There is a prism hanging on a string in front of my window. While delaying the writing of this essay, I laid for so long that I watched the rainbow splatters slip from one wall to the next and laid so still that it felt like the sun was orbiting my bed, not the other way around.
Another time I came out was in my first interview with NPR in 2016. They asked me about my friendship with Julien Baker and I listed things we had in common that make it easy to talk, which were our faiths, living in the South, and being queer. I remember thinking did I say that?
