Idk why did I did this, I just think about it and thought "hey, that's cool", it's not.
Danny wondered why it had to be this way, why he couldn’t have normal parents who cared about him. He hugged himself, trapped in the cramped space of his closet.
He remembered his father’s muffled groans, the sound of flesh as he plunged the knife into his own mother’s neck. He hadn’t wanted to, but they had taken Cujo away from him; he was innocent. He was just a little dog; he hadn’t deserved to be eliminated that way.
Danny heard a noise outside; it sounded like soft thuds, as if the kitchen faucet was being turned on and something was being washed. Maybe it was Jazz, who had come back after spending the night with some friends—studying, no doubt.
Danny didn’t want to come out; maybe she’d look at him with disgust, with hatred for having killed both of his parents. He wouldn’t judge her; she had every right to feel that way. He was the monster this time.
What he didn’t expect was to hear his older sister’s voice behind his bedroom door, telling him to take a shower and get ready for school. Why was she acting so normal? Didn’t she see what he’d done? He didn’t want to think about it too much and stepped out of the closet.
Jazz had left a change of clothes and a towel in the bathroom. He sighed softly and took off his clothes, stained with his parents’ blood—evidence of the atrocious act he had committed last night.
Once he was ready—having taken a shower and changed into fresh clothes—he tossed his pajamas into the laundry basket and headed for the stairs. He passed by his parents’ room, which was strangely clean. Maybe Jazz had cleaned it; that would explain the faint thuds he’d heard.
When he went downstairs and reached the kitchen, Jazz greeted him with a warm smile, without a trace of fear, disgust, or hatred—just understanding and affection. He felt uncomfortable; she shouldn’t be acting that way.
“As far as I know, you have a test today,” Jazz said, placing a plate of fried eggs and some bacon in front of him, to which he sat down and replied.
“Yeah… It’s history, it’ll be during second period.” His voice came out shaky, somewhat low and tired, since he hadn’t slept at all that night.
Jazz nodded and said nothing more; he simply ate his breakfast, and an awkward silence fell. It seemed like a normal morning, but it wasn’t—Mom and Dad weren’t there.
But why is Jazz acting like this? Why doesn’t she hate him? Why doesn’t she call the police?
He doesn’t understand...
