I think color hates being and feeling lied to. in the past I do think he’d have a tendency towards boundary pushing and fishing for information whenever he feels like he’s being lied to.

sometimes he was actually being lied to, sometimes he was being paranoid in response to his sensitivity towards signs of dishonesty and rejection or abandonment, but sometimes he was never being lied to—it was just something he didn’t and never needed to know because it never had anything to do with him.

Yall ever think anytime Killer mocked, criticized, belittled or dismissed Color’s kindness, Color experienced it as if Killer was mocking, criticizing, belittling and dismissing Kindness, and now there’s this little wounded hurt child part of Color wondering what she did wrong

I briefly talked about it in this post, but I was thinking about this image again, about the idea of color being filled with kindness, and how it could work as passive influence from the Kindness soul (who is a child), and how being influenced by the souls would differ drastically from things like Color himself being kind, brave, or patient in that how he approaches these things could potentially differ drastically.

Like, Color can be kind while understanding the full context and emotional complexities of a situation and the person or people he’s talking to or trying to help.

Whereas whenever something leaves him filled with Kindness, he could approach the situation with the understanding and innocence a child would have and a child’s understanding of what kindness is—such as assuming that everyone is kind and kindness can fix anything, often putting color in danger of being hurt or manipulated or just generally causing an inconvenience for himself that didn’t have to had happened.

Was thinking about this post again, about how the Patience soul communicates differently than the other souls, and I remembered how the rainbow color changing flames coming out of Color’s skull is actually magic and doesn’t burn anyone who touches it because of that.

And assuming it’s the souls’ magic, that kinda suggests to me that they choose—either consciously or not—to present their magic as flames, specifically rainbow flames that change color. But that also suggests to me that one or all of the souls could potentially change the shape of their magic into something else as well.

Howls I've been considering the possibility of Killer sleepwalking and his soul automatically shifting into Stage 3 when this happens (because that's the most instinctual pf the Stages) and now I can't get the image of Color finding him in the kitchen at three am shrouded in darkness with his almost nonexistent eye lights reflecting what little light there is back at him like cats' eyes do and letting out the world's loudest scream.

Basically, Color comes in, sees this:

And decides never again

Or alternatively, Color likes how creepy it looks and bravely draws closer
