To Trans People in Relationships with and Attracted to Cis People

You deserve love and affection. You are just as capable of being a loving, healthy partner as any cis person and loving you is not a burden. Your relationship is defined by your identity, not your assigned sex at birth. Anyone who says your m/m or f/f relationship is m/f or vice versa is a transphobe and not worth listening to. You get to decide if your relationship is n/f, n/m, m/m, f/f, or m/f. The shit transphobes try to sling at us will always say more about them than about us.

You are not (are never) predatory for being attracted to cis people. Experiencing attraction isn’t something someone can control. Your love is not wrong. Your love is not a burden. You deserve to have your identity respected in your relationships. There are cis people who will see you for your true gender. Who would love and respect you as a person of your true gender. The idea that it’s impossible for cis people to love you as you really are is simply a transphobic lie.

You deserve love and respect in your relationships. You deserve someone you can communicate honestly and openly with in mutual respect. If someone is cruel or abusive to you in a relationship, it is not your fault. The transphobia, queerphobia, and cruelty other people heap on you is never your fault for existing and loving.
