Arriving back in the hospital and changing into clean clothes all seemed like a blur. Standing in the middle of the changing room Mark sighed deeply as he rested his head against the locker door, breathing in deeply he could feel his hands scrunch into fists with anger. Anger at himself, he was useless. What happened at that sick hole disappointed Mark beyond belief in himself. He froze. The whole scene brought back dark memories for him. As he bit down on his bottom lip he lifted his phone out and texted Lexie. Lexie would make him feel better, although they had a rocky past which seemed unresolved, Mark didn't care, he needed her.
Mark texted her asking her to meet him in the hospital lobby. Perhaps they could grab a bite to eat together, just something where he could look at her, and she could make him smile like she always did. Lexie always make him feel better, part of him knew deep down Lexie would be the person who would fix him. Making his way down to the lobby, he texted Laine to make sure she was okay and promised her he would drop in to check on her. Standing waiting on Lexie he tried to keep a smile on his face for her arriving.
Kim couldn't sleep that night - at all. She couldn't sleep at all, even when she managed to calm Adam down and lay him in the bed beside her to fill the empty void, she couldn't sleep. She didn't realize how Noah's warmth beside her made her feel safe until he was not beside her, and she felt the guilt weigh her down. How could she? How could she call him out on not being his biological father? After all he has done. He took a bullet for her, damn it. Kim sat awake all night beside the baby, calming him down whenever he stirred, dozing off for a minute or two. In the morning, she stepped out of the room slowly after setting Adam in his crib in the nursery and taking the baby monitor with her. She searched the house top to bottom, but Noah was no where to be found. She bit the inside of her cheek, biting back the tears before she took a deep breath and made herself some breakfast.
Adam stirred as soon as she was done with her food, and she made her way upstairs, lifting up the baby in her arms. "Hey there baby." She cooed as she kissed his cheek, "Mommy annoyed you last night, didn't she?" She muttered, rubbing his back as she hugged him close, "She's so sorry." Kim sighed, "Mommy just needs to breathe a little. Do you want to go on a walk with Mommy?" She asked the baby and tilted her head when he did, smiling and watching as he mirrored her smile sleepily. "Alright, let's get you fed and bathed now, yeah?" Kim smiled as she maneuvered him to feed him.
In no time, both of them were ready. Both clean and fresh. Adam was wearing a cute striped shirt and jeans pulls ups, along with a jacket and a winter hat, because it was cold outside. It was Seattle. Kim had some post partum clothes that she had that didn't look too huge on her, and she'd dropped most of the pregnancy weight with a little bit of this and that here and there. She normally had a high metabolism. Kim eased Adam into the stroller and picked up his bag along with her own. "Alrightie then, we're off." She said with a smile leaving the house as she left a note on the table. Kim called a cab to get her to a park in the city, instead of walking in the wilderness around her uncle's house. Halfway there, an idea popped in her head, "Actually, do you Seattle Grace Mercy West?" Kim asked, then gave him the address to her uncle Mark's apartment, cause she knew Lexie was staying there. Kim made her way to the door and knocked once, looking down at Adam with a grin, "You're gonna meet your uncle Mark and Aunt Lexie now. They've been a bit busy, but they'll love you." She cooed as she adjusted the cap on Adam's head. She hadn't seen her friend in a while, a long while too, and felt guilty she never called or checked on her, here was her chance to make it up though.
After her meeting with the chief - the word 'joyous' was an understatement. She got her job back - true, she was still an intern, but still - she got her job back. She was so excited the for a moment she forgot about all her troubles for a minute, then she had to remember them as she made her way back to the apartment she used to live in. The place where she was supposed to spend the best days with her roommates, really. But then, the situation was just flipped - like she's just blinked and all her plans went down the trash. Now she had new plans. She was going to be a mother. The thought scared her, but she was going to do this right, hopefully.
She took a deep breath as she stepped out of the car, glancing around hesitantly. True, she's been out of the house on her own after all this more than once, but the idea of being in this neighborhood just raised goosebumps on her skin. She shrugged it off, nothing out of the norm was going to happen. Nothing, any more. She strode slowly into the apartment building and found the apartment in no time. She tapped her knuckles against the door thrice, the folded her hands over her slightly-there bump. It was more like a bloat, but really, it had grown a little from the past week, and she had a few days till the last day of her first trimester.
Kim had been the one to bid her uncle good bye as he got onto a plane and left - she watched wives farewell their husbands and children wave good bye to their daddies, and frowned to herself. Lexie should have been here, and her uncle shouldn't even be going there in the first place. However, as she watched the plane depart, Kim took it upon herself to check on Lexie, so instead of driving her uncle's Porsche to his apartment, she pulled over to theirs. Or well, where she used to live anyways. Kim needed to start considering how exactly things will work out for her from now on. But now wasn't the time to do that.
She had her key still, so getting into the apartment was no feat. The place looked so dim, and despite the fact that Kim felt terribly tired and drained from doing nothing that day but eating a pie and going to the airport, she was tempted to clean it up. Setting that aside, she made her way to Lexie's door, and knocked once - she knew Lexie was in there. "Lexie? Can I come in?" She asked as she leaned against the wall, rubbing her lower back a little, damn cramps.

Kim was sleeping on the ground - they'd managed to get all the covers and pillows from the all the rooms and sleep in the living room. At least, they'd gotten Meredith to her bed first. She groaned a little as she sat up, glancing around. "Oh man." She mumbled as she pushed herself up and untangled herself from the covers, rubbing her eyes carefully. She glanced around, all the balloons were popped and scattered, toiled paper was all over the place. "Wow." She muttered as she got up onto her feet hesitantly, and walked over to Allie, who was sleeping on the couch, and nudged her shoulder gently, "Allie. Allie wake up. It's..." She glanced up at the clock, "8 am. Come on, we have to get Meredith into the bath." She muttered before she went around to wake up Lexie and Cristina.
She had a bag of change in her car, so she managed to get that and shower quickly, before she got into sweat pants and a tank top, pulling her hair up in the towel to let it dry then heading down to the kitchen to start making breakfast for everyone, nothing too much, just mostly coffee and toast and anything to spread, should it be jam or cheese or whatever.
NOTES: Treasure, that is what you are. Honey you're my golden star and if you could make my wish come true if you let me treasure you. If you let me treasure you. Jake finds his treasure.
Jake was overly hyper today. A lot of it had to do with Lexie. Well, all of it had to do with her. He was just so happy being with her. He'd spent the last couple of days with her just chilling out for the most part and he'd never felt so happy and relaxed. He changed into his swimming trunks then pulled out the metal detector he'd stolen a while back from his closet and mad his way to the beach.
Lexie: got into her two piece bathing suit and got ready. She was going out treasure hunting with Jake and she couldn't be happier. Ever since the ball, things were just perfect. She was willing to let herself like Jake. And it felt great. It felt amazing to have someone share the same feelings as you. So of course, Lexie was happy to spend more time with Jake. Lexie was finally ready and she made her way down to the beach. Spotting him, She ran and jumped on his back. "BOO!" She wrapped her legs around his torso and arms around his neck. "Hey you." She lightly pecked his cheek as he put her back down.
Jake "Oomph," Jake almost stumble feeling Lexie jump on him. He instinctively grabbed a hold of her thighs and laughed. "You scared me." He put her down and turned around to face her. He smiled as she kissed his cheek. "Hey, babe." He wrapped his arms around her waist and leaned down to kiss her softly. "You ready to find some crazy stuff?" He asked as he let go of her and took her hand in his lacing their fingers together.
Lexie: giggled. "Good that was the point" She looked up at him once he was facing her. "Hey." Her lips connected to his with a smile. Lexie nodded. "Yup. Hopefully we'll find something totally awesome." She laced her fingers with him and started walking.
Jake "You sneaky little thing you," he laughed. "I probably would have done the same thing. Well minus the jumping on your back part. I'd probably break your back," he said bedding over and picking up the metal detector he dropped when she surprised him. He looked at her, not being able to help but smile. "Have you told Zefron that you're leaving him yet?"
Lexie: just laughed at his comment. She looked over at him when he asked her the question. "Oh. Yeah. He was really upset. He kept trying to get me to stay by flashing is abs but I told him i couldn't do long distance. But he'll get over it." She gave him a sarcastic shrug and laughed once more.
Jake nodded seriously as she talked about Zefron. "Good good," he squeezed her hand gently while sweeping the detector back and forth over the sand. "Um, yeah. So now you're all single and free." He was suddenly overcome with nerves. "And well, you're really awesome and everything."
Lexie: walked slowly alongside Jake as he swept the metal detector back and forth. She looked over at him with a warm smile on her face. "Yeah I guess I am." She grinned. "Thanks Jake. You're really great and everything too." She squeezed his hand gently.
Jake stopped walking and put the detector down. He turned to her, taking hold of her other hand. He looked down at her, smiling at how blue her eyes were. "I...I know you don't like dating or anything. And that's totally cool you know. I just really like you and maybe..." He inhaled deeply closing his eyes in the process. When he opened them back up he stared into her eyes. "I was thinking maybe you'd make me the exception. I mean we're already kinda together and I don't want anyone else. I guess what I'm trying to say is that," his breathing was heavy. "Okay. Here goes. Iwantyoutobemygirlfriend," he mumbled the worlds quickly.
Lexie: stopped suddenly when Jake stopped. She looked at him confused but her smile returned when he looked into her eyes. She listened carefully as he started to ramble. Her heart started racing as she realized where he was going. Her eyebrow perked up in amusement. He seemed nervous and she thought it was the cutest thing in the world. The truth was.. she didn't like dating. It always lead to heart ache. But Jake was different. He made her feel things she had never felt for anyone. She was happy when he was around and she couldn't imagine being around anyone else like that. Lexie pursed her lips and squinted at him slightly. "What? Can you say that again please?" She was teasing him but she loved seeing how cute he was being.
Jake gave her a big shy smile then started chewing on his lip. "Well, I..." he giggled a little. "I just wanted to know," he kept chewing on his lips trying to tone down the silly grin he had on his face. He took a deep breath and leaned his head down. "Would you be my girlfriend?" He whispered softly in her ear then straightened up as he looked at back at her in anticipation. He had his puppy dog eyes as he continued biting his lips waiting for her answer.
Lexie: had to fight the grin that was trying to come across her face. He was so damn cute. Her eyes were right on him as he looked down. She felt his breath on her ear and set a chill up her spine. She could tell he was nervous. So she played along and kept a cold stone look on her face. But it didn't last very long. She giggled. "You are so freaking cute." She leaned up to kiss his lips. "Yes. Yes I would love to be your girlfriend." She giggled again as she kissed his lips once more.
Jake thought that if the heat didn't make his hands sweaty already then the anticipation definitely did. He could feel his heart racing and skipping a beat all the same. His breathing stopped when she leaned up to kiss him. He could feel the smile forming on his face again the moment she said yes. He kissed her back, letting her hands go and grabbing hold of her hips. He lifted her up and spun around, never breaking the kiss. He didn't think he could get any happier than he'd already been but hearing her say yes to him proved him wrong.
Lexie: grinned when he smiled. She laughed as he picked her up and kissed her. She placed her hands on his neck to steady herself. her long hair fell over their faces as they kissed. Lexie couldn't help but feel happy. As he started to place her down, she just wrapped her legs around his middle and cupped his face as she deepened the kiss. Something about kiss Jake just... made her feel happy. She loved that feeling and she was happy that she could officially call him her's.
Jake held her by her thighs as she wrapped her legs around him. "You're my treasure," he mumbled pulling away from her for a moment to take a breath. He looked at her, giving her a smile before replacing his lips back on hers and continuing their passionate kiss.
Lexie: just kept smiling against his lips. She didn't care if they were showing major PDA. Lexie was too happy to care. She finally pulled back to take a breath and leaned her forehead against his. "I really like you Jake." She smiled as she leaned back so she could better look at his face.
Jake "Yeah? You wanna know a secret?" he said. He bowed his head down and whispered into her ear again. "I really really like you, too." He pulled back with a smile then gave her a peck on the lips. "And I really...really...really...like having your lips on mine." He gave her a little kiss between each "really".
Lexie: "What's your secret?" Her smile spread across her when he told her he liked her too. She gladly pecked him back. Enjoying each and every kiss. "mm me too." She took his hand in her's, lacing their fingers. "So more treasure or is this enough?" She leaned in for once last kiss.
Jake "I don't think I could ever get enough of your kisses." He winked. "I know I know. That's not what you were talking about." Jake stuck his tongue out a little. "I think I'm all treasured out. We can just sit here and play in the water later. I don't know. As long as I'm with you."
Lexie: "We can swim. That's fine with me." She let go of hand and stripped out of her white shirt. Wiggling out of her jean shorts she tossed her clothes in a small pile in the sad. "I'll race you to the water."
Jake he pulled off his white shirt and pushed his cargo shorts off tossing his clothes on too of hers. "Okay...I'll even give you a head start." He wink.
Lexie: watched for a second before she took off running. Her long hair flying behind her she laughed as she started to run into the water not even paying attention to see if Jake was right behind her or not. Water went splashing as her legs reached the water finally. She laughed out loud once more.
Jake laughed softly as he let her get a head start, watching a for a second before taking off after her! He kept a close distant between them until they reached the waters. He ran up behind her and circled his arms around her waist. "Gotcha," he said lifting her up and spinning her around in the water.
Lexie: squealed as he grabbed her waist and spun her around. Laughing she settled back down into the water. She reached down and splashed some water on him. She then dove down underneath a small wave and popped up on the other side. "Oh it's cold!"
Jake put her down then turned to avoid getting splashed with the water. He turned back around in time to see her pop up on the other side of the wave. "You know I'm not letting you get away with that, right?" He dove under a wave just as she did and surfaced right beside her. "BOO!" He said as he popped up and kissed her on the cheek before leaning back and splashed her with the water.
Lexie: couldn't stop her giggles. She was having so much fun and the fact that she was now Jake's girlfriend made it all the better. She shrieked playfully when he scared her. "Oh my lanta you scared me!" She laughed as he kissed her and then splashed her. She jumped up on him and clung on. "Ha!" She kissed his cheek. "Now you've gotta carry me everywhere."
Jake "Oh my lanta?" He started up into a fit of laughter. "Baby, I have never heard of that. Oh god you're so adorable." He was amazed by her every
Jake He was amazed by her more and more every minute he spent with her. He couldn't believe that she was his girlfriend. She liked him a lot and that much he knew but for her to actually be with him and only him. Being the girl he could call his own girlfriend, he wasn't sure that this was actually a reality or a dream.. And if it was a dream he didn't want to be awoken from him. He wrapped his arms around her instinctively, smiling as he kissed her cheek. "I'd carry you to the ends of this world," he said laughing into her shoulder. "No seriously. I'd carry you everywhere you want me to."
Lexie: blushed. "Shh don't judge me." She smiled as she looked back at him as they waded in the water a little. "I wouldn't make you carry me everywhere all the time. Though it is fun. I mean... look at your arms...." She grabbed his bicep and gave it a gentle squeeze. "They're hot." She bit her lower lip shyly for a moment as her fingers ran up his neck when she wrapped her arms around it.
Jake kissed her cheek again as she blushed. "Seriously, can you get any cuter?" He grinned and looked down as she squeezed his bicep. "And you're beautiful," he whispered in her ear. "I wouldn't mind carrying you everywhere," he paused for a moment and gave her a soft smile. "As long as I get to have these," he moved his head forward, pressing his lips to hers.
Lexie: smiled against his lips. "You can have as many as you want. Because I love giving them to you." She pecked his lips a couple more times before pulling back to look at him. "I'm so happy to be your girlfriend Jacob Puckerman" The brightest smile appeared upon her face.
Kim smiled down at her phone and looked up again at the chart she was finishing up, quickly scribbling down her signature to confirm that she was the intern who finished it before she put it back into the chart cart and she hopped off the stool at the nurse's station, waving to Olivia as she left. Finally! She exclaimed within her mind, They would paint the rooms. They'd have to repeat the fiasco when Jo moves in but in all honesty, Kim had no patience in her to wait for another day avoiding the sickly painted room and the utterly uncomfortable sleeping bag she was surviving in - what was the point of having an apartment if you're not going to be in it? Well, Kim knew she wasn't going to be in it from the first place, but the idea itself was what she implied.
As she ran into the intern locker room, she was glad it was empty - and immediately hid behind the row of lockers to change. She folded the still clean scrubs and put them in her locker as she pulled on her jeans, shirt, and boots, then she slung her jacket over her shoulder and made sure nothing poked out of the locker as she went on her way, heading off to the lobby. When she finally was there, she stood beside the coffee house...trying to decide whether should she or should she not buy coffee.
Kim dragged herself tiredly through the cafeteria, holding the cups of coffee in her hand. She groaned tiredly - the night shift had killed her, but since it was her first night shift, it was really considerably god. None of the patients she had to monitor died, and so she just established that that was a very good start to her intern year. Right now, with everyone stable, she needed to go look for the apartment she would be staying in. And she knew she couldn't afford the rent on her own, so her only choice was Lexie Grey.
Kim went back to the intern locker room and found Lexie asleep on one of the benches. It made her job a lot easier than to page her. Kim knelt down and shook Lexie's shoulder briefly, "Hey..wake up. We have an apartment to look at." She muttered tiredly and set the cup of coffee on the ground for Lexie as she got up and sipped from her own, fishing her jacket from her locker to put it on,
