I didn’t realize this was on the bucket list for a lot of the people I know. Here are some things to consider if you want to do this in the future. This is much more of a tropical experience, much more so than Hawaii but also because it’s former French colony it’s a bit more expensive too. And many people have limited English. I’m tapping a lot of my high school French. (On the flipside, the people are truly warm and happy you are here.) If your resort offers a breakfast and dinner package, you should do that. It will save you money. Keep in mind in this climate you will likely also eat less. We went for a breakfast only package, and then went to a local grocery store by boat, and picked up snacks. So we are not always going to dinner. We are occasionally doing late lunches on the main island instead as well. Choosing the over the water huts was the right choice because we can all get together as a family, hang out, have our own happy hours, and snorkel right off of our docks. Lastly, if your kids don’t like to vacation with you, they will likely change their mind for this trip. We blew the minds of our two. . *** #tahitivacation #overthewater #huts #frenchpolynesia #borabora (at Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts) https://www.instagram.com/p/CaVTFMYvUn0/?utm_medium=tumblr
