OMG!!! What an amazing ending to the Butchers story. I would say an epic ending to the Republic series, but we know it is not truly over…
This book picks up right where the Carver left off. And I believe that my last review left us wondering would The Butcher burn the world down for Fleur. Yes! Yes he would. He proves this over and over throughout this series. But this book just shows us how much Fleur is willing to sacrifice for Bastien. Their story I an epic love story that transcends everything you thought you knew about true love. Bastien isn’t just in love with her, his love is an addiction, an obsession. He would move heaven and earth for her, with no regard to his own wellbeing.
This book is a nonstop ride of adrenaline and lust. The danger is extremely high as war is on the horizon. Allies will fall and betrayl is deep. A snake is amongst them and Bastien must find it and cut off its head before it strikes.
Fleur has been through so much and her trams from dying is a major struggle. Will she overcome it or will it tear them apart?
This book is the conclusion of The Butcher’s story, but it will not be the ending of the Republic series. Be warned, there are major triggers in this book. With a few being rape, kidnapping, extreme violence and bloodshed. Do not read lightly. I have enjoyed this dark erotic romance and suggest it to all the mafia romance lovers.
