An update i didn't expect to make so soon. Unfortunately, i'm probably not skilled enough for a Patreon post - i have almost no graphic design skills, art skills nor marketing skills (triple threat watch out)!
After a lot of traditional publication rejection, and being unable to afford to indie publish the way i want to at this point, MORNING STARS is now going to be a serial on AO3!
MORNING STARS: LINK
Harvie Coin makes her living as a part of a hauler crew, transporting and selling valuables across a galaxy ruled by the governing League and a ruthless religious cult known as the Order.
Morning Stars: Kamarie Koert’s Space Opera
When a run ends badly, she's left injured and in the hands of law enforcement. Forced to make a deal to act as a guide for an eccentric philanthropist in return for her freedom, Harvie begins to uncover dark secrets and mysterious disappearances throughout the Milky Way.
She finds unlikely friendship in Teela, a housekeeper and cult escapee.
Harvie and Teela, used to being nobodies, are mistakenly thrust into the middle of the galaxy's churning politics. As the Order threatens to spread their cult across the galaxy, both women find they must decide what matters most to them, and who they are going to protect.
Content notes: This novel contains references to sexual, emotional and spiritual abuse as well as science fiction typical violence and sexual themes. This is a work of adult fiction.
The novel has been fully edited and written, so you can expect an update every week. This gives me the freedom to write exactly what I want, tell the story that i've wanted to tell for so many years, and share it with all of my amazing friends on here. I have a full time job where i'm trying to career climb, and managing a Patreon is out of my scope right now.
I do have a Ko-Fi if anyone enjoys my writing and would like to throw me a few dollars (money will probably be spent on more commissions for the novel or for buying youth in foster care in my community gifts <3) - link
Thank you to @maia-beans for all of your amazing support and artwork throughout the years, to @winterandwords for your kind feedback during our Wattpad days and for connecting me with the OG writing side of Tumblr where i've met so many lovely people. To my writing bestie, Irene, without a Tumblr, who's been working on MS with me since its inception. To @sunset-a-story and @explosionshark for letting me bounce ideas off of you and hearing all of my rants/offering suggestions. To @leebrontide and @daphnevermeer for sharing your knowledge about indie publishing with a newb like me. To my writing coaches who have been patient with me and given me incredible feedback to tell the story i want to tell.
I can't wait to share Morning Stars with everyone on here, and can't wait to read more of the stories you all have written!
xoxoxox

PS - if you leave me a comment/share the novel i'll love you forever and ever and maybe even give you a lil kiss.
Rules: share a line from your story with zero context.
Since i have Morning Stars complete, i will share a line both from it and from its sequel, Super Nova.
Some out of context lines about the villain, Dexter Grum, and his twisted relationship with protagonist, Harvie Coin.
Morning Stars -
Harvie hated Dexter Grum.
Super Nova -
They flew the ship. They drank. They ran another load. She didn’t think about Dexter. She went out of her way to never think of Dexter again. That was it.
Life was simple then. It was complicated now.

Usually i don't make pinned posts, but as i'm getting more active on writblr, i figure it's needed.
My name is Kamarie and I enjoy writing/world building/character creation. Most of you probably know me through my fanfic, but i'm an avid original writer.
My works are adult fiction populated by LGBTQ characters.
I am looking for writblr connections and fellow indie original writers!
DM/ask game/tag friendly! :)
My complete, free to read novel, Morning Stars, is currently available on AO3. I appreciate anyone who gives it a read!
Oh this is fun -- Super Nova is my current WIP, it is the sequel to Morning Stars , and it has some of such moments (Morning Stars is a complete, original space opera that is currently hosted on AO3 as i don't know what to do with this thing and am enjoying reading and interacting with writblr so much!).
Morning Stars has left us with a runaway train of a situation that the protagonists have found themselves in.
Harvie, one of our protagonists, has been almost bound by fate to Dexter, our villain, since the prologue of the first novel.
She's ready to get off the train and make it all stop in Super Nova, but Dexter, leading a ruthless religious cult intent on taking over the galaxy, is not.
And, well, war usually doesn't end too well for anyone.
Happy STS! If your OC(s) were plopped into a world from a different genre, what would it be and how would they respond?
OMG I love this question, thank you.
I think Harvie and Teela from Morning Stars are fairly locked into their space opera universe. They are such products of their setting! It has made them completely who they are.
Neither of them would fit in well to any other setting, especially if they retain all of their current memories, but a reasonable AU for them i could see would be a nautical fantasy piracy setting.
Harvie and Vox run a small freight ship with their crew, avoiding pirates with more firepower and government navies.
Teela, having narrowly escaped a religious cult with her life, sets out to build a new life at a pirate port--working for an affluent woman as her housekeeper/cook.
Starts to flirt with Harvie when she's on shore.....
I could see a similar story playing out! Thanks for the ask!
follows Harvette Coin, an XO on a space pirate ship, and Teela Skyler, a housekeeper who barely escaped an alt-right cult with her life.
Morning Stars is a blend of space opera and drama with a thread of galactic magic and romance. It has the aesthetic of your favorite occult store ending up in space; of pirates dripping in gold jewelry juxtaposed against sharply dressed lifetime spacers wondering what life upon planets is like.
Tarot cards and stars and shimmering diamonds. Designer gowns and workboots. Sweaty, cramped freight ships and ornate space-bound penthouses.
It is the culmination of years of work, professional editing sessions, and is the first in a trilogy of novels as the galaxy faces a threat of a ruthless religious cult.
AND IT IS FREE!
The author has a separate career, and trying to pursue the world of traditional publication was discouraging and destroyed the fun i have writing.
It would mean the world to me if anyone would give it a chance now that i have it posted again for free.
(Especially as i hope the second novel will be complete soon!)
XOXOXO
And as always, writblr, my inbox is always open for collaboration and community with other artists and writers.

I’m pretty sure it’s at least one person’s job to make up new crimes based on shit people just do while they go about their everyday lives.

I was tagged by @purple-on-black :) Time to pick something good.

Since I have a couple of projects going on, I hope it's alright if I share a couple of out of context lines <3
From Adamantine (cheating a bit, because it's a couple lines):
Your first kill came weeks later. Mother told you to survive, but not to be good. You were so hungry then. So very, very hungry.
This is from an earlier draft of my current project, The Goblin Bride:
“Love, Clarriss. Love is stronger than any magic there is. You can render a potion inert, you can create a dead zone, and you can block a spell. But love? Nothing stops it. Not fists, not fear, and not blood.”
This is from a Twine interactive fiction/game that I finished the first draft/outline of this week:
Tomorrow, maybe you’ll forget that the hole inside you is there until you trip over a rock, walking behind your armoured rescuers, and gain a dent in your head that won’t heal. It won’t ever heal.
And then finally, this one is from a project currently in the editing stage:
When Kogen’s voice failed to drop, like he’d expected it to, he’d panicked because he was sure that if he continued to sound like a “miserable warbling songbird” that Aldox would alter him, just like he did Mercuria. It wasn’t until later that he’d realized that there was a reason it wasn’t dropping.
Perhaps I need to slow down on the projects. Just having too much fun (read: my medication isn't handling my stress and I need to write constantly to feel sane). I'm going to tag my beloved @blades-of-calmoran (I know you have at least ONE line written) as well as @jaylex05 @aadhube @destinycraftswords @writingwithoutconfidence and @winterandwords, and anyone else who wants to join in :)
He stops. The foreign word holds this... power to it.
OC Development Side Series:
"Star's shine brighter during the night, light is more visible in the dark. But... I would've liked to know what the sun was like before I became nocturnal."
I don't have multiple projects. Just the one canon timeline 🤷♂️ Picked random lines here xD
@n3-k0 @anidoesntlikesand @drezdenformerlyspark @meiyohakobune and anyone else can join
