Good Timber
by Douglas Malloch
The tree that never had to fight
For sun and sky and air and light,
But stood out in the open plain
And always got its share of rain,
Never became a forest king
But lived and died a scrubby thing. The man who never had to toil
To gain and farm his patch of soil,
Who never had to win his share
Of sun and sky and light and air,
Never became a manly man
But lived and died as he began. Good timber does not grow with ease:
The stronger wind, the stronger trees;
The further sky, the greater length;
The more the storm, the more the strength.
By sun and cold, by rain and snow,
In trees and men good timbers grow. Where thickest lies the forest growth,
We find the patriarchs of both.
And they hold counsel with the stars
Whose broken branches show the scars
Of many winds and much of strife.
This is the common law of life.
Back to basics: today’s workout
Up up down downs, half cobra push ups, goal post punchers, arm circles and inch worms X 2:00 each. Toe 2 ceiling pulse, hammy curl and grasshopper. One 1:00 each side for ceiling pulse and hammy curl. 1:30 for grasshopper.
Working around known medical issues. Gradually bringing myself back to where I was before my back and neck gave me fits.
Great for arm and glutes. Building myself back up safely and low impact. Cassey Ho inspired. Once a good level of endurance is established. Will start back high impact workouts.
Managing your body effectively and keeping down possible skeletal injuries is important. No need to worry about what the next person is doing. Look out for yourself first.
Be a girl with a mind A woman with attitude And a lady with class
“There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.”
~Desiderius Erasmus
I have never felt more in my power than when I am not reactionary with the narcissist in my life. I can laugh at the sheer stupidity and lies knowing that it doesn’t matter what they say. And continue to live my life anyway. Soon I’ll be out of the house and will only have to deal with him for co-parenting purposes. What a wild ride life is.
Day 1
5/26/2018 0041
I have decided to make this blog because it is something I have talked about doing for a long time, I already have a secondary
blog dedicated to my writing but being as I hardly write anymore... I thought this might be a necessary step to change that. My post are going to be (hopefully) daily logs, videos, and just my writing, pretty much just a dumping ground. I want to use this as a mechanism to overcome my depression, organize my thoughts, and feel like my words, feelings, experiences, and lifee really have an impact.... even if I am only writing to myself. who knows one day I may not be.
I have a tendency to type without capitalization or punctuation so bare with me. For now you can call me Hokage, I am 22 year old lost and broken spirit living in Indianapolis. I am currently working to save money up to go back to school, which isnt proving to be as easy a task as predicted. yet i preserve.
