why couldn't i just have been into normal asmr . why did my brain decide "hey why don't we follow every creator that does audio rps with really in depth storylines and try to follow the narratives"
Truly thinking through the story from the perspective of “Sir Knight” in Owlknight’s Flirty Prince series is actually heartbreaking.
Imagine… you’re a mercenary— coldhearted from the rough hand you’ve been dealt, beaten into submission and basically forced to join a rogue dissident collective of ‘knights’ under a heretic wannabe king. You have no choice in the matter.
Imagine… they give you one job; infiltration of the ranks of a royal court. They probably promise you your freedom if you succeed.
Imagine… on this mission you meet, by chance, the Prince of this kingdom. Bright and cheerful and flirtatious, he puts you off your guard immediately but you still have your chance at freedom. You try to persist.
Imagine… quite quickly you realize this prince can and WILL accidentally step fully into your mission and make everything more complicated for you. But he’s so dedicated to trying to do what’s right that you can hardly fault him.
Imagine… You realize he is the son of the man who sent you here to betray them all. You start to fall for him anyway.
Imagine… you make one final effort to remove this innocent prince away from harm— the harm that YOU have been ordered to cause. But because said prince is coming into his own, your effort has to be ignored. You cannot tell him the whole truth because now you are scared that if you tell him, you will lose him.
Imagine… you almost lose him anyway.
Imagine… despite it all, despite your cold heart and your betrayal and your duplicity, he still forgives you in the end…
It’s heartbreaking but god damn I love it.
