A delicious mix of red wine, brandy, and fresh fruit makes Anatomy of Sangria. It's great for a cool drink on a hot day or to add to the fun at any party. Citrus flavors, berries, and a touch of sweetness come together to make a perfectly balanced drink.
Ingredients: 1 bottle of red wine. 1/4 cup brandy. 2 tablespoons orange liqueur. 1/4 cup sugar. 1 orange, sliced. 1 lemon, sliced. 1 lime, sliced. 1 apple, cored and chopped. 1 cup mixed berries such as strawberries, raspberries, blackberries. 2 cups sparkling water or lemon-lime soda, chilled. Ice cubes.
Instructions: In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add the sliced orange, lemon, lime, chopped apple, and mixed berries to the pitcher. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld. Just before serving, add the chilled sparkling water or lemon-lime soda to the pitcher and stir gently. Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the sangria over the ice. Garnish with additional fruit slices if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
