Daily Flag Info:
We lost a lot of colors along the way! This is the original Pride Flag.
Apparently it's based off of ancient egyptian markings.. or so Wikipedia says so.
I made these for an article and it felt selfish to keep it for myself so have them

okay so... guys... as a demigirl, i must confess, im not a fan of the popular demigirl pride flag
dont get me wrong! its nice!! ive seen the alternative flags made, im not trying to be mean to whoever the original artist is
but personally, i just dont think it looks good, the shade of pink used is so bright and dull, it blends with the light grey used, making it look like a big chunk rather than different stripes
and maybe that's the point, maybe its MEANT to blend to be symbolic
but... guys? and gals? and pals? im not a fan, to me it just makes it look all grey ultimately, the pink is far too dull to stand out, my brain registers it as just grey
si decided, why not, and made a quick edit, just adjusted brightness and hues slightly in Krita and...
i made this one! the grey is ever slightly darker, and i tried to make the pink stand out more! i think i sort of succeeded but, there's stil la slight blend, so i decided to actually play a bit more with color so...
the final step ive landed, and one i personally like, now the grey isn't wholly grey, it has slight hues to it, but it still kinda stands out as grey, and now each stripe looks nice! at least, to me this looks nicer, it feels it stand out and have more visual identity than the original, and i'll be using it myself, not to suck my own girl dick but i think i personally would like doing art with these colors than the original
please, don't think im pushing to a revolution, or to go to the other people who made flags before me and go "your flag is DOODOO marcy made a WAY better one that will replace YOURS!"
and if you're the og, please dont take it personally!!! im an artist wholly ignorant of your original thoughts when making this! i just wanted to make a flag i identified and liked more, both because i felt it needed to be more visually appealing and distinct like other flags! the dull greys and pale pink wasn't doing us a service i fear
but
again
PERSONAL OPINION
IM NOT TRYING TO REPLACE SHIT
just made this for myself, though feel free to use it if you'd like!
Day 30: Gilbert Baker OG Rainbow Rainbow Stag Beetle (what a tongue-twister)
🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜
I have no super long message like last year, the Rainbow Stag Beetle just seemed perfect for the 8-stripe rainbow flag because it ACTUALLY looks like that in real life.
I think this year was more challenging for me (I also lagged behind significantly on several days haha) but I'm overall satisfied :)(Still one more drawing left, actually. Or two...)
