So it's performance review time at work and I'm struggling. First because we're supposed to review ourselves for all of 2025... I don't even remember what I did in January much less for the 12 months before that. But more than that, I really hate the new software we're using this time...
We have to rank ourselves 1-5 in like 5 or 6 different areas (taking initiative, crossing things off the list, acting professionally, etc.) with room for comments. And then we have to answer three or four open ended questions about our impact last year and our goals for this year. Not really that different from previous reviews, but the new software has AI built in, and directly under the open ended questions is this:
Guys, an AI built into a program that I've never used or logged into before is gonna answer the "what impact did you make last year" question for me! And then it'll tell me what my goal for this year should be! How exciting, it's like I don't even have to be there for my review!
Out of curiosity, I want to click the button. Out of principle, I won't, but it's really tempting to find out what a program that knows nothing about me, my job, or what I do thinks I should do with my life...
