There’s hope yet 🌤

There is ONE nutritional shake that I can drink. It tastes ok and doesn’t make me nauseous or hurt my tummy. Unfortunately, there were some formula changes a few years ago that changed all that for me (they added pea protein and I absolutely couldn’t tolerate it 😢)

I’ve check on the brand occasionally, but I rarely go grocery shopping and when I do I’m just trying to get in/out as quickly as possible. So I don’t know when they started offering the nutritional shakes without the pea protein, but after visiting Urgent Care today we found cases of the “good” formula at Costco (and it was on sale!).

I’m definitely going to be looking through the new products they offer and trying some I think I will be able to tolerate. This couldn’t have come at a better time 🥲

Nutrition - Shake Recipe: Ultimate nutrition before you go out on the course or post workout

Before I start my day either on the course or post cycling/strength workout I like to whip up this shake which is about as much nutrition as you can get in one meal. This keeps me full for at least 4-5 hours. Keeping hunger away will keep your mind on the game and away from questionable snacks.

Blend together the following or portion of:

2 bananas

8-16 ounces - Unsweetened Almond milk or milk of your choice

2 scoops of Orgain Protein and Superfoods Powder

Optional for extra fiber(Start these slowly over a few weeks and drink lots of water daily when taking - Excellent for your digestive system but may cause discomfort to start as your intestines are cleaned out) 1 teaspoon - 2 tablespoons - Ground Flax Seed powder 1 teaspoon - 2 tablespoons - Whole Psyllium Husk powder

Blend and drink slowly. 

Have fun with your own concoctions.  In pic above we added blueberries and wild raspberries from our yard! 

 Also a great time to take your other daily vitamins!

It’s been a while since I’ve done a smoothie bowl! So here’s a nice protein smoothie bowl 💚

BLEND: 1 cup greens 2 scoops vanilla protein powder* 1 cup frozen mango 1 banana ½-1 cup almond milk

TOP WITH: Homemade granola Pitaya Blueberries Fresh fig

*My favorite is Orgain vanilla protein powder

Today I’ve started to try a week long trial of Orgain’s All-In-One Nutritional Shake. I’m mainly going to drink it to maintain my weight as well as recover from a current flare up so I’m really hoping that this will work out. It couldn’t have arrived at a better time because I haven’t been able to hold anything down all day -_-
