Found anbu legacy on ao3 at the start of the year and I’ve read through it probably six times since then, you’ve written such a brilliant series and I was so excited to see and read the new chapter! Will you also be updating on ao3? Or will it just be on your website?

hello! im in the middle of reading book 3 (amazing amazing work btw!!!!!! the world building is incredible to say the least, and the character dynamics are so fun to read), and noticed that the volume 5 ebook was published all the way back in 2021. i'm assuming that that means the current updates aren't enough for a new volume yet, but i just wanted to ask if completing volume 6 is still a long way off, or it's close enough that it's better for me to wait :D!

also! just wanted to ask on which chapter/fic (for ao3) or post (for the website) vol 5 ended at?

Hey, delighted to hear you're enjoying the ANBU Legacy read! You're correct that we are currently still working on the chapters that will be compiled into Volume 6. I'm hoping we'll get the next chapter out relatively soon-ish, but I don't anticipate we'll have Volume 6 compiled and released for...let's say at least 6 months. (We'll come back in 6 months and see how wildly wrong I am...)

Volume 5 collects the chapters from Where in the World to Light the Way Forward, from the Suspension arc to the end of the Blood and Youkai arc. Once you finish, you can pick up directly with the Situation in Suna arc, starting with the chapter Younger Than Tomorrow.

Kimono Flea Market Ichiroya offers you the authentic and charming old kimono direct from Japan with reasonable prices just as the price of the Japanese flea markets !

Ichiroya lists this as a maiko furisode and you can tell it almost certainly was; sleeve tucks (though I can’t really make out if there are tucks at the shoulder) the heavy red staining at the lining (thanks to the red momi wrap worn under the obi) and the evidence of heavy use despite the relative age. Maiko and Geiko really but their kimono to work!

is it canon for legacy that orochimaru worked with/under danzous orders? If yes, what are the chances that the boys will find proof of it in the snakes lair?

I'd suggest re-reading More Secrets to Sell and Keep Your Enemies Close for details about the connection between Danzou and Orochimaru. As for what Genma and Raidou will find in the ruined temple, a lot will depend on what they have time and the ability to do. Primary objective is recovering their teammates.

I don't know what would be a funnier outcome: Raidou and Genma rescuing the rookies on a God Ordained Quest or Orochimaru dragging them along into a different dimension and landing in the middle of Minatos grudge match with the biju...

i love the world of legacy y'all have created but there's one really big problem and it's that i want to go on konoha pubmed SO DESPERATELY and i can't and it kills me!! as a research neuroscientist every time y'all get into the science of chakra and how it works as a system inside the human body i start thinking about the chakra processing neural circuitry and die a little on the inside cause i can't read about it 😔 oh well guess i'll have to speculate inside my own head instead!!

Oh my friend, you are a kindred spirit! I would love nothing better than to peruse Konoha pubmed with you, and talk long and animatedly over caffeinated beverages about the neuroscience of chakra. We try hard to make it at least plausible and self-consistent, but there are so many unknowns, and magic is as magic does. Unequal henge was our most recent topic of discussion.

I came here right after happening to see the new chapter in my inbox. It feels sort of unbelievable and certainly unbelievably special that I’ve carried these characters and this story that you’ve created in the back of my mind for over six years now. Like, I was younger than many of the characters when I started reading it and I’m older than them now. Thank you for sharing it with us and thank you for sticking with it all this time. I feel incredibly lucky that I get to have it in my life.

We are absolutely delighted to have you as a long-time reader. These characters have taken up permanent residence in our brains and lives, and we love sharing them with others who cherish them too.
