I want you to know that I have never watched an episode of Emmerdale (I'm not even confident as I type this that that's what it's called) but becuase you put the gays on my dash I had a dream last night about them having sex in the corner at a house party I was at and everyone was annoyed because they wouldn't stop

yes it's called Emmerdale, and the gays are actually one gay and one bi guy - I'd say look it up on youtube but it's very angsty and without a happy ending because one of them left the show (😢)

oh this is so hard, i have so many. i'm gonna cheat and do one western and one bollywood

for the western, one of my favorites at the moment is elemental. i've been thinking about it ever since you told me to watch it, it's just so good. a movie you can tell was made with so much love and care. every last detail is perfect and i resonated so hard with it, it's one of those movies i'll treasue forever

my favorite bollywood movie is probably hum tum, partly for nostalgia's sake but mostly this is pure comfort for me. it almost definitely does not age well, there is a lot of gender essentialism all over the place and it's.... not great, but at its core it's about two people finding each other throughout their lives and the journey they go on together. also has one of my favorite bollywood soundtracks ever which is a huge plus

24 Did you keep any New Year’s Resolutions? Nope - I didn't make any. You know that "shout out if you made it to Friday" post that keeps making the rounds on here? That's kind of my life motto. SO MUCH has happened the past 2,5 years - making it to Friday is at least an achievable goal.

You are loved and valued and it is so completely fucked up that you have to grit your teeth and swallow your hurt in order to exist in this fandom or any fandom, and so illuminating and disheartening to see how truly resistant most people are to even the idea of someone else discussing fandom racism and the problematic ways characters of colour are treated/talked about. It's so truly inappropriate to try to shut someone else up when they are talking about the very real pain of their marginalization and the way that is exacerbated by how white people in fandoms are often happy to engage in the performance of being a Good White Person but aren't willing to put in the actual work it would take to make these spaces welcoming for POC fandom members.
