Patting myself on the back for making ribs in the slowcooker last night. Paired with roasted Ontarioasparagus, rapini and a bit of leftover beet and apple salad. The ribs were so easy with my homemade barbecuesauce. Just mix the following in a small bowl: • 3 tablespoons paprika • 1 tablespoons sea salt • 2 teaspoons black pepper • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (if desired, you can cut back on the pepper by only using ½ teaspoon of cayenne) • 1 teaspoon garlic powder • ½ teaspoon dried thyme • ½ tsp mustard powder • ½ tsp ground cumin • ½ cup honey • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar • 3 tablespoons olive oil Then rub salt and pepper on 3 - 3.5 lbs of pork shoulder or ribs, marinate in the barbecue sauce then place in a slow cooker with 1small onion, peeled and chopped. Cook at low for 8 hours.
