Even if the media taught us to fear it doesn’t mean we can change our mindset through experience. Sharks aren’t the problem, lack of understanding of their nature is. We need sharks in order to have a beautiful ocean to enjoy. Mahalo @9292anna for giving sharks a chance and speaking up for them! We hope to see you out with us again soon 💙🦈 ・・・ 🌺: Turn fear into fascination. #CageTheFear | 🦈The first and only cage-less shark research and diving program in Hawaii. #PelagicProgram #PelagicSharkProgram #NorthShore #Haleiwa #Oahu #Hawaii When I first decided to swim with sharks it was all about getting an amazing photo (@ivana_sljapic 😆). Then I started to watch documentaries, videos, Ted talks, to learn more about these misunderstood pelagic animals and to read researches about their importance to the health of our ocean, instead of relying on the misleading information that media feed us. The fact is we can #coexist but in order to coexist, they need to exist. 70 to 100 millions sharks are killed every year (mostly for shark fin soup) #SayNoToSharkFinSoup #NotYourFins #StopFinning Their populations are rapidly decreasing around the world and we need to use our voice to spread the awareness #SpeakUpForSharks #HelpSaveSharks #WeNeedSharksAlive cause they are keystone structures to the health of the #Ocean! #SaveTheOcean P.S. we got a bunch of amazing photos! 😁 Mahalo nui loa! @oneoceandiving @oneoceanglobal @oneoceanresearch @oneoceaneducation @oneoceanconservation @oneoceansharks @waterinspired @oneoceandesigns @littleoceantours @oneoceanhawaii @oneoceanbikini https://www.instagram.com/p/BpKrYpYB7VX/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=4rnsdxsjrdgc
