Secrets
Leonard Snart/Reader, ≈450 words Oh Leonard Snart my love. Inspired at least partly by the next piece in my tbw, that I believe you sent my way!
He’s your favourite customer, and you’re starting to think he knows it. Nowadays, there’s always a glint in his eye, a little pep in his step that wasn’t present upon your first meetings. You daren’t mention it, though. He’s likely to turn cold on you again. As fickle as a thin layer of ice.
“Can I get ya anything else, Captain?”
“Yeah.” He offers you a nod and a smile as you set his drink down on the bar before him, wrinkles forming just below his eyes. “Tell me something I don’t know.”
The shake of your head might have been taken more seriously had you not accompanied it with a smile of your own. You can’t help it; there’s just something about the way he looks at you that gets you hot and bothered.
“I got nothing new for ya.” You answer, and it’s mostly true. “This is the third night in a row you’ve been here. You hear everything I hear.”
It’s Len’s turn to shake his head, his eyes never leaving you, even as he sips his beer. “That’s not true, I don’t hear what you hear in the day.”
“You know how you don’t rob banks on your days off? I don’t get cosy with crooks and thieves during my off time.” Although you can think of at least one criminal you wouldn’t mind warming up with. Len doesn’t budge, though, and you can feel your skin growing hotter and hotter the longer he rakes his eyes along your body, waiting for you to fill his very intentional silence. “You wanna know something about my life? Fine, but it’ll cost ya.”
“Am I ever not good for it?” Actually, he’s often not good for it in the short term, but he always makes good eventually, and he tips well when he can, so you usually let him off. Helps that he’s easy on the eyes, too. To you, at least, anyway. You’re aware that dangerous, grumpy older men are an acquired taste.
Even so, money isn’t what you’re after. “You tell me a secret first.”
There’s a moment of true silence between you as he processes your fee. His smile faltering as he stretches out his jaw, and looks around the room. He reaches into his wallet, dropping a 20 on the counter even though he hasn’t even made a dent in his first drink. You pocket it anyway.
“You want a secret, darlin’?” He smiles back, but this time there’s a challenge to it. Like he’s daring you to do something, and in a way, he is. He tilts his head to the side, subtly pointing at the side door before taking one last sip of his drink and standing. “I’ll give you a secret, away from all these prying eyes and ears. How about it?”
Send me a character/ship & a prompt, and I'll write something.
