Fuck.
Of course, the one day you get to sleep in, the first day without any work to do for a month, the sun decides to shine through the tiny gap in your curtains and straight into you eyes.
“Ugh, why!” you moaned, holding the duvet up over your head to avoid the light. You rolled, hoping to make contact with Emily’s body, but there was nothing there. You patted your hand all over the mattress, but she wasn't there.
You could hear the faint clicks of laptop keys from the living room, so you reluctantly climbed out of the warm sheets, feet freezing against the cold tile floor.
She was sat on the sofa, still in her comfiest clothes, but her head in case files, a giant pile stacked next to her. You’d seen them the previous evening of course, but you’d desperately hoped she’d resist the temptation to get ahead on work this morning.
You walked over to the sofa, putting your arms over her shoulders and kissing her dark black hair.
“Your supposed to be in bed,” Emily murmured, kissing your arm but refusing to tear herself away from the work.
“So are you,” you went to sit beside her on the couch, but the files were in the way, so you chose to sit beside them and lean on your arms like a lost puppy.
“It’s our day off, I was hoping we could spend it in bed cuddling, maybe other things?”
“What other things?” She said, putting her file down.
“Watching movies?” She laughed at this, knowing full well you knew that wasn’t what she meant.
“Sure.”
“You,” you grabbed the file from her lap, throwing it on the floor despite her groans of irritation, “are going to go back to bed, where you’re going to wait for me to come back in half an hour.” Looking at a watch that wasn’t there on your wrist, you smiled hearing her sigh of acceptance.
“You’re lucky I love you.” She kissed you lightly on the lips before heading back to your shared bedroom.
“I’ll be back with breakfast!”
Okay but who decided almost the entire cast of Criminal Minds was going to do voice acting for the DCAU?
