Imagine #2: Buck searching for you when your plane goes down in the ocean after the engine went out. He never gave up looking for you until he found you. After he pulled you out of the water, he held your frightened body close to his while he checked to make sure you weren't hurt anywhere else.
Can I get your hc on how Loki would react to his s/o coming out as bi to him? Like, especially when they are scared because they have faced prejudice before or had bad experiences when they came out to previous partners?
Sure! I will admit that I am not bi or pan, so if anything comes off as rude or wrong please, please, please let me know. Bi and pan deserve as much acceptance and understanding as everyone else, and there's nothing wrong with them.
I think, in Asgard, they don't have people come out like we do on Earth. For Asgardians, they're allowed to love who they want, regardless of gender, and it's just more accepted so Loki was never really looked at differently when he publicly showed interest in both men and women (I also think Loki is attracted to fluid, trans, nonbinary, but he just doesn't make a big show of it). So, when you come out as bi to him, he would simply tilt his head and say "I understand that. Why do you feel as if you must tell me?"
After explaining to him of the prejudice and judgement people who don't identify as attracted one gender, Loki would be a mixture of frustrated and confused. He doesn't understand - over everything and anything else people should be worried about, why must people make a big deal of other's sexuality? If one is already in a committed relationship and telling them something that is a fact about themselves, why is it considered a deal-breaker? He thinks it's rather pathetic that partners would look at them any different, just because they are don't mind one's gender in relationship. He is just...much confusion to the mortal mind.
Regardless of what your past partners or dates would have behaved, Loki is rather polite and patient with your emotions about it, but also supportive over the fact that you trust him enough to tell him something that was on your mind. He listens to your stories of past experiences, what you had expected in telling him something about yourself and gently correct you that, no matter what, Loki's feelings for you doesn't change that easily.
Loki would be more than happy to bring you to places where he knows you'll be accepted regardless, like to Asgardian festivals or event, where they just celebrate everyone (not much of a pride because, again, Asgard is more accepting of sexualities and genders). They celebrate life, victories and accomplishments, individuals successes and whatnot, and Loki makes it happen to celebrate you; because you allow him to love you and trust, and that means so much to Loki that he can't even put into words.
Summary: Steve introduced Robin to his friend, who happens to also like girls.
“Steve? Did you OD over there?” Robin said hoping her friend didn’t hate her now. He laughed slightly.
“No…no. Just thinking.” There was a short pause as he leaned fully back onto the stall. “You know I might have someone I could hook you up with.” Steve smirked at Robin. Robin raised her eyebrows and then leaned against the wall.
“If its one of your child friends I’m not interested.” Robin said starting to giggle and Steve began to laugh.
“No-no she’s cool.” Steve said resting his head against the concrete.
-
“Heyyy y/n.” You looked over at Steve as you began to stock the new shipment of movies the store received on the shelves.
“What do you want Harrington? If it’s to fight another inter dimensional creature I’ll pass.” You said walking away from him to the next empty shelve, yet he followed you like a lost dog. He looked around to make sure no one was listening.
“So….I have this friend.” He raised his eyebrows.
“Cool I didn’t know you had friends.” You smiled at him.
“I have this friend, who likes girls.” He said quieter.
“Wow you have a friend who liked girls. He must be real special.”
“It’s not a he.” You looked at Steve surprised
“And she likes girls? Like, likes girl?” You whispered back.
“Yea and I told I could set something up with you. So what do you say? Meet me at the diner tonight at 6 for our date.” Steve said walking backwards, winking at you.
“Sure Steve see you there.” As Steve turned around he knocked into a tray with movies on it.
“Bye.” He said.
“Bye.” You replied rolling your eyes.
-
“So Robin, this is y/n.” Steve spoke standing before the table he pushed you into in the back corner of the diner.
“Y/n, Robin. The one I was telling you about.”
“Yea no shit dipwad.” Robin smiled a little as you insulted the boy.
“Well I’ll leave you to it then.” You both watched Steve leave. When you turned back around to face her, an awkward silence fell.
“So……you like girls?” You whispered lightly Robin nodded slightly looking down at the floor. “Same.” You whispered lightly. God this was awkward you thought to yourself.
As you spoke your palms grew sweaty and it seemed you had lost all the confidence you gained when Steve told you he had a friend who was also into girls. But could you blame yourself for being nervous? You’ve never really been around a girl that also liked girls, that you knew of. Let alone go on a date. I mean it was a rare thing in 80s to be like that. It was usually rare and frowned upon.
“So when did you ugh find out.” You whispered starting to sip on your shake, trying to ease the tension.
“I liked this girl in sophomore year. She was obsessed with Steve. And I got angry and jealous. I thought it was cause I liked Steve. Then I saw the same girl kissing another guy. Still felt jealous and you know realized it was cause I liked her.” You nodded and a silence fell “You?”
“My one friend got a boyfriend. And I was extremely jealous, didn’t realize it was cause I liked her. She moved away to Utah or something. Then I saw one of my brothers playboy magazine and it all kinda made sense.” You said quickly, kinda of embarrassed.
“How did ugh Steve find out?”
“One of his parties. I was making out with this girl in the bathroom and I swore the door was locked, but he walked in. The girl ran away and I never saw her again, probably moved.” You stopped for a second “thought Steve was too drunk to remember it but then he came up to me at school and told me he wouldn’t tell anyone. That’s when he dropped his terrible friends he was more bearable…..sorry I’m talking a lot.” Robin laughed a little showing her beautiful smile.
“It’s alright. My life has been boring to say the least. Beside getting trapped by Russians.” You both laughed.
“Y-yea Steve told me about that. You must have been pretty smart to figure out all that shit.”
“I don’t like the gloat but yea.” She laughed a little and you smiled at her before laughing too.
“So how did Steve…..?”
“Its a long story but to make it short we were both drugged.” You laughed again at her. As you two had eye contact quickly looked away and to your milkshake, but Robin kept her eyes on you, smiling.
It had turned dark by the end of your date. As you were walking side by side to your car, both your arms dangled making it perfect for one of you to grab the others hand. Well perfect if you weren’t two girls.
“So ugh maybe we could ugh-we could-.” Robin raised her eyebrows in a playful manner. You dropped your purse as you tried to get out your keys.
“We could?” She questioned.
“We could do-go….do something again. Maybe. Cause you’re-you’re just wow.” You said trying to pick up your purse from the ground and as you kneeled and got back up you hit your head on the mirror. “And you’re so cool. And-and…” you placed your hand on the bump you created on your forehead and then Robin slowly moved her hand up to soothe it.
“And?”
“And you’re really pretty and I’m just trying to say I think I like you.” You said embarrassment flowing through your body crazily.
“Thanks….I think you’re pretty too.” She said awkwardly. “And I like you too.” She said smiling slightly. You regained some of your confidence.
“Maybe we could see a movie? The old theater opened up.”
“Y-yea we should see a movie.” Robin said her lips twitching up. You walked up to her quickly and peaked her cheek. You so badly wanted to kiss her but not in public. As you reached her car you bade her goodnight. When you turned around to leave she grabbed your hand and pulled you into her.
“There-there could be people. They-y could see-e.” Robin looked around the empty parking lot.
“I don’t see anybody?” She said sarcastically as she leaned into you. As you stood frozen she placed her lips on yours. It was like her kiss warmed you up and you placed your hand through her hair. You broke the kiss after a second.
“So tomorrow night? Old theater?”
“Y-y-Yep.” You said stunted. Robin laughed and brushed a piece of hair out of your safe.
“Be careful driving home.” She smiled brightly and giggled at your expression. With that she got in her car and drove away.
-
Three Months Later
“Mom I’m home! My friend’s here is it ok if we have a sleepover?”
“Sure sweetie!”
You and Robin giggled as you ran up the stairs, holding hands.
I come home in the morning light. My mother says, “When you gonna live your life right?” Oh mother dear we’re not the fortunate ones. And girls, they wanna have fun. Oh girls just want to have fun
You quickly both ran into your room and shut the door. You placed your hand on the side of Robin’s head and placed your lips against hers, as the song ringed out throughout the room from your radio.
Your lips moving in sink as you moved your hands to her hair and her hands roamed your body. You both split for air and then you grabbed her hand and lead her to your bed. You pushed her onto the plush bed. As you climbed on top of her, there was a knock at the door, which made you both freeze.
The phone rings in the middle of the night My father yells, “What you gonna do with your life?” Oh daddy dear, you know you’re still number one. But girls, they wanna have fun. Oh girls just want to have
“Hey turn down that ruckus!” You heard your dad tell from outside.
“Yes dad!” You reached over and turned the music down. You then leaned forward to Robin, attaching your lips once again.
Some boys take a beautiful girl. And hide her away from the rest of the world. I want to be the one to walk in the sun. Oh girls, they wanna have fun. Oh girls just wanna have.
“Now where were we.” You giggled into her lips. As you continued to kiss you ran your fingers up and down her shirt. She rolled you both over so she was now on top. She took off her shirt leaving her in a plain black bra. She deepened the kiss as she forced her tongue into your mouth, the pads of your velvet tongues playing with each other.
You heard another knock and both your head snaps towards the door. You quickly pushed Robin off of you and went to your closet. You pretended to be looking through it.
“Yes?” You shouted. Your mom didn’t answer but opened the door. She looked over at Robin who gave her an awkward wave and then to you. “What? We’re just trying on clothes.” You said to her. She smiled at you dropping off your laundry basket of fresh clothes.
“Girls.” She whispered to herself as she closed the door. You and Robin both looked at each and giggled. You threw your shirt and jeans off and into the laundry basket.
“Now lets make sure we don’t get interrupted again.” You said as you walked over to your door locking it. Robin sat on your bed resting on her elbows, smirking as you approached her.
When the working day is done. Oh when the working day is done, oh girl. Girls just wanna have fun.
Summary: After your break up with your longtime girlfriend, Wanda, your best friend Bucky does his best to try to get you to move on.
The door slowly shut behind you and you trudged down the hall away from the place that used to be called your home. In your arms was the last of your stuff. It was for the best. After you and Wanda held each other, through the sniffling and sobs, after telling one another that they’ll always have a place in your heart, you parted ways.
You and Wanda had been together for four years, almost five. She was your first love, but you wanted different things. She wanted to begin thinking about marriage and a family. Marriage you were contemplating, but you weren’t too keen on kids. And then it was decided. There was no point in a relationship to continue if you both wanted separate things.
There was no malice towards Wanda and she had none towards you. It was a hard, but mutual decision. It was for the best, but it hurt so fucking much.
After you put the final box of your things into your car, you pulled out your phone, immediately calling your best friend on Facetime.
His face immediately pops up, a smile on his face, “Hey! What’s-” his smile dissipates when he realizes you’re crying, “Y/N?”
“It’s official. Wanda and I are done. I moved out of our apartment. It-It’s over, Bucky and I thought I was going to be okay, but I’m not. I’m not okay.”
“Shit,” he mumbled, “I’m at the gym, but I’ll be back at my place in like ten minutes. So I’ll see you there, okay?”
You wiped your snotty nose with the sleeve of your hoodie and nodded, “Okay.”
“You’re gonna be okay, Y/N. I know you will. I’ll see you soon.”
“See you soon,” you grumbled and ended the call. With a quick wipe of your eyes and nose, you turned on the car and headed to Bucky’s apartment, your new home.
When Bucky came home, he found you curled up on the couch blankly staring at the tv. He tossed his gym bag onto the floor and rushed over to you.
“C’mere,” he said and he sat on the couch, pulling you over so you could rest your head on his lap. He didn’t say anything else, just sat there rubbing comforting circles on your back as you cried. The sight was breaking his heart. He hated seeing you in this much pain. But he knew you had to let it all out. Once you did, it’d be easier for you to move on.
_______________
You settled into Bucky’s apartment with ease. He helped you as much as you could, moving everything around so your own stuff could fit. You felt bad intruding in his bachelor pad. But he insisted you stay with him.
“You’re my best friend, Y/N. I’m not gonna let you struggle to find a place when I have room,” is what he said.
Within two weeks, you were completely moved in as well as beginning the healing process of your break up.
Seriously, Bucky has been a lot of help. He’s been keeping you busy and smiling and you were incredibly grateful for that.
Today has been the first time you actually went out for fun. You’re at some club with Bucky chugging down cocktails, beer, and shots. You feel your body become more loose with every drink and you love it. You’ve been so tense ever since the break up, but right now you feel so free.
You and Bucky came back to your table after dancing like crazy, panting and sweating like crazy. You went to go take a swig from your beer, but Bucky immediately grabbed it.
“Ah ah! Start drinking water! We don’t want you completely messed up tonight.”
You groaned as you slumped into your chair, “Fiiiine!” you took the glass of water from him and gulped half of it down, setting it onto the table with a refreshed, “Aaaahh!” You then look at Bucky, who was sporting a dorky grin on his face, “What?”
He shook his head, “Nothin’, I’m just glad you’re enjoying yourself.”
You sighed, “Yeah. Thanks for this, Buck. I’m glad I have you in my life,” you stood up and leaned over, pecking his cheek. When you pulled back, you staggered a bit. You giggled, “Woah,” you got back your balance and stood straighter, “I’m gonna head to the bathroom.” As you made your way to the bathrooms, you didn’t see Bucky lightly touching the place where your lips touched his cheek.
____________________
Two months later and you think you’re making a lot of progress with moving on. Whenever Wanda is brought up in conversation, you don’t feel sad anymore. Sure, you do have those moments, but then you remember that it was for the sake of your happiness and hers. Maybe right now, you don’t feel completely happy, but you’re getting there. And it’s because of Bucky Barnes.
“Dude, I got us tickets to see It: Chapter Two!” he said excitedly as he came home from work.
“Nooo!! You know I can’t do scary movies!” you whined.
He shrugged, “It’s okay. You can hide in my shoulder or something if you want.” you glared at him and he pouted, “Pleeeaaase? Steve, Sam, and Nat have already seen it! Let’s gooo! I already bought the tickets!”
You groaned, “Fine! But don’t complain about me constantly jumping and/or screaming.”
“Yes! Get ready! The movie’s in an hour!” he hollers as he rushes to his room. You roll your eyes and drag yourself off the couch, you have no idea why you do these things for him.
Indeed, you hid a lot in Bucky’s shoulder. You couldn’t deal with all of the jump scares. You hated them and not to mention you hated how creepy Pennywise was.
“I’m gonna have nightmares for days because of you, you asshole,” you grumbled as you got into Bucky’s car.
He snickered, “It wasn’t that bad.”
Later that night, right before Bucky was about to go to sleep, you came into his room looking terrified.
“Nightmare?” You nodded and he immediately scooted over, “Hop in.” you walked over to his bed and slid into the opposite side of him, rolling onto your side so you’re facing him.
“I really hate you, Barnes,” you grumbled.
He chuckled, “No, you don’t.”
You sighed, “Yeah, you’re right. I don’t. I...I think I’m falling for you.” You don’t know why you said it, you shouldn’t have said it. You shook your head and rolled over to face away from him, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that.”
You felt rustling of sheets and the dipping of the mattress behind you, “It’s okay, Y/N.”
“No,” you rolled over to face him again, “It’s not. It’s not okay because I got out of a long term relationship two months ago and these feelings...I don’t know if it’s just to make you a rebound or ‘cause I’m lonely or-or if they’ve always been there. All I know is that I’m not ready to get into a relationship again and I don’t want to ruin the relationship we had. Because if I did, it’d ruin me. I can’t lose you, Bucky.”
“You won’t,” he murmured, “You have me, Y/N. You’ve always had me,” the way he said that made you believe that it meant something more. “I’ve always loved you, Y/N, more than my best friend. I’ve waited for you for so long and I’m perfectly okay with waiting for you more. I love you, Y/N and I’ll always be there for you, however you want me. Best friend or lover, I’m here and I’m yours.”
You closed your eyes, cleaning forward and resting your head against Bucky’s, “I don’t deserve you, Bucky Barnes.”
You fell asleep in his arms that night and with every passing day, you slowly began to forget about the pain and sadness from your relationship with Wanda. Instead, you started to feel lighter and happy again. And it was all thanks to Bucky, your Bucky.

“while I am lost, im no fairy pirate boy” you sneered, keeping the fear out of your voice if he figured out who you were, you were gonna be in deep shit.
“feisty little fairy arent yeh, alright, ill call yeh lost girl then, now I asked yeh a question” his eyebrow twitched, irritation bubbling up at your indirect refusal of answering his question.
“who are yeh?”
You rolled your eyes, keeping up the brave façade. “no one of consequence” the boy smirked and tilted his head.
“I must”
You huffed and turned, starting to walk away. “get used to disappointment”
The boy sneered but stopped when he saw a particular item you were wearing.
A green beanie with a red feather stitched to the side, his eyes widened with glee.
“pan~” he sang at you, you froze in fear, how did he figure out?!?!
Shit the beanie!! You quickly ripped off your head and glared at the hook boy. Hoping he wouldn’t see your shaking fingers.
“it's not mine, I just found it around”
The boy's smirk dropped, clearly unimpressed by your excuse. “lies,” he sneered, stalking up to you and snatching the hat. Holding it up between the two of you. “if yeh found it laying around he’re it would’ve been torn and old, this thing looks like it's brand new, yer pans kid, no doubt.”
You were frozen in fear, unable to look away, he had seen right through your lies and had you trapped.
The grinned sadistically, knowing he had you cornered.
“now little lost girl~” he sang as he ran his hook through your hair, you shivered at the cold metal brushing your cheek “what's yer name~”
“(y/n)” you whispered, hoping he wouldn’t hear you “(y/n) pan”
“well miss (y/n) Pan~ pleasure meeting yeh, I” he took a step back and bowed low, keeping his blue eyes on you. “am Harry Hook, and im sure yeh have figured out who I am”
“the son of captain hook” you muttered, glancing around for an escape. Harry's eyes followed yours, quickly making plans to prevent you from escaping his grasp.
“Another thing I would like teh know is” Harry drawled, standing to his full height and looming over you, “why are yeh here? Don’t yeh live on neverland with pan?”
You huffed, not really wanting to tell him what happened “I don’t know why I was asleep and then I woke up here.”
Harry rose his brow, huh, now he would have though pan had enough of being a parent and threw you away to here, just like every other parent did.
Harry hummed, “so the lost girl is truly lost eh, meh da will know what teh do with yeh” harry grasped your arm roughly and began to drag you to god knows where.
You started to panic ‘shit shit shit how do i-‘ quickly thinking you slammed your foot onto his and twisted his arm, releasing his grip on you, you turned the other way and bolted, running as fast as you could.
Harry growled, and sprinted after you, quickly catching up to you. He saw you breathing heavily, he smirked ‘she doesn’t have high endurance, good, that'll work to my advantage’ he thought, as you began to pant from over extortion.
‘fuck you dad’ you thought, tears burning at your eyes, cursing your dad for never teaching you more endurance and let you join the training.
All of a sudden your foot caught a rock and you squealed, falling face forward to the ground. That’s when strong leather-clad arms caught you. But relief didn’t fill your chest, only more fear.
“got yeh, now come on lassie, me da would like to see yeh”
“p-please no! I cant-I cant” you began to hyperventilate, trying your best to wiggle out of his arms.
“harry! I've been looking- who is that?” a black girl with tight teal braids came around the corner, raising her brow at harry standing over you, both breathing heavily.
“Uma!” harry panted grinning at her. “yeh will never guess who this is!!” the girl, Uma, furrowed her brows, agitated.
“I care why?”
Harry's grin turned dark and you shivered from the malice within his eyes. “its the daughter of pan~”
Umas eyes brightened, a smirk playing on her lips. “well why didn’t you say so~ bring her to the ship”
Harry nodded and hoisted you up over his shoulder, carrying you as if you weighed nothing more than his sword at his side.
‘no no nonono!’ you thought desperate to get out of his grip, wriggling around, but he didn’t budge.
“let's go, little lost girl, im gonna have fun with yeh” you froze, you did not like the sound of that, but before you could try once more to free yourself from his grasp, your eye caught a child…laying limp on the ground, clutching their stomach and face pinched in pain.
Tearing your eyes away from the sight, you saw another child running away from a merchant, holding moldy apples and bread in his arms, clothes ripped and old.
The smell of the place was also horrific, old rotten milk, food, and feces.
Now you knew why the VKs hated talking about the isle, it was hell on earth.
Soon the rotten smell began to ebb away, the smell of the sea brushing your senses. Twisting yourself to look over Harry's shoulder, you saw a large imposing ship, marked with old chipped paint.
‘Lost Revenge’
Harry set you down, keeping a grip on your arms preventing you from running away.
Placing his chin on your shoulder, smirking at you. He proudly announced the ship.
Taehyung used his index finger to push up his glasses and then gave a small Korean girl her Vegan Vanilla Chai Latte. He had been working here ever since high school to buy video games, but this place ended up becoming his safe space. He loved the smell of the Arabica beans fresh in the morning and the various brews throughout the day.
It had become a place for college students to congregate for study nights. Finals were coming up soon, so they’d have a lot more college aged kids in the upcoming month.
“What’s this?” A young man named Vai asked after ordering. He came around enough to be recognized, but not exactly a regular.
He was referencing to the mug shaped piggy bank with sheets of paper and a pen next to it. Tae explained that the shop was taking suggestions about what they could do to help improve the atmosphere of the coffee shop, especially with the younger crowd.
“Any good suggestions, yet?” The shy boy asked.
“Nah, mostly just menu things that we can’t afford and some stray coins or whatever.”
“Can I write something?”
Taehyung motioned to the container, “Go ahead.”
The foreign YouTuber wrote something and put in into the piggy bank. The next time Taehyung looked at the clock, it was 8:21 at night. He’d be here soon, and so the brown haired young man started preparing his order. Four minutes later, the bell rung and a young man in a purple jacket came in with a group of his friends.
They all set down their backpacks at the seats they chose. Some started unpacking while others began to line up.
“(Y/N)~!” Taehyung’s husky voice called out.
The young man in the purple jacket turned around and smiled. He approached the counter with a smile to get his pre-made order.
He chuckled, “You know you don’t have to do this every time.”
“You’re a loyal customer. It’s my pleasure.”
“There might be a day I order something differently.”
Tae shrugged, “It’s been four months. I highly doubt it.”
The young man huffed, “That just means I’ll surprise you next time.”
He went back to his friends, and Taehyung just sighed. The barista loved the boy in the purple jacket more than words could describe. He had started coming about four months ago to study for an entrance exam or something and had returned every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
The first night, he had asked Taehyung for the best coffee.
“Oh, I don’t drink coffee, but the tea here is really good.”
His chuckle had made the barista’s heart go !!!, “If you don’t drink coffee, why are you working here?”
“Money’s good and I like the atmosphere. The people are mostly nice too. I’d suggest hot chocolate or the butterfly pea tea.”
By the end of the day, there were about 50 suggestions Taehyung had to go through before closing. The boss wanted to help go through them, but there was no way his most loyal employee was going to let him.
“You need your rest, sir. I’ve got it. I’ll let you know if we have anything interesting when we open tomorrow.”
After going through them, he found that there were mostly usless suggestions or ones that would cost way too much money. There was one that was actually a really good idea, however. Live music. Having a coffeehouse musician was popular nowadays, and there would probably be a lot of untapped talent in the local area.
After suggesting it to the boss later the next day, he thought it was a wonderful idea as well. | Soon enough fliers and posters were hung up in the shop and also around town displaying the time and date of auditions to sing in the coffee shop. They were looking for someone with a gentle and clear voice, hopefully they could play guitar. It wasn’t a requirement since instrumentals could be found online at any time.
The day of auditions came, and Taehyung was annoyed. They were being held at the back of the coffee shop as to not bother the patrons. He didn’t understand why so many people thought screemo or rap would do well when the flier said “gentle and clear”
“Next!” He called as he scratched out yet another name from his list and balled up their application. He grumbled to himself about how people didn’t know how to read nowadays.
The next person that showed up sounded familiar, “Um, hi?”
“Hi. So you’re called the...” He looked up to see the man in the purple jacket and swallowed. “The Pa-bros? Is that correct?”
Both Tae’s crush and the broad-shouldered man next to him nodded. The other man was someone who visited but never dressed so casually. Taehyung sat up straight and asked them to give their real names for him to write down.
“I’m Kim Seokjin.”
“And I’m (Y/N). We’re the Pa-Bros.”
He wrote down both names and then asked to hear what they had. Seokjin began to strum on his guitar and (Y/N) sung out in a pristine and beautiful voice that carried the most human of souls in it. He was singing “Put Your Records On” by Corrine Bailey Rae. It made Taehyung’s heart flutter, and he could’ve sworn he forgot how to breathe until the end of the song.
Everyone in the room let out a breath.
“Wow.” The barista said. “That was amazing. I’ll let you know how you did within the week. Yeah, I’m speechless. Thank you for your time.”
“Thank you.” Both said and bowed. Seokjin packed up his guitar and slung it over his shoulder while the other placed his stool against the wall.
Several patrons of the coffee shop were standing outside the door when the two left. It surprised the two performers, but it also gave the barista more of a reason to hire them. There had been only two other decent auditions the whole day other than (Y/N) and Seokjin.
“So, how’d it go?” The boss asked as he helped to clean up the tables as his brown-haired employee swept the floors.
“It went well. I’ll show you the footage of the top three once we’re done cleaning up.”
The two men sat at a table and watched the performances on Taehyung’s phone in the silent shop. They had all done incredibly well. It was hard for them to choose a favorite and decided to do one final test to see who they could have perform for them. Of course, there was only a certain amout of money that could go towards paying these talents, so they had to be worth it.
Once home, Taehyung sat at his laptop and sent out rejection emails to the 34 people who did not make it. Then you sent emails to the final three: Pa-bros, Mia Kim, and a brother sister trio called Gro Up. The message explained that they would have to do a live performance the upcoming Wednesday to see how well their visitors liked their talents.
It would also show who could handle performing live in front audience. Tae didn’t send the message to them yet since he wanted his boss’s approval to make sure it had everything he wanted in it. Instead, he listened to jazz in the shower and while he microwaved his dinner, humming along to the brassy notes
He really hopped the Pa-Bros made it just so that he could see (Y/N) every other day of the week.
The day came, and Taehyung made sure his uniform was clean and had even fixed his glasses for tonight. He had seen people talking about the coffee shop competition on SNS. Even though it wasn’t marketed like that, he figured that’s what this basically was. A competition to see who got the job.
Wait, fuck! Does that mean it’s gonna be busy today? Tae thought as he picked up his speed to the shop.
The answer was yes. Luckily, the boss had anticipated this and restocked two days earlier even ordering extra for the crowd. The store would be getting more popular after this, huh?
Tae put his stuff into his locker after clocking in and put on his apron. Getting to work was fun as he watched speakers be set up where the stage would be sooner or later. It wouldn’t be that big, just a bit higher than the rest of the store for better viewing. The orders came quickly, but the interest made most people more patient. That was good.
Then the boss said that the two Park Jimins could take over the counter, and he could introduce the acts and work the floor due to his natural charisma. He nodded and went to do just that with nothing prepared.
“Hi, everyone. Glad to have you here.” He said into the taller microphone. “We have three amazing acts for you to watch tonight. The winner will be decided by your applause and will become perminant entertainment for the store!”
A few people clapped, making him smile despite his nerves.
“Anyways, first up is a band of twin sisters and thier little brother. Please welcome to the stage, Gro Up!”
The trio began to sing and play their instruments, but something was off. It quickly came apparent that one of the sisters weren’t feeling well. She darted towards the bathroom to throw up. Her twin followed as the youngest thanked the audince for their attention, but they were going to withdraw from the competition. He scampered off to check on his sisters.
Taehyung was pushed back on stage where he introduced Mia Kim who did well despite the events that literally just happened seconds ago. Then Tae introduced Pa-Bros. Another stool was set up in the space and microphones were placed where the best sound could be heard from each.
Today (Y/N) wore a vest over a checkered dress shirt. The sleeves were rolled up halfway which made him look more handsome than usual. Jin was also dressed nicely, but Taehyung’s eyes were glued to (Y/N) His face was so handsome and he seemed comfortable under the stares of the largest Wednesday afternoon crowd they’d ever had.
“Hi, we’re Pa-Bros, and we’ll be singing ‘I’m Yours’ by Jason Mraz.”
The Barista closed his eyes as he listened to the singer. It felt as if he were transported to an island where it was just the two of them in swim trunks exploring the forest with smiles on their faces. They played in the water until sunset where they made a bonfire and slow danced under the stars. They now sat by the ocean in a blanket with the fire crackling near by.
He laid his head on Tae’s shoulder and smiled at him, “I really love you.”
Taehyung snapped out of his daydream while people applauded and felt his cheeks get warm, but he clapped as well. What kind of daydream was that? He had never let his imagination go that far when thinking about the man, but this time was different. (Y/N) looked at the blushing barista who gave two thumbs up in return.
Then people voted for the two artists. Ten minutes later, they were counted up by the female Jimin who texted Taehyung the winners. Gro Up had apologized and gone home out of embarassment but said they wished Mia and Bros luck since they had both done so well.
“Alright, folks.” He adjusted his glasses as everyone quieted down. “Before I announce the winner, I wanna thank all of you for coming to see the show and ordering while you’re here. It means a lot.” He clapped and smiled.
“I’d also like to give a round of applause to our lovely entertainment. All of you were absolutely stunning tonight and are both winners in my book.” Applause and cheers.
Taehyung continued, “However, in the payroll, there can only be one or the other. We’ve counted up all the votes three times and by two different people. The winner is...” He opened the text message and beamed as he saw the name, “The Pa-Bros!”
The whole coffee shop became an uproar of cheers. The two boys hugged each other and then bowed to Mia who congratulated them. As Taehyung moved to congratulate them as well, (Y/N) pulled the barista in by the collar and kissed him square on the lips.
After the two parted, he said, “Sorry, I just promised myself I would kiss you if I won.”
“Good.” Tae said and kissed back.
A few months passed and the coffee shop was doing better than ever. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they would have a poetry slam. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays were when The Pa-Bros--who renamed themselves to Koffee Kings--performed on the new stage.
Taehyung clocked in as usual, humming jazz. He always showed up half an hour earlier to watch his boyfriend (Y/N) perform a couple of songs. By the time he clocked in, it was a five minute intermission. Sometimes when his love was in a really good mood, Tae’s boyfriend would dance with him after giving people their coffees.
He was wearing the purple jacket tonight, “Don’t forget to tip your waiters, especially cuz that one’s my boyfriend! I love you, Tae!”
“Love you too!” The barista replied, blushing with the biggest smile on his face.
Kim Taehyung always liked working here, but he could tell that he would enjoy it even more.
