Rewatching Peaceful Property as I'm wont to do, and I realized today that during this scene in episode three:

Pangpang starts reciting a part of the Barbie movie monologue given by America Ferrera's character, which starts off "It is literally impossible to be a woman. You are so beautiful, and so smart, and it kills me that you don't think you're good enough," before going onto a list of contradictory standards 'you have to' meet as a woman in contemporary life.

But Pangpang gets interrupted by the landlady:

Which, to my reading at least, is such a clever burn against feminism without any kind of capitalist critique.

And of course, this scene occurs right after Pangpang's reviewing a pink plastic ghost radar—remind you of any Mattel toy branding?

"Zero Pangs: It doesn't work at all."

You don't have to read into the references and symbolism in this show to enjoy it, but you'll be missing out on half the fun.

Listen. I know it probably means nothing. And I'm definitely overthinking this. But can someone explain why this scene is haunting my existence and breaking my heart!?!

Like the framing- does it mean something that Pang, Kan and Home are on one side and Peach is on the other?

I don't know why my brain jumped to conclusions at this framing, but there's clearly still enough space for all 4 of them to be on the same side of the column and not hit their heads (or some safety issue like that).

Does this have something to do with Peach wanting to sit next to Home but Kan had that space so he took the next closest spot. But there is still a big barrier they have to cross to get there? (Because ouch, the romantic symbolism of that! They keep saying it's not a BL, and yet the frekin metaphors) there's still something holding them back from being too close?

Does Peach have a bigger secret we don't know about??

Or is it because Peach might actually die at the end of the series (don't make that happen, istg P'Dome!) because it's almost like he's taking care of them from the other side (he got them all food and woke Home up and made sure all 3 of them are fed. Food is definitely his love language 🥺).

Or have I just gone crazy about the minor details of this show, they just decided it was fun framing to ISOLATE ONE CHARACTER! Who's to say ig...

Favorite female identifying character ?

Pangpang (Peaceful Property)

She is everything to me.

While everyone else was focused on Peach and Home’s whole…thing, when I watched Peaceful Property my attention was glued to Pangpang and seeing whatever silly thing she would do next.

She is the emotional life blood of Peaceful Property. The series is so well written, but I wholeheartedly believe that a lot of it would not work as well as it currently does if she was missing. So any of the series’ emotional beats rely on Pangpang’s ability to be whimsical and fun.

Her antics juxtaposed against Peach and Kan’s seriousness is always a treat. My favorite part of her character is actually something I take issue with in lesser series; her job as an influencer. It genuinely makes so much sense for her personality wise but also for the narrative. As someone is is friends with a lot of people who love watching live streamed ghost hunts, Pangpang feels like a heightened version of those people.

She’s like if my irl friends were the one’s doing the ghost hunting. So fun!!

Despite being largely comic relief, Pangpang is given dozens of emotional scenes as well, which work towards building her up to be a believable and human character.

And her character design?? Every episode her costumes just get better and better. So trendy!!

And yes I know that Peaceful Property doesn’t count for this, idc :)

I finished Peaceful Property and I'm so sad I cried so much more during this show than I thought I was going to, it was so good and I'm gonna miss it so much, I don't care what anyone says it was more romance than bromance, the only thing that I didn't care for too much was how things ended with somkid and gramps, other than that 10/10 and I'm sad it's over
