the bit that really fucking knocked me flat in khemjira was definitely the naga scene because finding out that peem’s past life gave up immortality because he wanted to experience mortal love is just so devastatingly beautiful.

and the fact that his later reincarnations are so duty bound and try so hard to walk the right path, when the whole reason they are there is to feel what love is, it just wrecks me. that happy ending he gets with khem is him finally, finally getting what he came to the mortal world for, and i love it.
