Lucas and Dustin were collectively thinking, “man, I really hope Will accepts his feelings,” whenever it came to Mike — because, honestly, Mike was way too obvious. Like, Mike, if you stared at Will any harder, people would start scheduling blink breaks for you.

Mike, on the other hand, swears that every single time he talked to Will, he could feel someone absolutely burning holes into the back of his head with their stare. To this day, he’s still not sure whether it was Lucas, Dustin… or something else.

Headcanon: Gale and Durge edition

Durge might have multiple TBIs and act out murderous impulses on the regular, but at least they're Baldurian.

The first time the group all has tea together, they watch in abject shock and horror as Gale makes his tea with lemon, not milk.

"Dear gods above," Wyll whispers, as Durge mutters something about castles, bones, and rivers of blood. "Sometimes he seems so normal, I forget he's from Waterdeep."

Whenever Mike and Lucas get into a fight, Will and Dustin just decide to hang out with each other instead, hoping Mike and Lucas settle their differences for once without their help. Will and Dustin would be vibing and thriving together, and then after some hours or maybe it's the next day even, they'd realize Mike and Lucas are still arguing and not talking to each other cuz they're just that stubborn. That's when Will's forced to play mediator between them as Dustin complains about how childish his friends are.

Will makes Dustin promise him that if he's like sick or not around or something, and if Mike and Lucas start fighting again, that it's up to Dustin to play mediator in his place. Since Dustin listens to Will cuz Will's wise, he agrees. That's why in s1, Dustin forces Mike and Lucas to talk to each other and make up.

"Garrien and the Party Dynamics"

I wanna talk about Garrien's relationships with the other members of the Veilguard, so let's start with Davrin!

Garrien is largely very blunt and straightforward when "on the job", but he is also generally more "glass half full" as well.

He will try to reassure those around him that "everything is fine. I can handle this, I know what I'm doing.", even if he doesn't necessarily believe it himself.

The only time this mask slips, even a little bit, is when he's back at the Lighthouse. And even more specifically than that, when he is with Davrin (and also Varric, first and foremost.)

He sees Davrin as a brother in arms almost immediately, and trusts him to have his back. As a fellow Grey Warden, he doesn't feel like he needs to be so self assured with him. He knows he can say "Yeah, this is bullshit and it's only gonna get worse from here.", and Davrin will get it.

This isn't to say that the other party members *believe* Garrien when he's in "I have to be the hero. I have to be fearless." mode. For instance, Harding most definitely does not because she's known him for long enough to see right through it, and Garrien knows that.

But Davrin is the first one to call him out on it, and the first time that he does Garrien is extremely defensive, before he realizes that he has a point and he's not being malicious. It's okay, and necessary to voice your doubts (or more frequently just vent the sheer stress and general bullshit that they're dealing with) and that doesn't make you less of a leader, less of a hero, or less of a Warden.

The great thing about playing a druid in D&D (besides the versatility) is that once you get to wild shape, holiday shopping becomes a LOT easier. For example, my character has a bear wild shape, so for Christmas, if my group does a gift exchange, I will make it very clear that "mama bear" themed gifts are not only approved, but encouraged. I want to make everyone question why a teenage non-heterosexual college student has gifts meant for moms (teen pregnancy? pet? adopted a kid while living out of a dorm?) before I explain, "Oh, it's my D&D character. They're the mom figure and also occasionally a bear."

For context, we have a blood hunter who I will 100% HAVE to heal after every battle, a sorcerer who I might also have to heal, and another player whose character I don't even know yet who I will ALSO have to heal. Probably. I don't know. That character will probably be a rogue or something like that.

So, for at least one party member (who I suspect is lawful evil to my chaotic good), the dynamic is this:
