“operator operated” Perhaps inktober is a disguised marketing ploy put in place by squid aquaculturists. I just feel bad for all those cephalopods, farmed only for an art movement that future generations will decidedly see as wasteful. It is no coincidence that frozen calamari is always more affordable in the dead of winter. I don’t have a respectable reason not to think that squids have everything to do with this, other than the fact that I’m not entirely positive that ink comes from the sea. It’s also possible that this moderate increase in ink use is just lining the pockets of greasy office depot pen salesbeings. It’s likely that there’s an entire underground north american network of them, working together to promote inktober. Either way, we are all being puppeteered.
