the OSDDID community on instagram is.... something else. even the adults who seem to be relatively rational and mature end up engaging in petty, hypocritical behavior like high schoolers and it makes me roll my eyes. I haven't been actively involved in system communities for a while, and honestly I don't see a point to going back.

Alex has got so much respect for J2 and their show.  Love him.  Shame others can’t give them the same respect or act with class.  There’s a couple of things that happened yesterday that were definitely "step back and let J2 have their moment” opportunities, which Alex did, but no, "Mr Look at me” unable to do that and there’s nothing they can do without looking dicks about it.

So, just started classes and saw some pure moments from fellow students i thought to share...

At Chick-fil-a, a kid told one of the kitchen ladies that he appreciates her several times after asking if some sandwiches were ready

Twice, someone asked me if they were in the right class (they were) and thanked me for telling them

Reunions of friends who haven’t seen each other since last semester

My adorable professor who wears crocs to be more casual

My other adorable professor giggling along to retail horror stories

Smiles everywhere

Hugging families

Professors sympathizing about sleep schedules and offering for students to snooze a bit in class

Freshman vibrancy

People who don’t know each other at all conversing like they’ve been friends forever

There's nothing more frustrating than people online being unwilling to think twice. Like somoene will say something, that would get misinterpreted, and lost people immediatly jump to aggressivity, dismissviness, or anything really

I've seen Tumblr post and reblog start the weirdest "argument" were really somoene said something and regardless of the amount of time they clarify themself, people still misinterpret it. I've seen petty online discourse and drama because a content creator talked in a way that was misinterpreted (misinterpretation that could have been clarified with 1 question) and people assumed the worst. I've seen people post comment about how they like pancake and everyone jumped them about how they hated waffle.

(comment sections are usually the worst because they are NOT MADE to write thoughtfull sentences and overall very uncomfortable for complex conversation.)

I don't think people are dumb. Maybe the Reading compréhension is declining but who am I to affirm that, I just see people complain about it. I just think we (yes I included myself) just except people to not be able or willing to engage in any type of meaningfull conversation. And that if they're not capable it's obviously their fault and deserving of being called slur or being disrespected.

(also I have a special hate for stuff like "go outside" (were ? I could talk to you from the opposite side of the globe so if I go out I might not see ) "have you ever been to school" (as if your education system was universal) "[r word]" (this is just ableist and I won't explain myself) because not only they only work if wathever you assume about the people you talk to is true (unlikely) but also because even if it was true this is just unhelpfull. Like even if we were neighbor and you told le to go outside like... I wouldn't suddenly change my mind.)
