Bring me your suffering. The rattle roar of broken bones. Bring me the riot in your heart. Angry, wild, and raw. Bring it all. I am not afraid of the dark. —Mia Hollow

Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can't go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does. —Margaret Atwood, The Penelopia

The world is a stage we walk upon. We are all in a way fictional characters who write ourselves with our beliefs. Louis Theroux
Mass Hypnos by Fabio Timpanaro
Men have called me mad; but the question is not yet settled, whether madness is or is not the loftiest intelligence – whether much that is glorious – whether all that is profound – does not spring from disease of thought – from moods of mind exalted at the expense of the general intellect. ―Edgar Allan Poe

It is Ophelia Net’s 5th birthday today! I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to our 5 lovely members for helping create this comforting ‘light in darkness’ themed space that many people enjoy. I’m so proud of what we’ve created. You are all awesome and inspiring: @entropydemons @apocryphal-syzygy @corpsewraith @mytaxidermia @twenty1-grams
And to celebrate 5 years I am working on an Ophelia Net magazine including:
• Original Art • Portrait Photography • Poetry • Quotes • Writings
all under the theme of feelings, emotions, life, madness, philosophy, psychology, inner self work, darkness
Would love to hear any followers thoughts on this?! Please send a message telling us: Would you subscribe to a magazine? How can we make it really good and something you would want to look at & read?

The law is simple. Young or old, pauper or king, white or black, male or female ... all can use the secret to their advantage; for all the rules and speeches and scriptures of success and how to attain it, only one method has never failed ... whomsoever shall compel ye to go with him one mile ... go with him two. ―God Memorandum by Og Mandino

Unexpectedly, this art appealed to rich people who had always had artistic aspirations, but no talent. They could comprehend it. It did not make them feel small. Once they placed it in the living room or dining room, it did not overwhelm them. It was an art that fit them. Being vulgar, they naturally preferred a vulgar art. Being formless themselves, they preferred a formless art. Having no eye for beauty, they did not require it. In fact, they languished in its presence and preferred the ugly. Besides the rich, this new art also appealed to a broad range of the shallow and ambitious, who wished to be famous but had no real means to achieve that until now. They could see that the new art gave them an opening. Since this was clearly the kind of art anyone could produce, they could produce it, too. Art then became only a competition in grovelling... which they were perfectly capable of doing. ―Miles Mathis
The Curious Tune by Jeremy Hush
There is a tragic flaw in our precious constitution, and I don't know what can be done to fix it. This is it: Only nut cases want to be president.
Kurt Vonnegut
I think that for some of us it is almost impossible to have a cohesive identity or, rather, there are some whose inconsistent and conflicted sense of self is their identity. There are those who have an identity that is contrary and evolving and forever at war with itself. It is perpetually in the process of challenging its own best ideas. Once an idea of self — a stance, a point of view, an identity — is settled upon, this inner subversive begins the business of dismantling it. Yet, this resistance to a fixed identity could be our greatest strength. -Nick Cave
