Patawawa brings us a much needed dose of snazzy funk and flashy charm on the UK trio’s swank new jam, Fight Me. How anyone could ever be in the mood for a “fight” after twirling around to this disco pop and electro-funk dazzler evades me. Good vibes abound as we strut our way around the room and bust out our best shoulder rolls to the steamy swizzling tune, a glittery chic explosion of sonic pizzazz. Fight Me is Patawawa’s first proper single since their acclaimed debut EP dropped back in January. The Soundcloud description for Fight Me explains: “Much like their EP's lead track 'Patagonia' which hid a song about anxiety inside an upbeat glitter dusted disco number, 'Fight Me' similarly smuggles a song about fighting addiction into what, at first, appears to be a love song set to massive synth riff, a party starting beat and impossible to not sing-along chorus” Well, we’re addicted to Patawawa’s dapper bops, and there’s not an ounce of us that wants to fight that obsession.
