him. He was tied up here, ready for you to kill with a swift stroke of your talon. Loki knew that better than you did.
"What was the devil fruit you ate?" Your non-sequitur didn't faze your old rival.
"Nidhoggr," he answered, drawing a huff of laughter from you.
"How fitting."
You smiled and turned away, changing into your giant-beast form to fly up to the Sun World.
"You have yourself a deal, Prince Loki. So you better stay alive until I come back."

"Hi there," you said to the humongous beasts of the underworld who had come to greet you as soon as you reached the lowest level of Elbaph. Somehow, the guardians of the underworld had all taken a liking to you ever since you had first appeared in the snowstorm. "Could you take me to him?"
With a simple nod, one of them let you climb on and in a matter of minutes, you were once again in front of the infamous prince of Elbaph, who liked to pretend that he hated you. The thought always amused you, because while he would certainly snap at you and complain about your chattering, never once had he told you to stop coming.
It had already been 3 years that you have been visiting him; you made it a point to come at least once a week, but life in the Sun World kept you busy. The Giants of Elbaph had very kindly let you stay in their village after Gerd saved you from Muginn's beak before Rodo could get his hands on you. Because you had nowhere to go, they let you stick around and help out at the school, a job you quite enjoyed.
Loki wasn't the biggest fan of it though, of course. You suspected it was because your job kept you away from him, but that might be a little too honest for Loki's tastes.
"Back again, are you?" He huffed. You couldn't see his eyes, but if you could, you were sure you would be seeing him roll them for dramatics. A smile crept up on your face as you made your way through the snow and up his legs to literally climb him like a tree. "One day you are going to fall and die, weak as you are. Don't expect me to catch you then."
"Your hands are literally tied," you retorted back, even as you swiftly made your way up the familiar path to his shoulder, right next to his ear. Between the snowstorm and the literal distance between your heights, it had just seemed like the easier option. Not to mention, it also served to irritate him back when you had just started visiting the prince out of curiosity. "If I fall and die, then that's my cross to bear. Not that it makes a difference to you, right?"
"Of course not," he scoffed, turning his head away from your direction. You settled down on his shoulder, which was covered by his furry cape that served to provide warmth. Swinging your legs, you hummed lightly under your breath, knowing the Giant could hear you well. "So, where have you been?"
"Hm?" You waved to the animals, who nodded and made their way back into the forest.
"It's been a while since you came," Loki said brusquely. You stilled at the words, turning your head to see his face so up close. Beneath his casual tone and careless attitude, it was easy to miss the undercurrent of that little emotion he always hid.
"Aw, Loki, were you worried about me?" You teased him, knowing how he would react. If he found out you had been too busy at your job again, he would go on another tirade trying to dissuade you from continuing there. (Last time, you had actually gotten him to nearly offer you a job down here in the underworld as his servant. Of course, then you proceeded to politely decline it by citing the lack of benefits and pay.)
"Hah!" Loki spit out a few expletives at the suggestion, causing you to laugh out loud. The shaking of your body got you nearly slipping, but you managed to grab onto the cape just in time. Loki immediately turned to face you, and as you climbed back to your seat, you could feel the warmth of his breath wash over your body. "You have to be careful, you puny human."
"I am careful," you said, trying your best not to look at him. Somehow, you feared that if he saw your eyes, he would know just how affected you became simply because his face was so close.
"Why do you have to sit on my shoulder anyway?" he grumbled, facing back to the front again. The action helped you finally relax, and you moved closer so you could rest your temple against where his neck met his jawline.
"I like it here," you answered quietly. "Up here, I feel like for once, I can see the world as you see it. And I don't really like the view, because it's so very cold and lifeless down here, but this way I can at least give you some company so you are not alone. Although I would rather you had a much better and livelier view, but, well, you are trapped here."
"And whose fault is that?" Loki smirked, his tongue lolling out in habit. You smiled automatically at that.
"Just so you know, I request Chief Jarul for the keys every week," you replied. You could feel the way his body tensed in surprise. You had never told him this before, always brushing off his attempts to make deals by bantering with him. Perhaps he was expecting you to explain yourself, because he didn't say anything. But the warmth of his cape and his body was making you drowsy, and so you only snuggled a bit more into the cold skin, hoping it would be warmed up by your touch in return.
The two of you sat there quietly in the eternal snowstorm, with you trying to keep yourself awake.
"I'm only going to say this once, so you better listen," Loki's voice was unnaturally low and quiet, and if you weren't so drowsy, you would have noticed it was a little shy too. Maybe he thought you were already asleep, as you were prone to do every single time you leaned against him. "I missed you."
Ah, you must have already fell asleep and started dreaming at some point. But, the warmth enclosing around you felt so very real, and so very comforting, that you only pressed yourself further into the space and murmured back:
"Silly prince. I always miss you too."

How old is Yuki actually? She and Arthur kinda have rather big age gap (when she was a young teen, he's already an adult or maybe 18-19 y.o.). Koei & Kiku also probably are 10-12 years apart, because Kiku is hinted to be younger than Sho (she's just quite tall for her age), and Koei is probably one or two years older than Yuki.
well, we don't have any official ages for anyone apart from the main trio & Gabu, plus a slight hint to Kyoichi's but I actually visualise them as somewhat like this:
Ayumu → 7 (a 4 year difference with Sho)
Kiku → 8
Sho, Makoto, Kakeru → 10-11
Gabu → 10-12
Kyoichi → 15-16 (a 4-5 year difference with Makoto)
Taiga → 15-17 (a 5 year difference with Gabu)
Koei → 18-19 (an 11 year difference with Kiku)
Yuuki → 19-20
Arthur → 27-28
For me, I feel like Yuuki is older than Koei, but it's like a negligible 1 year difference or smth. I gave 2 ages for most characters since the show spans over a year somewhat, and characters like Gabu & Taiga came a whole year before the main trio did, which means they aged up even more.
I don't know how accurate they are, but the Japanese wiki DOES mention ages for a few characters beyond just our four 5th graders...
It says Koei is 18 (I thought he'd be around late teens or early twenties, so sounds about right!)
Yuki is 20 (I thought as much!)
Arthur is 20 (I... I thought he was much older for multiple reasons and had guessed him to be 25-30??)
The last one is the reason I'm not sure how true it is... bc I'm pretty sure we see that flashback as mentioned of Arthur looking as he does now while Yuki was looking notably visually young. Also during my VERY FIRST encounter with the wiki this info on others' ages wasn't there at all, so idk.
It also explicitly said that Kyoichi and Taiga's ages are unknown in the anime (which makes me think something might have been mentioned for them in the manga but changes to the anime make it harder to say...?)
My own guesses for the others are:
Ayumu= 6-8
Kiku= 9
Kyoichi=14-15 (Yuki picks him up pretty easily lol)
Taiga= 14-15 (I just don't have any better ideas...)
But this is a topic I’ve been thinking about for a while!!
About the Wiki, I’ve found the Japanese Wiki and another website that had a summary of each volume of the manga, I’ll put it here:
https://mangapedia.com/IDATEN翔-h7lskcy9l
What I discovered though is that the manga and the anime are completely different! The anime staff only took the characters and a few vague settings and created their own thing, I’d love to go more in details but that would require an entire dedicated post so let’s go back to the age topic..
So first, Arthur and Ayumu are 100% anime original characters! Yup, they don’t exist in the manga 😭 so their ages are unknown for that reason, I don’t remember seeing a single mention of Kiku in any manga related summaries so she might be an anime original too (very plausible if you asked me!)
Yuuki though is an interesting case, because she started as an anime original but then the mangaka liked her and decided to add her to the manga later!? (According to the wiki though)
But the ones who we know their ages in the Manga are:
Sho, Makoto, Kakeru & Gabu: 11 years old (fifth grade)
Koei: 18 years old
Kyoichi & Taiga: 12 years old! (sixth grade!)
I know this is unexpected 😭
But they actually kinda looked 13-14 to me, so I guess 12 isn’t that far away 😭?!
Maybe an early puberty growth spurt!? 😭
Tbh Taiga in particular does look young..
When he’s together with Shark Tooth it doesn’t look like there’s a big age gap!
There’s a height difference but they still look like elementary schoolers, from what I’ve noticed:
Mantaru is the tallest, Taiga and Seiji don’t look that different! But Seiji appears bending his back out of fear a lot which could hide his height sometimes, Kiyoshi is shorter than both of them but still taller than Gabu, then Gabu, and finally Mitsuru being the shortest.
Another thing is the fact that Kyoichi and Taiga both look smol comparing to the adults!
Conclusion? I’m starting to believe that these two are indeed only one year older than their little siblings 😭
no way, I'm pretty sure the anime aged them up 😭 they are NOT twelve in the anime. Kyoichi was shown winning a junior high school contest, which is for 13-15 yr olds, and Taiga seems around the same age too. I guess maybe they were closer in age in the manga but since they made a lot of changes in the anime, the anime writers may have decided to up the ages to make it more fitting?
Yea, they had specified it!! I don't remember if Makoto had said it or if the scene had a banner saying that in Japanese, but I remember it was mentioned
I looked up a few things as well and discovered something weird 😭
So from what I looked up Makoto did say that her brother won the “Junior Tournament” multiple times, but the Junior class in Japan is strictly for 17-18 years old..
So if he’s younger he can’t participate!
Which is weird because.. Koei is 18.. and Kyoichi is clearly younger than him..
Now the tournaments that could have divisions depending on the skill and age of under 17 are called “Youth”..
Then I remembered something 😭
Remember the final episode when they were talking about participating in a tournament?
I went back to the flyer and tried translating it (I used Google translate and Gemini and ChatGPT to make sure 😭)
And it says: 6〜12才 小学生男女
Literally means: “Boys and girls in elementary school, ages 6–12”
But.. Kyoichi was training for it (Taiga too!)?!!
He was talking about it clearly as if he’s indeed included..
Which wouldn’t make sense if he’s older than 12 😭?!!
Soooo..
The anime staff are fucking with us!!? 😭😭
That leaves me with two theories, they either indeed planned for him to be older then changed their minds later, or they mistook the “Junior Tournament” for “Youth Tournament” and went along with it 😭
no, Junior refers to Junior High school, which is 13-15 in Japan, idk where you got the 17-18 from 🤔 atleast in the anime it refers to middle/junior high schoolers
Not sure what's up with the flyer from the last episode tho
