001 Raine x Eda

when I started shipping it if I did: when Raine went “Eda!! You’re embarrassing me in front of my crew 😳>:{” and then introduced her as an old friend

my thoughts: hmgh,,, they should hold hands n get married

what makes me happy about them: they get each other and they respect each other so much and they bring out the best in each other and share goals and have fun together and they’re equals and Raine already loves Eda’s kids before they’ve even met them

what makes me sad about them: EDA PUSHED RAINE AWAY AND THEN THEY JUST GOT EACH OTHER BACK AND NOW RAINE’S PUSHING EDA AWAY,,,, P L E A S E COMMUNICATE ISTG

things done in fanfic that annoys me: haven’t really seen anything. there was some raeda mommy kink discourse in the Raine tag awhile back, that was a wild day but I don’t read those fanfics and don’t really have an opinion either way lmao

what I look for in fanfic: I love when they have that casually comfortable bickering old married couple dynamic. Cuz they’ve known each other for so long <33 also Raine bonding with Eda’s kids!!

who i’d be comfortable with them ending up with, if not each other: nobody really

my happily ever after for them: they get married and are King’s parents and share custody of Luz with Camilla and custody of Hunter with Darius and Eber and fucking communicate with each other

who is the big spoon/little spoon: they don’t really spoon — one of them will lay/sit down and the other will flop down directly on top of them. Really just depends who lays down first

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: I like to think they play-duel quite a bit — they also both love experimenting with magic and committing crimes

Working on updating pretty much all of my characters. Some got very little updated and others got a pretty big redo. Overall I think they’re way more appealing and cohesive, and I’m getting better at drawing tabbies and torties

General opinions

The sequel trilogy did a great disservice to his character. If you like TLJ and his development there, fine, I respect that. I didn’t.

I have such a hard time that Luke “I was going to let my dad kill me to prove I believe he can be saved,” “I saved my father with love” Skywalker would not only attempt to kill his troubled nephew, but then also abandon the force altogether. Yes, he’s a flawed guy, that was apparent in the original trilogy. There were ways to exploit his flaws and weaknesses without completely doing away with character we saw in the Return of the Jedi. The sequel trilogy dropped the ball. Perhaps that puts me in the minority of fans.

Admittedly, I grew up on the Extended Universe where Luke continued to grow, make mistakes, and had a family. It was hard to see him robbed of that growth and happiness in the sequel trilogy.
