Fic Writer Appreciation Day
There are so many amazing writers in the OQ fandom I don’t know if I can list them all... but I’ll give it a try.
@lala-kate. I love her stories. They are always so beautiful and so emotional. The way she writes children is also amazing. Try reading Her. It takes a horrible plot line and turns it beautiful.
@loveexpelrevolt. Her prose is legendary for me. Her use of imagery is incredible. Try reading So Darkness I Became. You’ll know what I’m talking about.
@somewhereapart. An amazing writer! If you’re in this fandom you’ve probably read her work and loved it. Try reading Breaking In. It’s a slowburn but it’s excellent buildup.
@keepshiningon. She’s a new writer but she has so much potential. Her new story Stranger Things Have Happened is going to be great.
@audreysl0ve. Love love love her stories. She really has an amazing grasp on pacing and plots. She makes the tension fly off the page. Try reading The Escort. It’s a very deep and sensual story.
@believingispowerfulmagic. She has written so many stories. All of them incredible. I love the way she characterizes the dynamic between Robin and Regina. She always makes sure that they are honest and supportive. Try reading Comfort Food. It’s a favorite of mine right now.
@belleoftheballpoint. I love her stories. She puts OQ in these situations that are magical or tragic and they just make you want more. Try reading Fate. It’s a short story but I love it.
@miladylocksley. I haven’t read very many of her stories but she just posted an amazing sneak peek of a one shot that has me so very intrigued. It looks like it’s going to be very tragic but also very beautiful.
@gray-autumn-sky. She is my go to for Canon Divergence. Her characterization of Robin and Regina are perfect. She finds a way to twist canon but still make it feel real. Try reading First Steps. It’s a lovely Hood-Mills universe that centers around Robin’s daughter.

I'm curious how you interpret scenes with Regina, Robin and the baby (those 10s, sigh). It looks like majority of OQ fandom is convinced they're basically setting this up to be "OQ baby" regardless of whether Zelena lives or dies. But I'm just not seeing it.
I don’t interpret them in any way. The baby might turn out to be mothered by Regina. The baby might turn out to be mothered by Zelena. The baby might turn out to be mothered by them both, visitation rights and all that. I only know one thing: at this moment, the only person who gets to decide anything regarding this baby’s life is her father. Robin. And, subsequently, Regina as well, if she wants to, that is.
The OQ fandom is trying to take a godawful storyline that was thrown our way and make the most of it, or rather find a way to deal with it constructively, something that the OUAT writers insist on not doing. For each one of us an acceptable resolution might differ. I am not sure what your interpretation is of the term “OQ baby”, but if by that you mean that this little girl will consider Regina as her mother, then yes, many people are already convinced that this what the show is setting us up for.
But since you asked me personally, well... I’ve watched those writers treat Robin and Regina and Outlaw Queen with such disrespect for most of the last 17 episodes (with exceptions of course, I can never complain about the s4 finale or the first 2 episodes of s5) that I wouldn’t be surprised if, by the end of the season, Zelena is already redeemed and gets to play an important part in the girl’s life. Or whichever scenario all of us think is worst. Whatever happens though, I’m in a state of apathy towards this storyline. I can’t bother with it anymore, unless the show gives me a good reason to (ie, some screentime for Robin, Regina and the baby? Some conversations? Anything would do). For the time being, I’m just enjoying reading the wonderful stories our fandom’s talented fanfic writers come up with. And that’s as far as I go.
Rain boots
Regina had promised her daughter Hope that she would take her to the park on her next day off. Hope was five years old, and Regina’s little miracle. After they had taken the darkness out of Emma and eliminated it entirely, Regina had found out that she and Robin were having a baby. At first she didn’t believe Doctor Whale, in fact, she was so adamant that she was not pregnant she laughed at his absurdity. However, once Whale had convinced Regina to at least let him do a sonogram, because what’s the worst that could happen, the second she heard the faint sound of a heartbeat she began to tear up, as she expected that she was going to have her own baby. Never once questioning how it happened, and be being wholly grateful that it did.
Hope was like Regina in many was she looked practically identical to her mother, with her raven hair and olive skin and almost all of her facial features. They only way that she differed from her mother were her ocean blue eyes that could captivate anyone and everyone that looked into them, and her two entirely identical dimples that paired with her eyes meant that she had both of her parents wrapped around her little finger. But the part of Hope that was equal parts Robin and Regina was her stubbornness and her ability to get whatever she wanted no matter the circumstance, and today wasn’t any different.
Regina being the mayor of Storybrooke always had a lot on her plate especially when it came to paperwork she always had a never ending pile on her desk and when she had finally finished she had another one the same size or even bigger the next day. So Regina was grateful for the days when she got to spend time with her family, that just recently seemed to consist of her and Hope these days. Robin works as a deputy at the sheriff’s station with David and Emma and has long hours almost as bad as Regina’s in fact ridiculously. Henry now being eighteen spends most of his time with is girlfriend Violet, and then Roland, who was now eleven, likes to spend his time in the woods with the merry men, leaving Regina and Hope to have some girl time together. So today, as promised Regina was taking Hope despite the fact that it had been raining the previous and the park, would probably be wet and unusable but as soon as Hope had given Regina those adorable puppies eyes she caved and got them both ready for a day a the park.
If there was one thing Regina Mills hated it was rain, more specifically puddles. For some reason, that particular hatred could not be said for Hope, who insisted on jumping in every single puddle on the walk to the park, making Regina’s lower half increasingly damp when they arrive at the park. As soon as they had reached the cast iron gate to the park Hope practically sprinted to go and play on the round-about while Regina made her way to sit on the slightly wet bench. After around ten minutes of continuous spinning, Hope got bored of playing alone and enlisted her mother in a game of hide and seek. They took turns counting and hiding with Hope winning the majority of the games (because Regina let her) until deciding she had a very pressing question she had to ask her mother.
“Are you going to have another baby in your belly soon? I want a sister; there are too many boys. Because Daddy says that you guys try daily, and you enjoy it foroly”.
Regina’s mouth fell into the perfect O when her daughter began talking about her and Robin’s late night fun. “umm- I think you mean thoroughly, and your father and I have not discussed another child. To be perfectly honest, he won’t be trying for a very long time if I have it my way”. Regina’s face turned into a scowl after she realised that she would need to have a long conversation about what is acceptable to talk to their daughter about, and would almost definitely end in him sleeping on the couch for the next few days. Regina and Hope spend the next few hours in the park, with Regina mulling over what her daughter had just informed her of. ——————————————————-
Later that day when Hope and Roland were in bed Regina worked her way around the kitchen making dinner for herself when Robin came through the front door.
“ I’m home” he calls but receives no answer, so he walked towards the kitchen where he heard what sounded like is his wife cooking. When Robin entered the kitchen, he laid his eyes on Regina in her yoga pants and a tank top (even though Robin preferred it when she wore her mayoral attire he found Regina in relaxed clothes to be very adorable. Not that he’d ever tell her that).
Robin wondered over to where Regina was cooking her infamous tomato sauce, and snaked his arms around her waist, to which Regina placed her hands atop his and removed them from her middle, then proceeded to move to the other side of the kitchen without uttering a single word.
“Love what’s wrong? Why aren’t you talking to me?” Robin questions earned himself one of Regina’s signature eye rolls.
“Oh you don’t know, well then let me enlighten you. Hope and I were at the park today, and she asked me if she was going to have a sister” Regina began, and was quickly interrupted with Robin’s reply of why was that a problem.
“Well if you would let me finish, she then proceeded to tell me that she asked you about this subject”. Robin’s eyes grew wider and gave quite a comical gulp, which would have made Regina laugh if she wasn’t already pissed. “ and told me that daddy says that you try daily and that you thoroughly enjoy it”. Robin turned as red as the sauce that was currently simmering behind the couple.
“Okay, Love it was just a harmless joke, besides she doesn’t even understand how babies are made. Hope had no idea what I was talking about, and also I wasn’t exactly lying now was I?” Robin stated innocently with a slight smirk.
“Whether you are right or not is beside the point, it’s not exactly an appropriate topic of conversation to have with our daughter now is it?”
“I know, and I’m sorry, but just out of curiosity what would your answer be?” Robin apprehensively asked knowing that when Regina fell pregnant with Hope, she thought she was barren and Hope was her little miracle, but Robin had a feeling that with them being soulmates that love broke her infertility curse allowed them to conceive Hope, and hopefully any other children they wished to have.
“You mean another baby?” to which Robin just nodded “well honestly I hadn’t really considered it. I mean Hope is a tiny miracle what if I can’t have another child, what if Hope was it and having another child is too selfish”. Regina’s mind was swirling with all possible scenarios as to how this would/could end, and none of them seemed to end well.
“Yes or no, would you like to have another child?” Robin asked knowing if he asked open-ended questions Regina would work herself up too much. She gave a sheepish nod towards Robin.“Well okay then so what we do is stop using contraceptives and see what happens, if you get pregnant then that’s great if you don’t then that’s fine too there are plenty of others ways to become a parent as we both well know”. When Robin had finished Regina wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled her husband into a deep passionate kiss, which he gladly returned.
That night was spent in bed with both of she showing their love to one another, and little did they know creating something they would from that love.

Moment you became an OQ shipper:
That whiskey scene in Zelena’s house ruined my life forever (and I don’t feel sorry for that not even for a second!)! I was not that into the show at the time, I was rather only watching it as part of the GA, but I loved Regina and loved the idea of my favourite childhood hero, Robin Hood, being her soulmate. But I was being careful not to get hooked because the last time I did, it didn’t end well. Yet that scene... yeah, I freaked out when that sneak peek was released. Watching them flirt and share those looks, full of subtext and eye-sex, had me fall for this pairing SO HARD that I started sending the scene to all my friends and capslocked “IS THIS HOT OR IS THIS HOT?” and they just didn’t even know what show it was from!!! Really, HOW CAN YOU NOT SHIP THEM AFTER THIS?
Favorite OQ scene S3-S4: Oh maaaaaan... Why isn’t there a separate section for s3 and s4?? You know I am the worst when it comes to choosing between my babies, so I’ll just cheat (oops!):
Favourite OQ scene S3:
THE FIREPLACE PICNIC! I squealed when I watched that scene! I never thought that we’d get such a romantic moment between them, in which they would just talk and connect and kiss and be couply and share so much about themselves. And I was totally floored when Regina talked to Robin about the lion tattoo story! FLOORED! The rawness of this scene, the messages it passed (”Maybe it’s all about timing” hello?) and the fact that it actually lasted for more than 2 minutes had me crawl in my corner and lose myself in my feels.
Favourite OQ scene S4:
I want to say the vault cause HOTDAYUM! (man oh man!*kiss*hands*ARMS*liftingherup*GIGGLING*caresses*dies*) but I think the scene that really has gained a very special place in my heart was the scene in the woods, before Ingrid’s curse. Hearing Regina actually admit that he is the one of the two people that believes in her in this town and that it would kill her if he looked at her in any other way than with love in his eyes and then him holding her and kissing her and reassuring her that he will remain by her side... again, FEELS! It’s such a beautiful moment between them and I still get chills every time I watch it (which is why their forehead touch from that scene decorates my blog - FOREHEAD TOUCH ALERT!!)!
Favorite OQ scene S5:
I’d prefer to answer this after the season is over, but so far... Can I just choose the entire 2nd episode please? :P ‘Kay, jokes aside, their dance at the ball was the most precious (and HOTTEST) thing in the world and, as a dancer, seeing them dance the way they did made my heart skip several beats. But when Regina was willing to sacrifice herself to save him from the Fury and then kept caressing his jaw... Colour me floored AGAIN!
Favorite OQ kiss:
This is like Sophie’s choice!!! I feel that the first kiss was so beautiful and so powerful and I’ll just never get over the fact that Regina grabbed him by the jacket and kissed him senseless and then he did the same to her!! But, the moment that had me scream my lungs out in the middle of the night (must have been close to 4am) and cause my entire family to wake up to check if I was alright, was the moment Robin walked up to Regina, grabbed her face in that vault, lifted her up to smooch her properly, hands in her hair and butt (oh Robin!!!), and then they just gave into it... NEVER OVER THAT SMOOCH, N-E-V-E-R!!
Hopes for OQ going forward:
There’s so much stuff I need to see between them. Their characters offer an extreme amount of possibilities only by being who they are, let alone with the history they are carrying together canonly. I want to see more of Robin’s POV in this relationship. I want him more as a solid character and not just as a love interest, because he’s not worthy of such treatment. I want to see a scene of them in bed, late at night, caressing and talking and just being there. I want to see moments of them alone that have to do with them and are not about Emma, Zelena or whatever other threat hits Storybrooke. I want to see tons more of Hood-Mills family moments and get to know if Roland still has his stuffed monkey, if Regina calls him her “little knight” and I need more active Robin and Henry bonding time. Also, I HAVE to have more Outlaw Bandit in my life! NOW! And... I just NEED to see page 23 unfold with all my being! That page has put a print in my heart, i need to see it happen!
Your other OUAT ships (romantic or otherwise):
Whenever Regina and Robin are related, I’m practically always in! I consider Snow Queen to be the most fundamental relationship of the show and the one that is responsible that this show even exists! And I’m sad to see it sidelined to favor others. Evil Charming/Snowing is my soft spot and I can’t believe how much of that we already got in s5. Beauty Queen is AWESOME, bless Lana and Em for being such great friends and making it so easy to love them on sceen. ANYTHING Rumple and Regina related has me on the floor drooling, because... Lana and Bobby, people! And of course.. Regal Believer! I don’t think there are enough words to express how I feel about this relationship. There are not! As for Robin... Any time I get to see him interact with other characters my heart reaches other levels of highs (except for Zelena... yeah, thanks writers, you ruined that for me). His friendships with Neal and Will always gave me tons of feels for so many reasons. His relationship with Mulan was one of the sweetest yet underrated things the show created and I’m MAD, really REALLY mad they never showed us more of that (and they probably never will). Outlaw Believer does not even require an explanation of why I love it so immensely. And I’m holding a bit back about Captain Hood, but judging by Sean and Colin’s friendship, I’m guessing it will be something I’ll thoroughly enjoy (but hey, Captain Charming Hood is already a blast!). Also, WHERE IS MY BELLE AND ROBIN ADVENTURE WRITERS? WHERE IS IT?
Edit: Anything that has to do with the Queens of Darkness is a not-so-guilty pleasure! Those four women together rocked my socks off and I’m still waiting for the day a spinoff will be announced (also, SEADEVIL ROCKS BANANAZ!).

Currently none because I need to secure my mental health. First fandom ever was House and I’m actually surprised that the OUAT fandom surpassed that one in terms of insanity. I’m a Potterhead for life and that will never change. And, apparently, I’ll be SHERLOCKED forever, cause Steven Moffat just can’t get his butt into writing more episodes. :P
Why you love the OQ fandom:
Because it has survived all kinds of storms and is still going strong. Because it’s the most reasonable one I’ve ever been part of. Because it has given me great friends online and has actually made me wish to meet them all. Because, in comparison to other corners of the OUAT fandom, OQers accept every straw of OQ we get and get super excited and creative about it. Because we managed to live through season 4 and are still here. Because of the extreme support and utter respect I see towards Lana and Sean and their families. Because we hardly ever complain (unless way too obviously provoked). In this fandom, we have each other’s back and I just wish there were no borders around us and I could give all of you a hug and say thank you to each and every one of you for making my fandom life in this place better.

There are so so soooooooo many great artists in this fandom whose work I always admire. (Note: I’m awful at recalling all of you wondrous artists out there, but I’m telling this with all honesty, everything I’ve reblogged from you guys, I’ve done it cause I just LOVE it!). Fics.... Man, NO! How can I choose??? First fic I ever fell in complete and utter love with was @someonethatiamnot‘s Baker’s Dozen and I’m sure you all understand why. Basically all of her stories have floored me and I wish Allison was in that writers’ room instead of some others much less capable than her, cause she grasps Robin and Regina in a way that..
