Wow!! I'm so flattered that you seem so interested in knowing more 🥺
There is no free pdf that I know of online, nor is there a bootleg of any of the original productions. I will not share the recording I have of my production, but I do have a google drive containing the entire script. I'll consider DMing it to you, since it is a fascinating read if you like absurdist theatre (or want to branch out), and, of course, it's my favourite thing ever.
Millet is human! Category E takes place in a future where there are no more animals, so medical and cosmetic testing is primarily done on humans who go through a eugenics program. This, of course, is extremely dark (and not too far from actual, real life things happening to real life people, so it's not so much fantasy as it is... Taking real life tragedy and using it as a vehicle to dissect other real life tragedy. This is an issue I have with the text). However, there is SO MUCH fascinating animal symbolism within the text!! The characters are considered subhuman, and thus are treated like animals. The common comparison is rabbits, although for me, Millet is also a mouse (and Filigree is also a monkey) due to the tests they are based off of. Its real fascinating stuff!! Please don't dive too deep if you are sensitive to animal abuse and testing, as this play is based off of real tests that are done to real animals. Truly harrowing. Although, the play is littered with levity. The relationships between the characters are so tender and real. To me, it isn't so much a play about animal testing as it is a play about people loving each other in a difficult situation. Its a play about found family! AND ITS FUNNY AS FUCK!!! Also, you're so true, sometimes a guy is just a frightened hare!!!!!
Brutus I think was using hyperbole when addressing your question LOL. It is just an absurd situation to us. Category E is extremely personal to me, and so I am sensitive about what I disclose about it online. It being discovered through the Bigtop Burger fandom is just, I don't know. And conversely, Millet being released into the wild (tumblr blog johnwicklover1999) is a BAD IDEA!!!! Millet SUCKS!!!!! He is a JACKASS!!!!!!!
I think that's about it. DO let me know if you have any other questions. This play is so special to me, and it's REALLY GOOD!!!! I'd love for more people to get introduced to it, even if it is through a horrible crackship post >w<
