Oh no, I’ve fallen for Paul and Nice. I would take an entire series just about them.
That conversation in the kitchen! The actors are doing so much with the minuscule screen time they’ve been given. A whole entire complex relationship built in three short conversations. I hope this means we’ll continue to get more of them and not return to mostly ignoring their existence like in the first four episodes.
But this moment here! This is when they stole my heart for real:
An entire story in just those nine seconds of my terrible tumblr-made gifs!
(I promise you, the colors are so much better in the real show, don't let this scare you away.)
It's been such a pleasure working with Paul Nice on his new Mix Tape: Breaks for Days 2. I think it will be in a cassette tape and digital download. I can do a small run of collectible prints too! https://www.facebook.com/realpaulnice https://soundcloud.com/realpaulnice https://soundcloud.com/toastwrpi/grown-man-rap-show-episode-57-jorun-bombay-special-edition- paul-nice-dj-toast
I love that it turns out the reason Nice doesn't want them to be official boyfriends is about anxiety for Paul and not about coming out as bi or being out and gay. It's purely about how everyone he's asked to be his faen has instantly gotten into an accident. Yes, it's a humor shtick, but at least it's not homophobia.
Also, this was adorable damn I love these two.
Illegally adorable. And then having them be able to be public at the end of the episode and the way it was subtle to no one and how sweet they were and how excited Paul was?!!? I am gone. How joyful.
They really were cute before the slapstick and the pain got to them. But I understand it. They did a really good job handling this, honestly, showing how sweet they can be but how much the hiding hurt both physically (for comedy) and emotionally (for drama). Made mostly because @gillianthecat posting about them reminded me how much I liked this scene and the handholding in the sink.
(But also this is the exact kind of drama I wanted, to see the fear of that shipping culture and being outted hurting their relationships... sadly, the show will probably have Namwan convincing them to come out or something...)
Poor sleep-deprived Paul trying to deal with the way Nice is talking about him hurts. He's too tired to be really understanding about the whole staying the closet thing. And then Nice finding him afterwards to apologize and comfort him was sweet. He even really apologized and held his hand and was just so gentle about all of it. Paul and Nice love each other so much but Nice's fear of coming out of the closet is a trap for both of them. I hope this will be the kick he needs to come out so he can love openly.
