A comic about migraines. More specifically the ones that takes up the eyes.
good morning.
i'm glad your office is willing to treat me, as you can imagine the sexual frustration of never getting a release has left me physically dripping wet and unable to think of much else.
It's reasuring to know that there is a therapy for this but I am concerned with how uncomfortable having to reach one (not to mention many), orgasms in a session. do you have to carry through with all of them or can patients leave the therapy early after one sucsessful one.
I've heard for more extreme cases of this condition that some patients need to stay overnight or inpatient to get more frequent or near constant stimulation. is this true? would this be considered a form of hysteria?
🦇
That’s a reasonable concern, but you must remember that doing the best thing for your health and wellbeing is not always comfortable!
Once the treatment plan is set in place we stick with it, although you will be reevaluated frequently and changes to the treatment plan will be made at my professional discretion. Usually as the patient’s symptoms improve the number of climaxes required and frequency of treatment sessions are slowly lowered until they reach what is considered maitnance level which is often one session weekly or every other week requiring only one-two orgasms. But no, if you feel overwhelmed after one orgasm yet your treatment plan dictates three then you must finish all three, despite whatever discomfort you might be feeling. Cutting a treatment session short can actually be quite detrimental and can set back your progress substantially. As can missing appointments. Typically if a patient misses more than two appointments they are moved to an inpatient protocol to ensure full compliance.
Leading to your next question; yes it is true that your condition sometimes necessitates inpatient admissions. While over-sensitivity and hysteria are not the same condition they are very closely related, one can actually be a symptom of the other! Over-sensitivity is a common symptom of hysteria. When you come in I will determine vis a set of questions along with my physical exam if you have any other symptoms of hysteria. If so your treatment plan will differ slightly. The treatment plans for both are similar but different, basic over-sensitivity is often easily managed with outpatient care but hysteria treatment is multifaceted and often requires inpatient stays, particularly in the beginning or during flare-ups. But it’s important to remember that with proper care many patients with hysteria can go on to live relatively normal lives once their condition is properly maintained.
While it is unlikely to be needed in your case I have had some patients who do require near constant stimulation as you discussed. These patients have to surrender all medical POA to me as their physician as most patients are begging to be discharged and give up on their treatment within the first couple of hours. Thankfully they have me to act in their best interest! Typically these patients experience 18 hours of stimulation for the first day then we lessen the intensity from there. I hear it can be quite exhausting as far as medical treatments go but we ensure they stay properly hydrated and care for all their physical needs so they can focus solely on recovery.
As I’ve seen such an influx of patients with concerns about hysteria, as well as the handful of cases I’ve diagnosed this week alone, I plan to release a more in depth post discussing hysteria signs and symptoms as well as details of what to expect when beginning treatment and the prognosis. I’ve gotten a handful of “what to do if I suspect I am suffering from hysteria” questions so I will also include the recommended first steps, such as how to bring it up to your Doctor and what to expect during a hysteria consultation.
You really should come in and see me as soon as your schedule allows. When left untreated over-sensitivity can progress to a form of hysteria which would be substantially harder and more invasive to treat.
You must do what is best for your health, my dear!

Being oversensitive sucks!
…….Sometimes and right now is one of those times for me. I will probably do a post soon where I explain a bit more about myself but for now all I will say is that one of the labels I have been given is BPD, which stands for borderline personality disorder. In case you didn’t know, that means that one of the things I have to contend with is being a highly sensitive person; my reactions often come…

@people who censor the word “st*pid”: tell me, how do you actually survive in the real world?
Fuck my dysautonomia and my over sensitivity to drugs.
I feel the need to express a notion to the rest of tumblr that I think needs to be heard. People aren't necessarily "bigoted" if they disagree with you. I say this because, whether you like it or not, other people have different opinions.
I bring this up because I've been seeing more closed-minded stances coming out of "liberal" people that need to be called out... why? Because it's hypocritical. It is hypocritical to say, "Fuck you you ignorant fuck. You deserve to be alone for the rest of your life" over a JOKE. And you can argue all day long on what you find funny or not, but you can't assume that that person made a joke with poor intentions, or rather that they openly hate or discriminate towards a kind of person or a certain set of beliefs.
Sure, some humor is undeniably inappropriate, but you people really need to calm the fuck down. I use this strong phrase because simple logic and reason doesn't seem to work for you. You need to "calm the fuck down" because this person sees things differently than you do, and maybe they are posing an exaggerated viewpoint as an effect. For example, everyone knows that Stephen Colbert doesn't mean what he says. He says the things he says, that usually are commonly said by a certain group, as is in order to reach a certain effect.
I'm tired of logging onto tumblr and seeing a absurd amount of notes from people because they have a strong urge to BLOW THINGS OUT OF PROPORTION. Just by telling that person that they are "a horrible person" for making a joke makes YOU the overly sensitive rights fighter that needs to truly assess whether something is really offensive or not.
And there are PLENTY of exceptions. But, please, fucking think before you create a thread of comments insulting some person. Yeah, maybe they are ignorant. But propose a HEALTHY debate instead of fighting back with the same tactics that they used. It's immature, tumblr.
Signed,
A tumblr member that is sick of a lot of your tumblr peoples' shit
You know how people who overreact by saying "Merry Christmas" is offending to them because they're non-christian sound like?

Person one: I only said hello.
